So my mom tried to get me to come 'out of the closet...'

I always wondered why people did that. It seems to benefit them more that their children.
You seem to have figured it out. People are assholes.

Incidentally, has no one figured out how to work the carpentry angle into a closet-related joke here? About building one maybe?
I didn't mean it as a joke, just that I'm a female in a predominantly male field. I think that's suppossed to mean I'm 'butch,' or something.

My mum keeps on trying to tell me I'm gay. It's getting a bit annoying at times. I mean there was that one time, but that's beside the point.

Turns out I was adopted but not really.
I grew up thinking my grandma was my mom when it turns out the girl that I've been calling my sister was my mom.
She was 15 when she had me and I wasn't even meant to happen.
God that sucked hearing.
Looks like we have a winner folks. That would have been an interesting day.

My dad was convinced that I'd had sex with my cousin.... I didn't....

He probably thinks that because I'm the only one who's nice to her, and everybody, including my dad, treats her like garbage.
That is so horrible in so many different ways all I can do is laugh.

The same day I ended up going to an amusement park with my whole family including my real mom and my fake mom.
So yeah it was pretty interesting.

For me not my parents but the rest of my family.

Was a great easter morning breakfast when my parents told me that the rest of the family kept bothering them with the question if i were gay or not. The reason of them to think that, I never had a relationship/girlfriend.

Didn't make the day better nor did it improve my view of the rest of my family.

Well, I had a great (rolls eyes) one today.

Edit: Oh yeah, and my mom has several times jokingly told me that she got me in order to get out of military service.
Is military service in Norway compulsory for women? :|
Yes. Though, you can refuse, and instead have to do social service.

Or, well, it's a bit complicated now. A while back, almost all people had to do military sevice; but these days the military doesn't want you if you have a small injury.
Ugh, that sucks. I always thought the only country where women have to do military service is Israel. I guess you learn something new every day. (Thanks for that, by the way. :) )
Can men also opt out, or is that part just for women. Man, this just gives me chills down my spine. I hate the army, and fortunately for me, compulsory military service for men has been stopped about 5 years ago (women never had to join). :D

I think your mum is a little old fashioned... >_<

My mum thinks everyone online is a rapist and I met my boyfriend online, when she asked where we met, I had to think quickly and tell her we met through a friend. Then she was asking what friend, where they live, how old he is, etc etc.

Telling my parents I was dropping out of college, and my dad's walked in on me jerking off to ask inane questions a bunch of times so once I answered him instead of yelling at him to fucking knock once in a while.

If it makes you feel any better, my mom thought I was both gay AND depressed.

That was a charming little chat.

When I was an adolescent my mum and I had the usual routine of argument, me say something spiteful, get a slap or sent to my room; the usual teen melodrama; one day, after one of those rows, I say something I'd never said before "I bet you wish you'd never had me?" Suddenly and completely out of character my mum breaks down in tears. After about two or three minutes of awkward silence my mum finally speaks.

"When you and your brother were little I lived off of the scraps on your plates because I couldn't afford to feed all three of us."

I've never said another mean word to her to this day.
Sometimes conversations can be awkward for the right reasons.

Back in the day, women could opt out without any consequence, while men needed a really good reason (like pacifism) and would even then be forced to do civil service.
Later, women had to abide by the same rules as men, as a part of the equal rights campaign I think. Now, however, the military is being scaled down, so they only want those who are best fit. Me, for example, they did not want. I figure that's probably because I 1: have a small injury in my wrist 2: said I didn't particularly want to do service.
You also have to be able to do more than a specified amount of sit-ups, push-ups, and pull-ups.

Hey, looks like I might have been wrong. http://forsvaret.no/english/Pages/Compulsory-military-service.aspx
Seems like military service isn't compulsory for women after all. Weird; I could have sworn it was.

For me it'd have to be the gay thing as well, I was talking about one of my gay friends and out of nowhere she said are you gay? I mean it's fine if you are but I'm curious. That room went from comfortable to insanely awkward in less than a second.

Why on Earth does Norway of all places have compulsory military service? I can't think of anybody who'd want to attack you guys.

Having my dad ask me how good the sex was after walking in on one of my ex-girlfriends and I. That was not really that awkward since my parents, especially my dad, and I are pretty open about everything. Still pretty weird after he walked in. At least he distracted everyone else that came home and let us finish.

Yeah seriously, if I were president or whatever I'd stay the hell away from Norway, you guys are total bad-asses.
