Why don't they just make the spawn points somewhere where the other team can't reach, like, have it on an elevated surface and the spawners just drop of a short ledge, and nobody can get back up ?
how about ten seconds of invincibility upon spawning. or maybe 3, so you cant use it as an advantage

Exactly.

These people were cheating, and even though the consistent spawns (which are only in domination, a gametype where you aren't just trying to kill people) helped them do that, they deserved the bans they got.

Spawns are a problem in Black Ops (although I've NEVER had to deal with spawn camping), but they are not the issue here.
Holy crap.

I expected to be flamed to Oblivion, honestly, and here you are agreeing with me.

Cool.

and to the people who say they could patch this......what? patch spawn camping? are you high, how would one go about doing that?
Spawn camping is much less of a problem in BO than random spawns that place you near the enemy.

Fixed spawns in Domination Demolition (minor fuck up) is a good thing.

There's nothing to patch here.
i relize that, thats why i asked how they would do that

seriously i know sarcasm is hard to tell on the internet but that was fairly obvious...

Hey, way to punish players for exposing the flaws in your game, Treyarch.
There is a big difference between exposing flaws, and exploiting flaws.

OT: Hope no one on the other team got caught up in all that and ended up getting banned for just trying to beat the campers as opposed to just disconnecting.
It brought attention to the flaw. If nobody did this and shoved it in the treyarch developers I doubt it would get fixed.

We invented the useful application of 'Esc' & 'Quit' and people should learn to use it.. (jokes don't flame me)

On one side if they could do this for every game where there are spawn campers then it'd be nice but as this is just one example of hundreds on you-tube and I have witnessed multiple spawn campers in my time it annoys me.. just because one of their devs discovered it doesn't give them the right to punish players for finding a weakness in game design..

Anyway, its likely these spawn campers will just up their rankage again with more camping and no-one will be any the better because Treyarch fails.. apart from WaW, you guys got it right there..

They just took advantage of a system inside a completely broken game. Good job. You give someone a car that can go 900 Mph, then you give them a speeding ticket, nice fuckin' job.
Most cars now are quite able to break the speed limits.
That is completely true, but the people offering you the car aren't the ones giving you a ticket either.

Sooo... that was meta-sarcasm or something? Because if so, meta-sarcasm is awesome.

Yeah, so the problem here is not the players spawn camping, the problem is Treyarch making the spawns in Demolition preset based on teams. But then Respawn(either the action or the company) does not seem to be something that Treyarch really cares about.

So you punishing ramdom people for pointing out a flaw in YOUR game. You should be proud of this, they've noticed a flaw and abused it and you should notice this and patch it, not punish them.
Agh! The gaming community today!
they are not random people they are people who found a flaw and exploited it to it's fullest extent, not simply exposing it, the took advantage in an unfair and wrong way. they deserve the bans for that alone as it amounts to essentially cheating the game. boosting is cheating, should it get patched? sure, but it's only like this on one game mode not like it happens in every match.

Maybe the people getting beat were in league with the spawn campers, or maybe they're like me and refuse to quit no matter how badly they're getting beat.
Yeah, because campers don't totally suck anyway.

I remember a time in Cod where 60 kills in a single game was considered an amazing feat.

Ah how I miss you Cod 2.

They could update the map to fix it. Change the map so the spawn points are in a secure location. Perhaps an area players can't readily access without having spawned there. But, that would require changing the map in some way, they don't like to release maps without being paid money for it though. Like I said in a previous post, lots of games have preset spawn points, such as TF2, only they make those points secure, and you can't be spawn camped.

Good there is a special place in hell for spawn campers. This makes Treyarch look like a bunch of fucking idiots though. I mean it isn't hard to figure out that putting a spawn point in a online match will only lead to problems. otherwise the bastards with the mechs will just sit there and kill you RAAAWWWRRRRR (sorry FEAR 2 rage slipped in there).

See, this is why I play BFBC2, where the spawns are [nearly] perfect.

Spawn camping can get pretty bad in conquest, but with some flanking skills you can turn the tables.

Dashboarding is the real bullshit here. If you added up all the kill and divided by all the deaths registered in the character stats you would probably get a number larger than 1 because people dashboard out of games to save their precious K/D ratio. Its total bullshit that the 501-8 game losers can just cheat the system and make it so the 283 deaths don't get counted against them. As if the K/D ratio wasn't already pointless enough, its completely invalidated by a broken system.

Question: Why not just implement a system where a newly spawning player in a game with fixed spawn points be invincible until three seconds have passed since they moved from the spawn point?
Would mean that people would be able to escape from spawn campers or get revenge.
They can't do that because that would be actual work and they would have to admit they were wrong. Good idea though, other shoooters did that in the past and it worked out really well.

Why not just put spawn points that are inaccessible to the other team? Maybe give it a killtimer to stop players in TDM just hiding in there?

I still do say that Halo Reach is the most balanced online FPS in the market today.
