The Escapist Film Festival is a chance for up-and-coming actors, producers, directors and writers to submit their web video series for a chance to win an exclusive paid contract with The Escapist. The Film Festival deadline is October 29th at 11:59 EST, so keep that in mind while creating your masterpiece.

The choice for the overall winner and who will get the contract is the choice of The Escapist team alone. Viewer's Choice is something fun to do and gives bragging rights to the winner. Does that mean we won't ever work with them? Who knows, the sky is the limit and there are a lot of great directors out there.

So... the one who wins the real prize is the one who will make you guys the most money whilst entertaining us.

You're right, I think I have the creativity to do something interesting, but having no friends readily available to help with such a task is a downer.

Sure, we could probably think something up ourselves, but what fun would that be.

On a similar point, has anyone here tried making a video with fellow Escapists? That would be pretty cool.

Regarding the rule "Content must be original to the contest."

Does this allow for promoting the entry prior to its inclusion in the Film Festival? For example, creating a Facebook page for a web series, with its title, logo, and promotional images/video - essentially everything but the entry video itself?

IMPORTANT STUFF PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
We convert whatever you send to us into a standard format that our video player likes. The submission specs are designed with this in mind.

Don't send us a 1GB 1080p super-high-quality MOV, even if it's less than 5 minutes long. Assuming it doesn't immediately break something, the conversion process will knock it down to something manageable - which is what the judges will be watching anyway.
