First off: I gotta stay on top of this stuff, as the thread grew by a page while I played TF2...oliveira8 said:Whatever he said. I still say that PS3 vs Xbox 360 discussions are pathetic when Nitendo Wii has already won and is spending all the Wii money on booze and whores.
But yeah, Nintendo in terms of sales has totally won the console/handheld wars. Kinda pointless to argue otherwise. I think that the PS3 might not have a 7 mill tail-behind on the 360 if it had been cheaper from the start, but hey, whaddya gonna do?
In the end, Nintendo showed us hardware doesn't matter: innovation and appealing to a broad audience does.
Dingo...I'm warning you, you were on my good side. Don't start another war when we were starting to be civil. It may be your opinion that the 360 has nothing good coming out, but that's your opinion. Others think differently.Indigo_Dingo said:No. There's really no genre that the Ps3 doesn't deliver on extremely well with its 2009 line-up, while here's no genre that the 360 actually delivers something valid or interesting on.
Sorry for spitting up several posts Omni, here's my thoughts:Onmi said:the SIXAXIS is by no means unique or original, but I would have prefered Nintendo use the regular motion control over needing a sensor bar personally. It's been used quite umm... well I would say intrestingly, such as the Tornado gun in Ratchet and Clank, Flying in Ratchet and Clank, and well... Ratchet and Clank used the SIXAXIS well, though it took a while to get down.
Valkyria Chronicles is an underrated GEM that got left in the dust by Sega not producing enough to fill a small store, but it seemingly crosses Sakurs Wars combat with shooter elements in an SRPG setting.
...
I believe your refering to the 360 being cheaper, at which point I say so what? Games won't be any cheaper on the 360 and the majority of it's games are avaliable on the PC.
There is nothing that can simply match Dis 3 and WKC on he 360, nor anything that matchs VC, Shooters are another story all together and the PS3 has games which hold more players.
I have still yet to see a mindlessly fun Platformer on the 360.
...
The one game I WOULD consider making the purchase for? Operation Troy? in japanese only so I would have to buy a Japanese 360.
Region-Free PS3 makes me Happy.
R&C does have the best sixaxis controls I've messed with yet, and I have to agree with you that the tornado gun is a wonderful idea, implemented well (though it did mess up sometimes...) I liked the skydiving use more though.
I've heard good things about VK, so when I get a PS3 I'll buy that for sure.
If you could find a ratio of the 360 games that have been ported to computer, I would take that bit a little more seriously... Besides, MS controls both platforms in a way, no?
The next bit: it is true that 60-player games on 360 have yet to appear, but don't use that as an argument unless it's technically impossible for the 360 to do the same. All that means to me right now is that 360 devs don't want to be bothered, and I can hardly blame them: programming online stuff is a pain.
As for the platformer, try Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. I know I shall be shunned, but it is fun, and it also is a simple fighting game as well. Admittedly, there aren't many other platformers sringing to mind at the moment, but I'm sure there's others.
Operation Troy? Got a link to some info I can see?
As for the region-free thing, do all PS3's go like that? If so, I'm suprised: Region-free stuff encourages piracy, does it not? It is cool though.
And I agree with the dude that had the PM idea: from now on, I'll accept PM's with arguments, but to keep this thread clear of futher flak I won't respond to thread posts.
