I seriously have to ask, who exactly complained that "blind playthrough" was offensive exactly? No one has ever used those term to mistreat or misinterpret anything close to being related to the blindness handicap, so, really, who the hell complained and why does Twitch have to ban such mundane use for the 10 persons? Some blind really complained because they couldnot find "blind" content on a video streaming site????????? Or people were trying to find real "blind" people streaming and found those play-through? I mean WTF?! This just make no sense at all... *sigh*
Most likely nobody. But Twitch has people to do exactly this sort of stuff and inclusivity and diversity define some people's careers or at least their online presence nowadays. Thus there is no shortage of people that Twitch staff can consult over any similar issue.

What's next, you can no longer stream violent video games on their platforms, like CoD and Fortnite?

Among them is a ban on “making derogatory statements about another person’s perceived sexual practices or sexual morality.” The policy goes on to say that would include “repeatedly negatively targeting another person with sexually-focused terms, such as ‘whore’ or ‘virgin.’”
And this is for harassment purposes. "Simp" is used just as often in a sarcastic way for oneself as it is in a derogatory manner. Basically you can't call a female streamer's viewers simps or virgins. And similarly streamers can't call their own viewers incels or virgins even if they go full Nice Guy™ Also another point: streamers' personal drama gets into the headlines (relatively speaking) ever so often and it often considers their personal relationships. This curbs discussion about that a lot. Gossip will be there, but bringing up someone's unfaithful past for example could violate this rule. And of course Twitch isn't forgetting to protect their hunnies: criticizing titillating streamers will be bannable from now on.

You can ban simps but you can't ban simping. It's a lot of streamers' business model, after all.

But yeah the virgin and incel ones are just funny. It's not common that they ban things that are primarily being used against white males lol.

I think Twitch should change their name to something that doesn’t imply an insult to epileptics or people with some form of turrets. I mean, what the hell were they thinking with that one?

Even if they were going for purely a gaming connotation, that would be discriminating against all the other games not requiring such reflexes.

They are really that pathetic. that's not going to stop people from using it, even if they can't tag it.
Ive been wondering if they are actually getting ready for a 230 repeal. Because this is exactly what they would legally need to do if that happened

Wouldn't they need to ban all the thots that cause simping to be occuring though? Because presumably sending sexual material to minors is illegal corruption of a minor and parents would be able to sue twitch if their 14 year old was exposed to those body painting sessions that all somehow happen to focus on the tits and not on like, your upper arm or what have you, or whatever else they do there lol.

Did you see the news about PornHub? Because they are probably doing the verified thing to deal with similar situations (but obviously sex, not body painting).

Actually no. Are they IDing users or something? I heard something like that happening in europe but I'm not sure if it's what you're referring to.

Pretty much anything that isn’t by a verified partner has been completely removed. 10 million video removed, leaving only 3 million

If these two incidents happened separately, no one would blink an eye. But two in the same week.... something must be coming. You don’t just delete 3/4 of your site.

My thoughts are encapsulated in a twitch streamer's tweet below:

My thoughts are encapsulated in a twitch streamer's tweet below:
That's just not accurate though. Blind implies you are going in blind, meanwhile you can look up stuff about the game, even read a guide or a walkthrough, and if you've never played the game before it'd still count as a first playthrough, but it'd not qualify as a blind one.

The point of a blind playthrough in the context of a stream is that you get to see the gamer first experience something and their genuine, original reaction to this information. If you've read spoilers or seen others play through a game it may still be your playthrough but that aspect of discovery and the reaction to this discovery would not be the same.

I kinda feel like I'm having to explain 2+2 = 4 here, is everyone an alien who doesn't understand why people care for blind playthroughs and is just being overly literal and basing their opinions on things they read instead of having authentic first hand knowledge here?
