And pretty much any mid to high end gaming PC with a halfway decent GPU. Please, get over yourself, the PS3 isn't the be all and end all to gaming systems. The gaming PC will ALWAYS be more powerful than any current generation console, because PC's get better, the console stays the same. I understand that the man wants to talk up his own company's console, but doing it like this has the opposite effect. I'm now convinced that Sony employs a lot of technology ignorant buffoons to head up their projects. This does not persuade me to trust the quality of their games or their console.
While you're correct that PC technology improves much faster given its compartmentalization, the thing about PC fans' arguments that annoys me most is there tends to be a whole lot of
variety.
By that, I mean every PC is different depending on the user's needs and budget to meet those needs. So, currently I am in a bit of a pickle because my current rig simply
cannot keep up with the latest and even moderately-graphically demanding games. I have purchased a few parts for this update but when I learned I might need to replace my very motherboard, I was irked by the exorbitant prices.
Recently, I've got an Xbox 360 and the thing I appreciate most about such gaming consoles is the
homogeneity- every Xbox bought is essentially the exact same package with only minor features like memory capacity or appearance variable. So you know when you buy one that you will be totally
up to date with the rest of the gamer base playing 360's, rather than having to worry about which part where isn't up to speed with this latest part there.
In the meantime, my PC is collecting dust aside from the occasional homework assignment and (worth it) TF2 lagfest.
