Classy. Of course if the rumors are true and fox news has listed the onion in its sources before then its not really unexpected.
I'm saying that having a beloved character based on the American Eagle seems to suggest they're not burning flags here.BRex21 said:Are you saying that by draping yourself in the American flag that any message is inevitably American?
Remind me, is that a good or a bad thing?Because I believe that is how The Patriot act got passed.
Again, is sharing/caring for your fellow man a good or a bad thing? If they are in fact promoting such things as sharing and caring for your fellow man, which i know is diametrically opposed to Fox news' political stance, the fact that they can sing patriotically does not change that.
Equally hilarious and/or depressing is the study that was released last week that found that people who watch Fox News know less about current events than people who don't watch any news at all. Thats right you'll learn more about current events simply by osmosis than by actively watching fox news.Racecarlock said:From wikipedia. As of January 2011, the Democratic Party-affiliated Public Policy Polling reports that Fox News Channel is the second-most trusted television news network in the country, with 42% of respondents reporting they trust the network, compared to other major news channels (behind PBS which stands at 50%, and ahead of NBC at 41%, CNN at 40%, CBS at 36%, and ABC at 35%). Simultaneously, Fox News Channel is also ranked the most distrusted news channel in the country, with 46% of respondents reporting they distrust the network (behind PBS at 30%, NBC at 41%, and CNN, CBS, and ABC each at 43%). Overall this represents a combined -16% drop among respondents from the year before and places the channel fourth among Americans in terms of trust/distrust (behind PBS, NBC, and CNN, and ahead of CBS, and ABC). Most of this drop is the result of a strong increase of distrust among moderates and liberals. While conservatives largely held the same view of the network as the year before (moving from 75% who trusted the channel last year to 72% who trust it this year), moderates and liberals increased heavily in their distrust of the network, with levels of distrust raising 48% to 60% among moderates and 66% to 82% among liberals. Of the poll's respondents, 18% identified as liberal, 41% as moderate, and 40% as conservative, while 40% identified as Democratic, 37% as Republican, and 23% as independent/other.[40][41]
72% trust. That is scary.
Oh Fox IS a terrible thing, as i said before they market fear to an audience in order to keep their attention in a way that borders on voluntary brainwashing.The_root_of_all_evil said:I'm saying that having a beloved character based on the American Eagle seems to suggest they're not burning flags here.BRex21 said:Are you saying that by draping yourself in the American flag that any message is inevitably American?

In addition, is Fox News a good or a bad thing?
Because, and pardon me for my assumptions, sharing/caring seems a GOOD thing. That would make Fox News a BAD thing for diametrically opposing it.
My argument was facetious at best. The problem often is that people take me, and themselves, WAY too seriously.BRex21 said:Your argument appears to be that the messages couldn't possibly have communist undertones because the speaker drapes himself in American symbolism.

Kids don't think that deep. All they see is "rich man, BAD!" "business man BAD" "All business men care about is money!" I'm not sure, but I doubt they mention that said oil tycoon would have to own the building to tear it down. So, heres an idea, don't sell it?aegix drakan said:I had to shut it off partway through. The villain is not evil because he's rich. He's evil because he doesn't care that his latest plan will crush the dreams of a whole bunch of people. In fact, that idea seems to make him happy. So if anything, it's "indoctrinating" kids to not be assholes.
