And here we see why so many Wii consoles are collecting dust.
Mine isn't. My Xbox360 however
You're probably the first person I've seen in a long time to say you still use it.
4 years and still going strong
Had for 6 months, played it for 2.

Bought a decent phone with it though.

So, Nintendo wants less money? I don't get it.
when it comes to storage space the wii is really lacking so they like to keep size small, hopefully the next nintendo system will have a real hd

Eh, I can't imagine it would really matter. SMB targets hardcore gamers, and the Wii has none.

Besides, the PC requires are low as hell, so anyone should be able to get it for PC if it's not out for their console.

I disagree, I think SMB would fit in perfectly in the wii library next to all of the other superb platformers such as Mario Galaxy and DK Country Returns. The Wii controller would be perfect to play SMB with as well, a solid D-Pad and two buttons.

Different streaks for different freaks. I've had my Wii for 2 years and I'm still playing it constantly. I recently got a used 360 for like 50 quid and I only have one game for it (Super Street Fighter IV). That's probably not going to change for a while.

The pretentiousness of those publishers is astounding. They primarily employ third or fourth-string development teams to create Wii titles and then act all suprised that they are not selling millions. This isn't rocket science, the reason for the success of Nintendo titles is quite simple. They employ their best and brightest to develop games for the platform, not some random Joe Shmoe they picked up from the streets. These publishers will have to do the same if they are hoping to achieve similar results.

But to be quite honest, I think the real reason why they are trying to avoid the Wii is beacuse they don't want it to remain successful...afterall, big publishers much prefer console manufacturers that rely mostly on third-party titles, since it forces those manufacturers to help fund and advertise major third-party titles.

Yes, yes it is.
Explain how it's a problem.
The thought that somebody would actually prefer Super Mario Galaxy 2 to Super Meat Boy is quite strange. I'm sorry, I'm just not used to this.
Call the national guard! Someone has an opinion different from yours! Such a crime... (sarcasam) ;3

Super Mario Galaxy 2... better than Super Meat Boy?

HAHAHA OH GOD, thanks for making my night :)
I fail to see the humor in the truth.
There's truth in that post? I can't see it.
Perhaps you need to look deeper.
Nope. All I see is "I'll stick with a better platformer like Super Mario Galaxy 2." Did you leave something out?
And this was funny how?
It's kind of like absurd humor.
Absurd humor?
It's so ridiculous that it's funny.
Ridiculous? Really?
Yes, it is.
Do explain. Because I don't find it ridiculous
It isn't obvious? Read your post, it says "I'll stick with a better platformer like Super Mario Galaxy 2."
Maybe one day people will learn the futility of arguing personal values.

Its not like they're losing a vast amount of sales. A large proportion of the Wii install base would crumple like paper under SMB's horrific difficulty.

Not in the least, Galaxy 2 is by far the better game.

That's what I said. Since "Edmund McMillen of Team Meat says there's a simple reason Super Meat Boy isn't coming to WiiWare: Nintendo's limitations on the platform" and also they said "Right now we have talked to three larger publishers who have passed on the title because they believe Wii retail is a bad idea profit-wise," McMillen explained. "Most places we have talked to believe that only Nintendo brand games sell well on their system and don't even understand why we want to release Wii retail." Since this game will be bad as a download and retail because of the wii's limitations. Yet Super Mario Galaxy 2 is superb. Gee.

The two really can't be compared. It's like apples and purple monkey dishwashers.
Honestly, guys, JediMB has the right idea. They're two completely different games, they can't be compared. Although it's nice to see that it's been this civil for so many posts. Now c'mon, fellers, step away from your keyboards all slow like.

So it's not just me? Hopefully, next year will get more use out of it...

Between my brother and I, we will be getting Sonic Colors, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Kirby's Epic Yarn--Can't wait for more platforming bliss.

Right now we have talked to three larger publishers who have passed on the title because they believe Wii retail is a bad idea profit-wise," McMillen explained. I hope Nintendo doesn't get plagued with this problem next generation. People were generally correct early on when they assumed a non-Nintendo game would be poor quality. The quality picked up, but "hardcore" gamer mentality didn't change...really sad.

Nintendo... You aren't helping your shit third party situation.
Oh well, I probably wouldn't play it on Wii, anyway- I prefer keyboard controls for that kind of platforming because of my lengthy experience with Knytt.
