Sorry, was there a plot there somewhere?

Sorry to butt in, but you really think the plot twist in Bioshock is so simple as "Atlas turns on you"? Did you even play the game?

EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed you said you quit. In which case you have absolutely no right to even acknowledge that plot twist. You seriously have no idea.
OK then, let me guess, you're somehow connected to the city and you're not just there by accident. Is that the twist?
Nope - well, not the major twist...

Pretty much every meatheaded shooter I've unwisely rented. After a while, you kind of stop caring and march from shooting-range to shooting-range hoping it will all be over soon.
Gears of War, for example. Or Resident Evil 5.

It's part of it, I guess.
Ok, gettin warmer...

You're the son of the city's founder...
and maybe something like brainwashing is thrown in there.

Oh and I just remembered that Atlas has a strange fixation with the phrase: "Would you kindly" so does that have anything to do with it?

Bioshock and Dead Space...
I understood bioshock's plot. Ok so it was a case of "oh look a door is locked I must go on a long sidequest to find the key, ok I've found the key, oh noes another door is locked..." for the entire game but I still understood how everything fitted in, and what I was trying to achieve and all that.
And I haven't played dead space
After 5 hours of "oh the door is locked so I must go to this and that so i can get the key and this and that" and NOTHING ELSE I told the game to go fuck itself.
And honestly, if you didn't see the big twist coming from a mile away, you're just not trying...
How the hell did you see the plot twist in Bioshock? Or are you talking about Dead Space... Wait... what is he talking about? Bioshock or Dead Space?
It only takes about 2 hours of gameplay to know that this guy called Atlas is going to turn on you. How do you not see it coming?
he's got a point. It's like "oh that submarine conveniently blew up, meaning there's no proof whatsoever that Atlas is who he says he is. Well I guess I'll just take his word for it. Plus (sorry if this is spoiling the plot for anyone) when the smuggler guy is going on about you working for Fontaine it's kinda obvious."

Actually the submarine blowing up is exactly where I got in the game.

The plot in Modern Warfare 2 made no sense. It was basically just a way of shuttling you between kick ass action sequences.
To be fair, that seems to be the case in most videogames, thats why games have cutscenes.

(Just to be clear: I'm not saying this is a good thing, I personally feel that this technique is holding back games in their story telling ability.)

I remember playing Black, sure there were two men talking about super secret military stuff between levels but I just wanted to make beautiful explosions with my pretty gun.

FFXIII has a rather convoluted storyline, when I played it I wasn't really sure why they hated those giant face people so much.

Almost any of the Resident Evils, hell Code Veronica was by far the worst one. Why the hell did I spend the entire game chasing a crossdresser who wants to bone his sister, what the hell did it accomplish?

Crackdown 1 and 2, I just beat 2 in one sitting for 12 hours in co-op because I have nothing else to do with my time.

I don't know about Dead Space, but Bioshock has very little in the way of plot. It's got a lot of backstory to discover, but the main plot itself consists of about 5 minutes.

Painkiller.
I knew I had to kill the four generals of Satans army, which I guess were the boss fights.
So why the hell am I fighting Ninjas in an opera house, Zombies in a Medieval town, Skeleton Cowboys/Gimps (Its what they look like!) in Venice with a gun that shoots Shurikens and Lightning.
Wait. Why am I complaining? Thats AWESOME!

Already there.
And saying what you think isn't trolling.
