Oh please. Now these idiots realize the comic book industry is liberal? That's almost like coming to the epiphany that Stephen Colbert, is in fact, not on Bill O'Reilly's side.
i think stephen colbert would disagree with your assumption. he's totally on the stupid, inflamatory and misguided/misinformed selfish bastard side.

Remember kids, if you say you care more about the global community than the glorious "GOD BLESSED" America, then you are an anti-American scumbag that promotes radical [anything not originating in America] agendas and the destruction of American values and lives!

..And I wish that was sarcasm for most of those comments posted, sadly.

Although it is still humorous that the American right is getting up in arms about a character that is practically what illegal foreign immigrants are in reality in regards to American society today. I suppose if they were superpowered illegal foreign immigrants, they'd have no issue with them. But normal human ones?

Fuck 'em!

So because Superman wants to help the entire world, he betrays America?
Huh. I am okay with it.

Oh lord, Superman helps everyone now. He must be *gasp* SOCIALIST! Someone call Glenn Beck!

Jesus Christ, People. Seriously? He's just telling a story. Not everything has to have meaning.

So instead of Superman actually using his powers and DOING SOMETHING, like he USUALLY DOES, he needs international approval to STAND THERE AND LOOK PRETTY and PROTEST? Superman is not a bullhorn, he is a fist. And I'm sure within a week Linkara will be all over this.

EDIT: I wasn't clear enough. In the scenario he's going to go help protest. This is the man who liberated planets with his fists, he could sumply go in annd personally capture the regime in question with little effort and not even a scuff on his tights. His giving up citizenship is actually 100% unnecessary and I smell Frank Miller.

I do understand Superman being a global force for good, but at the same time, it's really odd to think of him as no longer being an American.

Why couldn't he be a good-deed doing American? Definitely distance himself from being seen as the government, sure, but does he have to be completely unassociated with a nation to help others?

Oh well.

Honestly, i think this is a good thing! Superman needs to be more global, but then again i'm am the sort of person who doesn't like patriotism, because in my humble opinion it is thinking your country is greater because you live there.

Superman has been protecting the world, heck the galaxy, for ages now, but I think maybe renouncing his citizenship is a little too far, because as has been previously stated, he is the epitamy of the American ideals, which anyone of any nation would approve of.

Captain America was more American hero then Superman

Though Im not sure if Capt is alive....well ya know....at the moment!

I think Fox is upset that he helps the protesters....since he should have just nuked everyone who isnt American....or believe in God....etc etc

Meh I don't give a danm about Fox say in this as it sound logical for a superhero hero who had been alway about being good etc to take up the challange on a global level not just one part of it.
Still using real world references had sometime a touchy subject in the comic community. I can get how he was (character history not his origin) created in the US but he is a super being to save the world not a part of it so it make more sense to have him more of a global appeal (I mean his color scheme is blue, red and yellow, not white).
