INFAMOUS! Oh my God! I can get it for free!

Oh, and I might as well pick up Dead Nation, I guess. I mean, it has zombies.

Considering I already have inFAMOUS and LBP, I'd probably end up going with one of the other choices...if I knew anything about them D:

Any care to describe them? :3

I'm glad they're giving inFAMOUS away, that game deserves to be on every ps3. Plus it creates free hype for the upcoming sequel. Smart move :)

For me I'm probably going to get LBP and Dead Nation.

So the games they decide to give away to say "sorry that we fucked up and allowed all your details to be stolen" are all really old games? Not only is the selection horrendously tiny but every game is so old it could be picked up for about £10 now. Why not give away something that's new.

Its bad that I already own the 2 full retail games on the PS3 list. But Dead Nation and WipeOut HD for free? Ain't gonna turn that up.
No, that's not bad. What's bad is I literally own all but ONE of the games on that list: Dead Nation.

Also, I believe that some PS1 classic games are free with Playstation Plus, which we'll also get free for 30 days.

dead nation and little big planet for free? oh hell yes, i gotta get on as soon as i get home. it shouldn't matter that much, the best games on the ps3 are single-player so i didn't need the online that badly. though i do want to register my portal 2 so i can play on steam also, and create my own test chambers

This sucks. I already have all four of those games except Dead Nation.
I know.
I have all of them except for Wipeout. I was hoping for a bit of a broader selection but to tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting much to begin with. I wasn't expecting anything really.

I love how the big titles on the list are good positioning for them with the Infamous sequel on the way and all the additional dlc they can sell with LBP. Like the free psplus, they chose things that will encourage people to spend more. Why not Mod Nation Racers (too recent?) or Warhawk (Starhawk too far away?) too.

Dead Nation is fun btw. I'll probably download LBP and Infamous, then lend out the discs.

One thing that does look pretty cool: do we get to choose 2 ps3 games AND 2 psp games?
It kind of sucks I have the ps3 titles but I don't have any of the psp titles.

Hate to be nickpicky but i'd rather get the points worth of two games instead.
Also is that inFamous 1 or 2? Coz 1 is pretty old and can be gotten for 10 Euro in a bargin bin now.

I'll be getting Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty and INfamous.

And one month subscription to PSN+ is not too shabby either, comes with some fre games too!

Nice one Sony!

The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

Dead Nation
inFAMOUS
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury
This is weird... It clearly says that the games can be kept forever..

However, the Finnish site says:

Ilmaisten pelien ja eksklusiivisten ominaisuuksien käyttöoikeus loppuu 30 päivän tilausjakson päätyttyä.
"The right to use free games and exclusive content ends 30 days after the purchase."

It's probably just mistranslated, the language seems really flimsy. It's still a bit weird.

EDIT: Just to make it clear, the Finnish translation is completely unambiguous, according to the text, you can only play for 30 days. No other way to interpret it.

And yeah, apparently the EU site isn't giving the game away either. What the hell?

Ya know, Sony can offer up all the free games that they want, but that doesn't necessarily mean that consumers will trust them again, or use their service for that matter.

Way I see it, Sony is gonna have to start offering a paid online service, something similar to Xbox Live, so they offer up a stronger online security. And God knows after recieving years of free online service, most PS3 users won't take to kindly to this. So Sony's gonna have to dig deep down and offer up some real incentives for people to come back to them. And not just some games and a few movie rentals.

Main thing they need to worry about right now though is providing their consumers with trust and security. They've got to show everyone that they know they made a mistake, and that they'll work so it doesn't happen again. Sony's got its work cut out for it, that's for sure.
