After talking with some friends, we've all come to agree that any media attention will ignore any common sense and latch onto the fact that the "kid" played video games with an unhealthy level of obsession and paid the ultimate price for it. Never mind the fact that he may have been downing power drinks like water to be able to play as long as possible. Never mind the fact that he may have been neglecting small things as sleeping, bathing, and having nutritious meals as opposed to only pop tarts and ramen. (They're not bad to eat as long as there's more in your diet than just that.) If the media has any direction in it, these side details that matter will never be fully detailed and all bial will go towards the only fact that he played a game.
Other articles elsewhere report that he was healthy, does physical exercise, only binge games 1-2 times a week and was performing well in the korean equivalent of college.Straying Bullet said:

I too wonder how can somebody die this easily. When cataclysm came my guildies leveled to max in one go and that took them about 26 hours. Surely they did eat something during that time but they started sleeping when servers went down for weekly maintenance.Kenko said:

What the hell, why did he die? He just kind of happens to die during a bit of a game binge. Which, although it was quite lengthy, wasn?t too serious since it was only 12 hours in which he had enough sense to leave and go feed himself. People don?t just drop dead after 12 hours of behaviour like that. Was there already a health problem present, where games even a catalyst or had this been going on for longer than suggested and he hadn?t been taking care of himself?
If you are going to die I recommend dying this way.
