I don't know about it being a new Mercenaries game but if it's going to be like it looks like to me from that screenshot and that clip then I think it will lead me to lose all hope that Bioware will ever make anything interesting ever again.

A military game that looks like its set in the real world, with likely no magic or super technology?

*begins slamming head into wall*

I really really hope we are just being teased

As long as they keep making Mass Effect games (I'm pretty sure I read that after they finish Mass Effect 3 they intend to continue making Mass Effect games) I don't really mind

I love how people say that they use the same colours in every game, they can't exactly change the colour of real life things can they? What other colours do you propose they use?

Bad; "a new bioware studio..."
Good;bioware
bad; bioware making a combat centric game
good; making a mercenaries game
bad;making another mercenaries gam
Good;mercenaries with deeper gameplay that bioware has specialised in
bad;"a new bioware..."

my thought summed up if they are making merc inc./mercenaries 3

(addendum)You it's really sad looking at this. All of the different games it could be and none of them are a solid RPG. unless this is an entirely new game altogether. It's like you can see EA trying to figure out what it's suppose to do with bioware.

EA;so what are good at making?
Bioware;RPGs
EA; well what are you working on now?
Bioware; It's called Mass Effect 2, it's a space opera about fighting aliens. It's got a great story and heavy characac-
EA; yeah that's great, it's a shooter right? We've looked at it and it doesn't have enough combat sections. and who are these reaper guys?
Bioware; The reapers? oh they're massive aliens who come and wipe out all life in the galaxy every 10 billion ye-
EA yeah thats great, i think you should get to fight one...
Bioware; you do that in Mass Effect 1
EA;On foot
bioware; What?
EA; Yeah, and it'll be like fighting a giant robot and...
*Mass Effect 2 comes out*
EA; well the review scores for that combat/adventure game weren't any good, so what are you good at?
Bioware; RPGs
EA; hmmm... well there isn't any money in that. Well there is some in MMORPGs, but what can beat WoW? i know, STAR WARS! yeah make a STAR WARS MMO.
*End of TOR beta*
EA; hmmm... well these beta reviews aren't very good, so you guys can't do an MMO. What can you do?
Bioware;RPGs
EA; There's no money in that, Shooters that what you guys make right? Like that Mad Effect game? yeah shooters. Oh i know you can that mercenaries game! you have the guys from pandemic right? Yeah make that mercenaries game!

Not Knights 3. So once again another potentially mediocre game is on the cards. Bioware you really went down hill when you made Mass effect...

Oh, great...ANOTHER war-FPS. Yeah, I'm speculating. Hey, what am I supposed to do here with a two-second footage of the game?

I like BioWare and all, but the last thing I wanna see is another FPS, no matter how "original" it is. This year alone, we had Brink Homefront, GoW, CoD, Battlefield, Rage, and who knows what else.

Please don't let this game be any of that. Please let me wrong...
Don't worry, Mercenaries isn't a dull brown/grey FPS. Mercenaries is a dull brown/grey third person shooter.

As long as the other branches of Bioware keep making RPGs; it'll be fascinating (if nothing else) to see how this thing turns out.

Hey look, its exactly the same thing that people posted after they saw the new Bioware teaser LAST year.

and that's a credible excuse for adding ANOTHER uninspired military game to a market that's already got FAR to many of them how?

"From a new Bioware studio..." What's that supposed to mean?
This was explained to some extent during EA's press conference at this year's E3. They are branching out their sectors of gaming. Bioware in the process was given more resources and they were given control over some of the smaller development teams(which is where the new would come in from).
So if EA is the publisher, and some other development team is making the game, that makes Bioware what? Middle management? I am thrilled for their promotion. Really, I am.
BioWare isn't just a single entity, you know. Since 2008 it's been made up of several studios, each of which makes different games: BioWare Austin, BioWare Edmonton, BioWare Ireland, BioWare Montreal, BioWare Mythic, and BioWare San Francisco. This is nothing new.

Hmmm, used to be that i'd buy any new bioware game with no questions asked as soon as i had money on me.
And then came Mass Effect 2 and it's chest high walls, limited ammo and simplified character building (not bad game, but i was expecting more), and after that the complete cluster fuck that was Dragon Age 2.

Ah well, SW:TOR is still looking good and i shall remain cautiously optimistic about this new project.

Whoa, hold on, hold on. You might be on to something right there. What if there was a military FPS shooter that was super colorful and bright and happy? Shooting itself doesn't have to be related to war or something depressing. Something like...a Ratchet and Clank game, only FPS at all times? Yeah, something original, with a witty sense of humor and colorful? Or a game about a guy always on shrooms who sees everything in a colorful way...

Think about it. Even if it's a flop, it WOULD be an original game. I would play that even if its just to see if it sucks or not.

...Not only that, but the world itself isn't just a huge grey palette. I wonder if there would be a way to incorporate new elements, colors and environments to this imaginary game. I'm sure there would be.
