The choice for the overall winner and who will get the contract is the choice of The Escapist team alone. Viewer's Choice is something fun to do and gives bragging rights to the winner. Does that mean we won't ever work with them? Who knows, the sky is the limit and there are a lot of great directors out there.
So... the one who wins the real prize is the one who will make you guys the most money whilst entertaining us.

does this have to be the first episode of a series or can it be like, a promo for the series?
It can be a promo or a first episode if you like.

I've got a question: I registered to enter this contest (Hi everyone, by the way :) ) and forgot to confirm my account. However, I submitted my video before confirming it and everything was fine. Does that mean my video is really uploaded or do I need to resubmit after I confirmed my account?

Thx a lot ^.^

I would totally do this, I think I'm pretty funny as do other people.
I just don't have the resources or friends to do it with :(
You're right, I think I have the creativity to do something interesting, but having no friends readily available to help with such a task is a downer.

Sure, we could probably think something up ourselves, but what fun would that be.

On a similar point, has anyone here tried making a video with fellow Escapists? That would be pretty cool.
Same here kinda, but this year I'm going to try to get some thing together.

Regarding the rule "Content must be original to the contest."

Does this allow for promoting the entry prior to its inclusion in the Film Festival? For example, creating a Facebook page for a web series, with its title, logo, and promotional images/video - essentially everything but the entry video itself?

Nope, one per person please.
So if my friend and I collaborate on two videos is it okay to submit one with his account and one with mine? Or would that be considered multiple entries?

Alright, I submitted my Video into the Escapist. 2 things:

1: Did you guys get it?

2: Where do I send my Legal Consent Waiver?

UPDATE: I re-uploaded it cause I wasn't Sure if you guys got it or not. I hope you guys did get this one though if you didn't get it the last time.

Got everything shot, best shoot ever as well. Now it's just down to the editor, hope he can pull it together in time what with mid terms and stuff.

Fingers crossed and all that.

Just curious, you got mine too, right?
Yes. We have your submission.

IMPORTANT STUFF PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
We convert whatever you send to us into a standard format that our video player likes. The submission specs are designed with this in mind.

Don't send us a 1GB 1080p super-high-quality MOV, even if it's less than 5 minutes long. Assuming it doesn't immediately break something, the conversion process will knock it down to something manageable - which is what the judges will be watching anyway.

Feel free to PM me directly if you have questions about rendering with our conversion process in mind, or if the specs listed are unclear.
