The battle became too condensed to use a weapon like the staff or the grosse messer, but Dragon didn't wish to pull out his daggers again. Instead he twisted a switch at the center of his staff. With a click it separated into thee sections linked by chains.

He moved forward, holding the two outer sections, deflecting a wild sword stroke and smacked the assailant over the temple. Another noticed Dragon's presence and stepped forward to stab, only to have his sword caught as Dragon used the staff to entangle the blade, then twisted to throw him.

Dragon went to knock hi out when he noticed movement to his right, grabbed the middle section and whipped another assailant across the face with the left section, whipped the fallen assailant from earlier in the stomach, disrupting his breathing and knocking him out.

Two men dead, three men dead.

A Royal Guard next to the King fell stricken.

The battle was bound to be bloody if it continued. Which it would have, were it not for the old man.

He raised his walking stick and, suddenly, it transformed into a solid column of flame stretching from the ceiling to the floor. Lines of flame were loosed from it, hitting the black clad men. They were consumed in the flames in moments, sometimes the flames simply going straight through them.

Within moments, they were all dead.

The the old man was unconscious on the ground, sweating a fierce fever. The man with the amulet, whom had interrupted the original audience, came forth and had the man carried away by more guards. Suddenly, soldiers came flooding into the room, forming a circle around the king, excluding the others.

The man with the amulet approached them.

"You! Yes, you, the lot of you. I need you know. Come, come with me to the courtyard!" He motioned furiously with his hand as he kept a steady pace of walking. The old man, and his walking staff, were being totted off.

Used to following orders Jack followed the man with the amulet. As he made his way to the courtyard he couldn't help but ask "What in the world just happened, and what will happen to that old man?".

Dragon twisted the center of his weapon, pulling its three sections back into a single staff, then followed the man. He heard Jacks question.

"Don't know. But I think that stunt he pulled proved he's legit" He says and keeps walking

OOC: Sorry for not posting I had completely forgotten about it...

IC: James follows the rest of the group, only stopping for a second after noticing a purse on one of the black clad figures. He uses one of his daggers to slice the string keeping it on the man and pockets the purse, thinking to himself "I'll check what's in it later."

 

[Time Travelling Toaster]

"Huh guess he could do magic then." grunted Andrew as he followed Dragon down the hall, he seen James taking something from one of the men and laughed to himself.

 

[Mordereth]

The man lead them out into the courtyard and swiftly rounded on them, swiveling on his heels.

"Now! You saw what that man did. We have reason to believe that walking stick of his is somehow connected to the Tarnished Font." He paused. "Yes, shocking but we believe we have re-located the tarnished font. Though it's not too good of news. It's in the Southern Market District, and a jail there has just gone rouge." He twisted his lips in contempt.

"So, you will serve two purposes: One, get to the center of the jail, and two, release the prisoners and start a riot. Well, releasing them will be a riot in it's own right, but never mind that. You'll need to open it anyway." He pointed to two Royal Guards walking down a path near them. "Oi! You two. Show this group of people to the Main Square Sanitarium. Understand?" Two gilded winged-helms nodded in unison, and turned to the group. "Right, now I'm off to go look at that walking stick!" He turned around to face the large three-story doors to the keep.

"We'll take you whenever you're ready." Said the guard to the left.

The man with the amulet had already walked off. Evidently he had no time to take questions.

"I believe we're ready." said Odin.
"Lead the way now."

"Odin, while I agree with you I would like to know what or who our enemy really is."
"As of now we only know we have to deal with men gifted in the arts of stealth." Jack said lightly kicking the black clad body.
"And for all the guards in a prison, even one in the south markets, to suddenly rebel troubles me greatly. My liege I have the feeling you are not truly divulging all the information you know. If you know any more about the current situation,my king, we need to know right now. Or else we stand a much greater chance of failure."

Alec felt weary and scared after the guards had brought him to the empty room with the broken door and had left him to go investigate some commotion in the throne room. Alec waited a minute before he heard a huge a huge whoosh of air and an intense heat picking up his beloved flail he left the room to investigate.He soon found his way to the throne having been there many times as a servant. "Good thing they let me keep my fleece" thought Alec as he moved through the chilly throne room to the courtyard just in time to see a man with an amulet leave a group of well armed people. Determined to get some answer's he approached them

Martin stood near the back of the group, cleaning and sharpening his sword. "Are we getting paid to do this? Its just, I don't like risking my life for free. Otherwise, yes, I'm ready to go."

"Who the in the 9 hells are you people?"Alec asked

"And did those guards bring me here?"

 

[Mordereth]

"All we can tell you," said one man to Jack, "is that we believe they are stemming from a syndicate of corrupt guards, with strong ties to the Bogarts. I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up there, before all is said and done. We also believe they steal from the stores in the Terrace, as to other guards they don't seem at all out of the ordinary." The man shook his head.

"We're killing ourselves from the inside. All we need now is a siege and we'll be shoved with only one good leg to stand on." The guard shook his head more.

"Right, when all of you are ready, you'll be coming with us."

The other guard looked at Alec and said, "stop asking unhealthy questions and come with us."

"Well, I guess at this point there really is no choice."Jack admitted
"I'm as ready as one can be."

"Humph, ready as I'll ever be really." grunted Andrew, he wanted the chain mail he'd been working on but that could wait till later, unless there was alot of fighting on the hunt for the font.

Hair Style: A little bit oily, all put behind the ears, and it rides down to the back of his neck.
Appearance: A friendly face but doesn't smile a lot. Big leather trench coat for usual dressing, and a white shirt and a long apron for work purposes.

Weaponry: A set of knives, and one special one, engraved with the letters "M.A.R.I.A", calls it "His Beauty".
Items: Reading glasses, a small flask of bourbon and a lock-picking set.
Other: A napkin he cleans his blades with.

Another guard, leading Rios to the group.

"Oi! Think this is the last one of 'em." He then saluted the others by crossing his spear across his body, and then smartly turned about face and marched off.

Rios looked surprised and shaken and said "Errrr who are you guys? and is this gonna take long? Because if my boss finds out that im skipping work im fired!"
