As much as I enjoy sex, I can definitely understand the correlation. Honestly I'm surprised that survey reached 70%.

If this is true, then 100% of the sexual partners of those remaining 30% of women need to seriously up they're game in bed.

Seriously this just says lots of women are satisfied with they're gaming, but lots are unsatisfied with they're sex life. Yeah I don't see the correlation either.

Wait, are sex and gaming exclusive from each other? Because I have a tale that would probably get me a warning here that would suggest otherwise.

This doesn't look like a comparitive study at all, they didn't ask them "Which do you prefer, sex or gaming?"

They asked them two completely unrelated questions instead, and drew a conclusion from it...

Hmm .. again with the slightly dodgy market research question. I wonder if they had an option that was like "I don't do xyz", that is, they say "do you enjoy sex?", and the possible answers are a. yes, b. no, c. I've never tried; and they probably removed or disregarded those who said 'c'.

My basis for this thinking is simply that I really don't think 100% of women play video games regularly; therefore when it says "84 percent enjoy their gaming sessions"; I figure half of the women surveyed were thinking back to primary school when they tried mario on the gameboy. My sister hasn't played a video game in 26 years (it was Carmen Sandiego on the Apple ][c), but if you asked her if she enjoyed it, she'd say yes. Ergo, she'd be part of the 84% who enjoyed their gaming sessions.

I don't know what she'd say about sex .. don't really want to think about it.

LOL ... and another note, stereotypically, the women are probably not having sex with the kind of guys who play video games all the time ... ergo, guys at The Escapist shouldn't feel threatened. Just remember, if you were the one getting all that sex, she'd be satisfied!

The survey did not account for the fact that 90 % of the female respondents were dudes roleplaying as females.
This. I practically pissed myself laughing.

EDIT: Also, 3.5 hours a week does not make you a gamer at all. 30 minutes a day is pretty weak.

Calumon: They like games better than them being a girl? That's silly.

Jack: ...Yes, let's go with that.
I love you, Calumon. You're awesome. <3

On topic, introduce me to a guy who doesn't just want sex and a personal servant, and the games will be less interesting.

God fucking dammit. I wish people needed a license to use statistics. As a statistician, nothing enrages me more than someone outright exploiting my science like this, especially for something juvenile and immature.

But...but... it does mean that among women gaming has a higher satisfaction rate than sex. Or should I say climax rate?
The questions weren't worded like "which do you find more satisfying?", but most likely something like "which of the following activities do you find enjoyable?". Thus a participant could have answered that they find all activities are enjoyable, none, or somewhere in between. You can't really reach that conclusion with that style of wording.

In addition, the 84% number is from that group of women who do play online games. It doesn't give us the proportions for 51% of women who are not classified as gamers, nor the proportion for the two groups combined.

Besides, its very probable that the sample itself was shit (ie it wasn't representative), so that totally negates all the findings in the survey. It's just a moronic poll that has zero reliability, and is a disgrace that something like this would get posted on this website.

Seriously. Why isn't there a law that requires someone to have a license to cite statistics?
You're misreading a pun making fun of Doritos treating satisfaction as an on/off switch? This must be the most valid reason why you shouldn't need a license to conduct shitty surveys: they're pretty damn amusing.

I'd like everyone to re-read this passage. Every statistic quoted after the percentage that plays games online comes from that percentage of the polled population. What it says is, of the 49% of women who play games, more of them enjoy playing videogames than enjoy having sex. Considering that women often have a difficult time having satisfying sex, the 70% figure is not all that ridiculous. If anything the surprising statistic is the 16% of women who play videogames online but don't enjoy it; why go to all the trouble of gaming on a regular basis if you don't enjoy it?

(Credit goes to the guy on the facebook comments who pointed this out before I did; I noticed it independently, but he got the word out first.)

This survey is silly... it's sex vs. games ratio is noted specifically within girls who play online games. Not all girls, not even girls who game but not online (like me). Given the choice between grinding through Final Fantasy 13 some more and having some 'private time' with my fiance... just gimme enough time to run to a save point and I'll huck the controller out the window. I imagine these girls just need to do the same thing as the guys- turn off bloody WoW and go meet someone already!

Ahahaha!!!!

research also shows that water gives you cancer!

Seriously, unless you can prove to me that women would choose fiction over real life, than your survey is CLEARLY incorrect.

Let's go with that...shelter Calumon as long as you can :3

OT: As mentioned above in a post...didn't really ask which they thought was better...only preferred. Playing games is a stress reliever..>.>

Captcha: Train surfing.....ok....sounds dangerous and fun.

I feel trolled.

Also, if I could have sex with a significant other instead of a video game, I'd do it, no question. I can play video games when said other is not around.

Doritos... pfff.

Are all of the women being surveyed having sex regularly? This could be a case of lack of sex = unenjoyable. For games you can go to the corner store and buy one whenever you want. Hell half the time you don't even have to leave the house. For sex you can't do that...well legally anyways.

The statistics are the other way around - There are just more Games than there are Women, and Games cause Sex.

Clearly im not incredibly tired. :)

OT: This doesnt overly surprise me.
