This is likely to be illegal. Might be worth having a word with the local police about it. Make sure you have proof of purchase and if possible proof of refusal to deliver or resolve issue.

Love Sainsburys in the UK (a supermarket in case you didnt know), every time a new CoD comes out they do it for £30 (originally £45) on the day, meaning i get it cheaper than my friends who preorder (Lol suck it) and amazon always delivers late so I get it earlier too

The equivelant to Gamestop in the UK is GAME.

After they got my copy of Deus Ex: HR to me 4 days late, I decided to take my business somewhere else.
I have had a lot of trouble with Game too, thats why I order most of my stuff online instead.

I had some great service from www.shopto.net. They are very efficient and have decent prices to boot. An example was when I Pre-Ordered CoD Black Ops - Hardened Edition and it came on the day of release about 1 in the morning, so I was able to play it all night on day of release!

Can you sue them?
Srsly, look in the terms and agreements if there were one and see if it covers anything like this. YOU COULD MAKE 1 MILLION DOLLARS! *cue dr. evil circle jerk*

I think the answer is very simple. "Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me; Fool me 5 times..." You sir/madam/hermaphrodite deserve a mercy killing for being so stupid.

The other answer besides mercy murder is to go to the competition or get Steam (Love Steam).

Speaking on a personal note though; I have never once had trouble with EB Games (A branch of Gamestop). I am friends with the manager, and the people who work there. I also very rarely ever hear a complaint coming from costumers or the staff (I remember when Dave *Manager* took down Mindjack from the shelves because he wanted to save everyone from bad taste).

EDIT: I thought it would be nice to not be a dick. You might want to threaten to sue them, either that or heavily revise their consumer agreements. Fraud is fun!

I hope this story is an exaggeration, because really you should call somebody about that or something because that's just plain criminal.

As for me, the only problems I've had with Gamestop have been the fact that they are REALLY pushy when it comes to trying to get you to pre-order stuff. I remember there was this really annoying employee, she kept asking me even after I said no, and then she would ask me why, and then I would make the mistake of saying "I don't have the money right now." which she responds with "Oh but you only have to put $5 up front and not have to pay full price until you buy the game!" which admittedly that's a pretty good deal, but she wouldn't take the hint that I didn't want to pre-order anything.

But either way, I still shop there monthly and I won't let one fairly annoying employee stop me from what has been pretty good service so far.

You got your copy? I preordered it back before the rollback date, and a week before the 23rd, I was told they cancelled my order without my knowledge. Thy also kept the $80+ I paid for the game online. I emailed GS, and the conversation was more or less the following:
Me: hey, could Someone tell me what happened to my order? The number was xxxxxxxxxx
GS: sure, lemme check! What was your order number?
Me: I just told you, xxxxxxxxxx
GS: oh, I'm sorry, there was a slight problem in our books. You see, when you went to correct the address we got wrong when creating your PowerUp card, our system qualified this as an identity theft. You were given two emails and a 48 hour notice.
Me: Like hell I did! Forgive me for not wanting my game to be sent over to f***ing China! Give me my damn game or my damn money back.
GS: We're sorry, due to Paragraph Q, Section 3, subsection 1, small print Alpha, we are legally entitled to your money and order if you try and fix our problem. We'll also be at your house Sunday to pick up your dog and your car. We'll also be back in a few years for your firstborn son. Have a nice day!
Me: $@&$!?#%*?*¥+?=?!!!

They've never screwed me over. Except I always have to ask about pre-order bonuses, if I want to get them. I've got friends who work there, though, so I often deal with them. But even online, my orders arrive earlier than expected, I get good service, and they always go out of the way to help out.

Heck, one of the employees even gave up his pre-order of a game, just so I could buy it. I didn't have it reserved. He just said "Hey, man, we don't have it in stock, but I had one pre-ordered for myself. You can have that one".

There are two Gamestops in my town, one is great, the people are nice and helpful and they have a good selection. They Were the only place on the western slope of Colorado that had El Shaddai. The other is a piece of crap. so it really varies from store to store. With that said that sucks dude, im sorry.

5 times they screwed you???

You must be a masochist.

Every company can make mistakes and whatnot. But if i get screwed more then once in a short time, im taking my business elswhere, i am not getting fucked 3 times by a(ny) company that doesn't care about being honest to it's customers. Plenty of compatition!

I've never had an issue with any Gamestop and there are two nearby I go to. Soon to be three. It may help that I went to school with one of the managers but even before he worked there I had no problems.

I had one minor issue when I picked up Space Marine last week. My preorder code didn't print. However, I knew it should have and they had said their internet was borked for a moment so I double checked before stepping out of line. Sure enough, no code, I informed the cashier and he promptly got the manager. He didn't know how to print the backup code for errors such as that as he had just started. The manager showed him and I got my new receipt. I was out the door with my game and code in under 10 minutes.

Question: Does Walmart have a preorder system? Are they reliable?

Because it seems like there are a whole lot of horror stories out there of people who have been screwed over by gamestop and I rather not do business with them.
Most posts in general are complaints. Gamestop wouldn't be in business if all of them were terrible. People rarely post complimentary threads. Basically what I am saying is don't trust the internet. We're all atheists, hate mongers, and pervs up in here.

It seems to me that Gamestops are hit and miss. The ones ive been to are rather nice, and Ive heard just as many good stories about them as i have bad.
Same thing...the one I go to works great...I've missed a few preorders CE's by like a day...but thats just because I'm slow.

That's your fault bro.

"fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me."
I cant believe I get to use this!

Full of sarcasm and amazingness to deal with the issue of being fooled more than 2 times. :D

Same deal with me. My Gamestop is always great. I also enjoy chatting with the employees. Heck, they recommended me Limbo, which I love dearly.
