I've got an idea. How about all the companies stop making shitty motion controls and make some decent new IPs to stop the sequel parade for a bit.
Wow... he doesn't sound one BIT like a pretentious asshole in this video. Nope. Not even a little.Jumplion said:

But seriously, calling a product that's not even released yet "a huge success" is really pushing the envelop when it comes to asshattery. And the majority of the video was just hating on the Wii. He seems to have forgotten that the Wiimote is basically what Sony is BASING the Move on.
This guys needs his smug little ass kicked. I don't care if Move turns out to be good or not, because that is yet to be seen; he badly needs a beating just for that commercial.
For serious. Take a look at all the 'thumbs down' on the youtube linkviking97 said:obvious fanboy is obvious. its supposed to be joke dude.
You may be right, but I think there is room for both, and as much as gamers talk about how 'awesome' the interfaces in SF movies are, it is strange that they don't see Kinect as one of the steps bringing us to that reality. In the end, Move is using tried and tested technology, as popularised by Nintendo, and demoed in the past with other camera tech (tracking the diameter of the glowing ball as a means to track movement in 3 dimensions) and prior accessories for motion control (PC controllers, the Tilt Pac and so on). Whereas Move will always be a game controller, I can see Kinect having wideranging impact on interface design and Human Computer Interaction for our future. Both will excell in their respective missions, here in the now.Ubermetalhed said:Yeah true, I think I was being overly biased towards the Kinect. But I think Kinect is the weaker of the new motion ideas, I find the lack of a controller puzzling, it's so obviously limiting. I think Sony are just doing the clever thing and implementing a controller, coupled with the eyetoy bit they pip microsoft and allow a whole range of games to be developed instead of what appears on microsoft's part as predominantly 'party games'.UberNoodle said:I would think that stupidity would be to write the technology off as 'an Eyetoy' because it clearly is much more than that. I guess it is an 'Eyetoy' like a vintage car is a modern one. Both Move and Kinect are capable of awful useage. They both are clearly going for different goals. That Kinect will be illsuited for some of the things Move would excell at, is obvious, but the same is definate the other way.Ubermetalhed said:Umm... no shit?
I think it's obvious that kinect has vast flaws seeing as it has no controllers so equalling limited types of games. Sony took the logical decision.
I think Microsoft will end up bringing out a similar controller when they realise the stupidity of relying on an eye-toy.
I personally would not buy either, but wouldn't dismiss Kinect as you did, just as I wouldn't dismiss Sony's tech as a 'Wii clone'. Besides, it uses the Eyetoy for facial recognition and pixel based tracking as well.
We'll see what happens though, but i think Sony's is the better of the new devices.
I never said it was, but buttons don't make something hardcore, it's like saying petrol makes your car look more badass. The Ambrosian said:Because the Wii is soooo hardcore.

I guess that saying that Move is based on the Wiimote was pushing it, and for that I apologize. But I meant it when I said that he needs his smug ass kicked. A joke in a Sony commercial at Nintendo's expense is just being a dick. Also note that I have played my PS2 more than either my Wii or 360, and that I plan on getting a PS3 when I start a job next month. So please don't call me a fanboy.viking97 said:obvious fanboy is obvious. its supposed to be joke dude.
Really? Are you really taking this commercial seriously? It's just a funny advertisement with a few sly jabs at the competition, haven't you seen Kevin Buttler's other commercials?KingKamor said:Wow... he doesn't sound one BIT like a pretentious asshole in this video. I've seen his other commercials, and I hated those, too. So I'm an idiot for being annoyed by someone who is intentionally being annoying? Does not compute.Jumplion said:Really? Lighten up, Kevin's been doing this for [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWLVJVlUE68] a [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCAJw8vbJWc] long [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkvAZ3dn-jQ] long [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH08Mslk_to] time [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgwNyb80L0s]. i apologize for calling you a fanboy. troll would have been more appropriate.KingKamor said:I guess that saying that Move is based on the Wiimote was pushing it, and for that I apologize. You know what else has about as many buttons as that lightbulb thing? A wiimote.monnes said:QFTIrridium said:Yeah, buttons are good.
You know what else has buttons? The controllers we've been using for years!
I'm beginning to feel that the motion controllers won't just be an addon, but become the dominating controller form.
