What could REALLY be sweet here is if they include this in like a multiplayer dungeon or something, where you have people in multiple ships with different powers and you can take down a star destroyer using certain tactics... It could be a really clever mix of RPG and action elements, I'd love to see it!

Yes it does. However, unfortunately you wouldn't know it by reading the forums. This game has the most rabid pre-release fans. People from WoW, people from SWG, Star Wars fans and BioWare fans who have never played an MMO in their lives..and so on. There's so much complaining, intially just to get space combat, and now that that is in the game, it's not good enough unless it's open space.

I was really hoping for a Star Fox-esque system once I heard it would be "on-rails" (not an accurate way to say it, really). As it turns out, it is. So I'm stoked.

That looks tremendously fun. Heck, I'd probably buy a game comprised entirely of that and be happy with it, let alone getting to run around on foot as a Jedi to boot.

I think what bums me out is that the marketing for this makes it look great.

The last game that looked amazing to me in marketing was SPORE.

SPORE was one of the most disappointing games (if you can call it that) that I've played since Atari.

I don't know why...but I just have a strong feeling this'll do great initially then crumble beneath the waves of reality :(.

Why is it that galaxies could pull off some pretty sweet free world flying but a game how many years later can't...

If i want a fly forward shooter I would hop in the gummi ship for Kingdom Hearts 2. Which if the trailer is anywhere near the initial product, Kingdom Hearts seems to have done it better. Which actually sounds really sad saying it out loud then it did inside my head.

Not surprising. BioWare has always been all about creating these fantastically epic scenarios and experiences for any player of their games.

It looks very disappointing to me just the same. Space combat should have freedom and not be locked into a single, unalterable path. I'm not sold yet.

DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

Starfox 64 (Lylat Wars over here in Europe) was my favourite game on the N64 bar maybe multiplayer Goldeneye.

This makes me want TOR just that little bit more.

For now though, I'm breaking out my N64. Lylat System here I come.

I read the first paragraph, watched the trailer, and the first thought that came to mind was "Oooh, StarFox!" I thought I might get on here to make some sort of witty statement about how I thought it seemed like StarFox and wondered if anyone else did too, then realized the article mentioned my exact feeling. Oh well... I guess its better to think like everyone else than have nothing to think about.
