On the bright side, maybe this will knock down the prices of the PS3 and its games as Sony tries to win new fans to gain back the ones it's lost. And I won't have to sell my future children into indentured servitude as payment...

Wow the problems are really starting to pile up for Sony, I wonder how long it will take before I start feeling sorry for them.

This kinda sums it up. It was hilarious beforehand, but at the rate of things, Sony f***ed up, and F'd up big.

It won't. People have been looking forward to start something like this against Sony for a while now. Now they have a legitimate reason behind it.

But instead of trying to go after the culprits, they start to pile stuff on top of Sony while their trying to save their asses and get the info back.

Wait... you're not going to sell your children as sla... I mean, indentured servants? That would be the only reason for me to have children...

[sub]For anyone who cant tell, that was sarcasm...[/sub]

Am I the only one that's a little pissed that somehow I'm included in all this?

Look, I don't give a shit about lawsuits or any of the other speculative bullshit I've been reading for the past few days right now. I just want to know if I need to change my credit card or not, who did it, and when is this all gonna be fixed!
No you're not, I'm wondering if I can get hold of this lawyer and politely tell him I don't want to be part of his shit.

My main concern is when the PSN is actually going to come back up.

Oh, and Rothken Law Firm, this 'damage' will mean I have to spend a whole minute or so changing my password, how much is that worth...?

On a lighter note, my Captcha was "Youldree Eggs" wtf?

You don't need to get a hold of anybody to not be part of this suit. Class Action suits are pretty straight forward. They sue on behalf of every consumer affected and all consumers are legally notified. If you wish to participate, you send in a reply by mail. After the sum is agreed upon with the company, the law firm divides out an even share to everybody who opted in and mails you a check.

I was involved in one with my microwave, when it turned out there were problems. All I did was check a box saying "I want money" and then collect a check. Also, I was provided with a new microwave. It was a good deal.

It won't, it's not meant to do anything other than cause more chaos and pain for sony.

(Please note loyal Xbox fan here and even I feel bad for sony at this point)

Well shit! That sounds fun!

How are they going to make sure EVERYONE is notified? Because I want in on this.

Oh it doesn't, didn't you know? It's all a part of the circus, can't have a full blown disaster with a lawsuit.

you should wait until Fox News gets a hold of this story and takes off running with it.

It will BE AWESOME!
Oh no I hadn't even thought of this. I can see the headlines now:
Playing Video Games Leads to Identity Theft.

Well, there goes Sony, looks like we'll be relying on Microsoft for the next non-Nintendo console in order to enjoy the next level of gaming - for a mere $4 a day I imagine.

Joking aside, this doesn't help the situation, I mean yes the people affected do deserve reparations but I can guarantee the lawyers will milk it for all it's worth and more.

That's the thing with online services. You never know if you're truly secure until someone breaks into the system.

It's not a matter of them being sued over "not being hack-proof" as some people claim. It is because of the means in which they stored and transmitted credit card info (unencrypted, plain text that any idiot could decipher). I had to cancel my credit card and pay for a replacement. Sure I didn't get any strange charges and it wasn't much of an issue but multiply the $10 and 20minutes x 80million and you have a pretty big time and money loss. That's not to mention the people who did end up with strange charges because of this.
