Wow. I feel sorry for you poor sods on PSN, and I hope none of you get fucked up at all by this, and if you do, hopefully not too badly.

[joke] I'll be going back to safe ol' Xbox Live now. [/joke]

Yeah, because small groups shouldnt try sneaking around... you need a massive army to sneak into somewhere... T_T

Yes, they need to upgrade their security... but once again the fact that an illegal act has taken place ISNT their fault as they didnt commit the illegal act. They are also the victims here. Blame the people actually doing wrong.
I mean a small group of random people, for me if someone was to break into something huge like that I would prefer it to be a massive corporation or some CIA/MI5 type hacking going on. At least it makes Sony look better than "Angry nerds hacked into Sony and got EVERYTHING"

People blame both parties, sure accidents happen but people are still going to be outraged, that is something you cannot change; people need someone to blame and it helps if they have a face/a name.

Wow... I don't have a PSN, but... Wow... How could Sony not release this information the moment they got it? I mean, the hackers are definitely to blame, but Sony has just been completely irresponsible...

Hmmm PSN goes down the day after Skynet is supposed to take control? Seems a little too much of a coincidence to me. Clearly its gathering funds...

On a more serious note though, this is unfortunate, but no system is 100% secure, if someone wants to get in it they will. Its a fact of the digital age, we just need to find who did it and move on....until the next attack on whoever is next.
It's August 30th, 1997? Dang it, I've crossed my own timestream again.

I know this is a really terrible thing, but this guy needs an applause or something. ALL the data? There must terrabytes of stuff there. Literally, you'd probably have to have a big thing to host 70 million accounts and copy the data from all of aforementioned accounts.

Good ol' hackers. Fighting for your consumer rights against the evil corporation that takes away your rights...

Oh wait they have been douchebags the whole time in this case. Nevermind. Fuck you Geohotz for probably causing all this by releasing that code. If not then you certainly encouraged it.
You mind explaining how a hack to run homebrew code on your PS3 enabled the entire security of the PSN to be compromised? Sony's horrendous security is at fault here, not hackers playing homebrew code.
It enabled them to connect to a trusted network.

And who's to say they didn't just discover that information before they reported it? Hmmmmm? With the amount of subscribers PSN has, I'd imagine it takes a fuckload of time to go through all the damage caused to find the/a/some problem/s..

There is one device that has direct access to the PSN. Someone allowed people to modify that device in anyway they want. Others were able to grab more access than intended for them to have.

No matter how you look at this, this is a direct result of GeoHotz's actions.

Also to the people who blame Sony, far more important and secure databases are breached all the time. Sony being hacked isn't a one of a kind occurrence that can only be their fault.
1. It wasent a PSN direct hack it was a bypass. It had nothing to do with the code from GeoHotz's quit being (for lack of better terms) racist.

2. Its not that they WERE hacked it what they did about it. Seriously having sensitive data compromised when your a big corporation is just stupid. There is always 1 sure fire way to stop a hack. Sony could take a few pointers from NCIS

************. And I just added my credit card back to my account after deleting my info months ago.

Oh well. The jokes on you, hackers. My bank account is usually empty and my credit is shit.

Besides, it isn't as bad as when a local government official had the names and social security numbers of nearly everyone in the city on a disk, and the disk got stolen from his car.

Wow ... This is just horrendous. They waited a week to tell anyone this, the flippin' idiots ... I dont know how PS3 "fanboys" can even attempt to rectify this. I heard arguments saying that it was "Free" and as such "Shouldnt complain its down" but just because its free doesnt mean people should lose credit card information.

I cant even come up with any idea how Sony are going to make this up to their customers.
You defeated your own argument, it's free thus not having to enter credit card information.

Also blaming someone for getting hacked is stupid.

And that's the third time, at least, that you've posted that YouTube clip. If you're trying to be an egotistical asshat, you're succeeding. And it's not making you look like a sane, wise human being. Please grow up.

Lol yeah. Depends what time line you follow, I used SCC because it worked...although a fair argument can be made for 'Not Cannon'.
