QUICK ALERT THE MEDIA SCIENTISTS DISCOVER AN OBVIOUS FACT ONCE AGAIN!

...If that's true I was a flaw in that figure, my teenage days were spent with very little to say but plenty to write and draw. I really hate these kind of studies, but I suppose it gives the mentally addled people of the world a job to keep them out of our way.

Yeah, because teenage boys never have any problems.

Apart from their higher levels of suicide, obviously.
We're expected to tough out everything. That in itself causes far more problems.

And I think there's so many problems today because people are given leway to have such problems. I haven't given it too much thought really, but in the god old days you did what you did and got on with it. That was that.

Surely you can't be serious.
I'm not joking, and don't call me Shirley.
So you're actually saying that people kill themselves to make them look better infront of their peers?

That's stupid.

Huh, so I guess talking about your problems doesn't help.
Just leads to suicide.

Makes me wonder what shrinks are for.

Man, first scientists find out that boys like pornography, that college kids have sex, and now teenage girls talk to much?

Looks like Captain Obvious got kicked out of the military and became a scientist.

Well I guess the theory behind why talking too much might be linked to depression is pretty interesting. The idea that talking is an (unsuccessful) method of dealing with problems could also mean that there is a link between problem solving skills and depression (or happiness!)...

I'm on a TV Tropes Linking Spree!

As for the topic at hand, I know how you feel, Malygris. I too has a sister that does that.

And talking to the voices in your head DOESN'T do this? Please. People are just complaining because they have a reason and easy explanation now.

Well, the main point that I got out of this is that it's not the talking to friends so much as it is the overly sympathetic face that the people they talk to display.

See, a girl experiencing this needs to go find a geeky boy to talk to. Not only will she probably make his day (and his lonely nights too, hurr hurr) but he might actually help think out a solution to the problem she's complaining about. Happens in these forums often enough...

Scientists needed to figure this out? I figure that out every day in Maths class. I have one noisy girl sat next to me yapping in one ear and her friend at the other side yapping the other. I seriously wanted to kill myself. In as maths detention, those same two girls were in it. One had to be moved out of the room and the other to the opposite to where the door was for them to stop talking.

Everyone from Dave Barry to David Wong [http://www.cracked.com/article_15231_7-reasons-21st-century-making-you-miserable.html] has known this since just about forever. Are scientists just looking for excuses to avoid tackling problems that require science to solve?

Not a very necessary study, though an interesting one. Just goes to show you that you should get some alone time once in a while.

Scientists today discovered water is wet, tickling makes you laugh and that after staying awake for long periods of time, people tend to get tired.

I swear to...I can't even...why'd they...but it isn't...why...

Why make a study like this if it's already common knowledge (REALLY common knowledge) that teenage girls talk/text/use the Internet too much? We already know this!

And to think they could have spent this money on, I don't know, a study on how to solve global warming...
