Why must we continue arguing over this time and time again? Why do companies try to act like they are doing anything but trying to steal your money? THEY DO THIS STUFF TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Also Ignore everything Indigo_dingo says in these matters, he is far from impartial.
So somehow the fact that I'm the only one who grasps the line between actively funding something new and paying to reduce the spread of content makes me far from impartial?
Oh I understand it, I just know from experience you lead the PS3 fanboys. No offence. I respect your contribution to the community and it is a well made point, but you don't listen to well made points AGAINST Sony.
Thats because they hardly ever show up. Everyone keeps coming back with "Sony are evil, Sony are whinging, they're just jealous cause they didn't do something like that, the Ps3 has no good games".
I agree, but even when one is put forward you poo poo it. YOu are a Sony Fanboy, and do not give Microsoft a chance. YOu do make good points for sony, unlike the Idiot fanboys, but that does not change that you are one.
Well said. The sad thing is, when a topic isn't about Sony, Indigo can actually be very percieve and smart. But add Sony into the mix and the blinkers come out. Hell, Sony could announce they plan to release virus clouds into the atmosphere and he'd defend their business model.
Exactly.
Generally speaking, thats because people seem to continually look at these things from a perspective that Sony are bad. Lets look at the chart Sony put out showing the features of a Ps3 versus what you'd need to pay to get those on a 360. People automatically said this was a bad thing. But it was explaining something to people who say its too expensive, increasing awareness of value. Seemed relatively straightfoward to me.
I have never argued that you don't get a lot for your money. You do. But only if you have an HDTV. Also a lot of the time its not about VALUE for money, its about the actual cash you are handing over.
Even if you take out High Definition picture, you still get free online and Wi-fi, and far cheaper memory. These aren't exactly high-end functions.
Yes, Better value for money. But, I don't play Online, and prefer a cabled network. Also it costs more cash out of my hand, therefore has a disadvantage.
I personally prefer an up-front charge as opposed to a low intial payment then continual payments forever. I guess thats why I choose debit over credit.
But I don't use Online play, so I only HAVE my initial cost.
Except for the memory.
I do not use my console for media storage. Nor do I used it for online play. nor do I have HD. I use it to play games. Which is the best deal for me?
So you don't buy downloadable games?
Not any more than can be held on a 20 gig drive.

And nobody from Sony has bothered to answer Microsoft's "Attack [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90335]-s [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90352]" on Sony, what's your point?
That there's at least one company that hasn't actively been taking part in these pisstakes?

I think Sony is at a disadvantage from the first party development because if they focus on the PS3 soley they piss off PSP/PS2 owners from the lack of games (though that is pretty much what they did second half 2007 and 2008) while if they spread it out the PS3 will lose ground (2006,first half of 2007, and possibly this year). Then again Nintendo solved the problem by training their fanbase over the years to accept this.

You're completely right...

Which is what I'd be saying if the better PS3 models didn't have complete reverse compatibility.

Too bad they are discontinued and now cost more than the 60GB did at launch(!).

This generation, you're right. The previous few generations, Nintendo have been just as bad as these guys are right now. If I could find the damn list I'd post it >_<

Too bad Sony can't put their money into say...fixing their "free" network.

PSN while as vast as it is,wasn't as stable as the first XBox LIVE.

unfortunatly, sony may be right in saying that making games is better than throwing money everywhere buying games, but microsoft are doing better than sony...

and remember their companies, money first, so maybe they should take some tips of microsoft rather than just bringing up a new thing thats different in the companys (btw im aware microsoft do this too, ill moan at them when they make their next stupid comment)

I'd suspected this for a while.

Microsoft may be good partners to work with and all, but if it is for the sake of exclusivity, it doesn't explain things like Assasin's Creed and FFXIII.

Though otherwise, it really is Sony's own fault for sucking this generation.

here is something I think sony is missing these days;

This is business...MS/Sony/Nintendo etc are all out to make money.. bottom line

Game developers/publishers are out to make money bottom line.

To make money, you need to spend money.

there is NOTHING absolutely NOTHING keeping Sony from making similar deals now..

actually.. If I recall Sony always use to gloat majorly about their exclusives and partnerships and such back with the ps2.. so the way this reads " and notice I say it's how it " reads" is similar to a childish temper tantrum of " no fair bobby got the same bike as me, but with clickers on it!"

Im not totally debasing sony, as again I have both a ps3, and 360....what I think sony really should do is focus on PR, and spend more time proofing their statements...as a ps3 owner the " call out" actually gives me a negative view of the brand more than anything else.

if they are trying to rustle sabres...they really need to go about it a different way.

At least Sony have finally made a comeback to all the comments that Microsoft have been making.
Even if it is a piss poor argument.
