Okay, this looks bad for us, not the article, the comments in this thread. Can we all agree that if we see this story in the mainstream news we don't compulsivly post/write/phone in that this guy's a lightweight and follow up with self-gratifying tales of how we've done "better" than Moon?

I still don't understand how dying makes him a moron, and he died by playing a computer for only twelve hours. It doesn't make him a moron it just means that something happened to him while playing that triggered his death, I bet when the doctors find the cause of death it won't be completely because of playing the computer for twelve hours.Kenko said:Well hello Mr.Internet Hero. Back to the topic: I will admit twelve hours isn't so bad. There have been people who have played a lot longer but I don't think just twelve hours of playing games triggered his death, it may have been a contributing factor but I doubt it is what killed him. He may have been really stressed recently as it said he was a nineteen year old college student, that is a hard age with all the big stuff happening at his school. So maybe too much stress had an adverse effect on his brain which may have helped kill him. I don't know, I'm not a doctor nor a psychologist this is just my opinions on the matter.

12 hours without water won't kill you. Unless he has 0 oxygen for 12 hours and was way too addicted to care, it has nothing to do with gaming.
There was definitely something else at work here. A reasonably healthy person cannot be killed by a mere 12-hour marathon.
That said, video game excess is indeed a serious problem in South Korea. I'm not sure what the deal is-- there must be something about the society there that subtly encourages such recklessly excessive videogame-playing. Whatever it is, something should be done about it; it may not have claimed this boy's life, but it has claimed others.

I think it's stupid to say he was a child when he is a 19 year old COLLEGE student. He was out in the world on his own he could do that if he wants.
