"Apologies, Mother Superior. We...had a rough night. Our vehicle broke down about three miles thataway," Seamus jerked a thumb over his shoulder in the direction the group had come from, "late last night. I don' know whose idea it was to drive out late in that clunker," here Seamus glared at Frederick, acting to the best of his ability, "but I'd advise them ta invest in a nicer car next time."

Seamus flinched inside, his Catholic upbringing reminding him that it was a sin to lie (and this was the Mother Superior of a nunnery!), but his practicality squelched it. He was going to need a long recitation in the confessional when all this was over. It was almost all of his willpower not to scream bloody murder about having left his RV in New Orleans.
OK, I've been told I've been giving him a Scottish rather than Irish accent. I can't tell, I'm mostly descended from Welshmen and I grew up in Northwest Ohio. Let me know if it's better.

Paddy glared at Gerard and whispered back "Not when you've been through what I suffered at their hands". Turning to the nun he forced a warm smile and said "It would greatly help our study of old english architecture in the countryside. Noticing Seamus' discomfort he put a hand on his shoulder and whispered to him "Don't worry, there's no god going to damn you for lieing".

Charles got up off the hard stone floor, his head still a bit dizzy from the vision.

Knowing he should probably look for the others, he made his way back to the church, as that seemed the most likely meeting place

Njord

He is then jolted by the effects if a stun gun, and blacks out. He is injected with a sedative. The one who spoke before states simply, "Let's get him with others. I don't know what has made them all come, but it helps our work."

Zala's Group

Mother superior sighs, and says simply. "Well, I suppose you really came to see the saint, then, didn't you?"

Charles

Charles returns to the original break through, where Fredrick, Sachiro, and Giorgio are contemplating the key.

"Yes" Gerard said, smiling. "Could you show us there, please?"

He had a feeling this might be what they were looking for.

Charles head was still spinning when he got back to the group

Had he imaged the women or had she been real..?

Looking to Gerard, Fredrick and Sachiro he asked

"Hey, what have I missed?"

Zala wandered with them, pensive as she tried to meld everything that was happening with her view of the world. The opinions of the nuns were of little concern to her. A few calls and she could have an archbishop on the phone who would smooth their path in case of any problems, and Anna was no doubt a more sincere petitioner than she would be at the moment. Italian vogue dresses under a men's Italian suit jacket was not exactly a beacon of purity of purpose.

And staying silent gave her a time to absorb the different reactions of her companions, which all of them together made her wonder if her lack of deep emotion over a religion made her unique or just a fluke. Then there was mention of "the saint" and she perked up. "Yes." She intoned with a chastened air. "If that's alright?" She turned the full force of her "innocent girl" look upon the older nun, probably aided by the way she was soaked through. She tended to look a little like a drowned kitten when wet, much to her chagrin.

Sorry I've been gone guys, holiday chaos swooped in.

How much have I missed? I don't know where I am anymore..Um..lets just say I'm sitting down in the catacombs somewhere. Anyone can pick me up in their story.

You're with Fredrick, Sachiro, Charles and Giorgio.
"That's strange." Fredrick said, in regard to the key. "Certainly something worth looking further into. However, I think we should find the others first, and see what they've found. This is probably a puzzle with many parts." He turned and began walking down the tunnel Zala's group had gone through. "Where did Njord go, Sachiro? I no longer hear his guitar."

Shaun woke up with a snort. He hoped no one had noticed him napping at the back of the group.
"Yea, yea..what Freddy said. What did he say?" He yawned and scratched his head.

Anna couldn't help it. Zala's puppy eyes worked on her too and for a brief moment forgot all about their ages. She smiled warmly at her, feeling a slightly sentimental motherly feeling.

"I'm sure it'll be alright Zala dear," she said kindly, and the nun's strict fearures softened, although she still seemed to reserve a glare for the rest of the group. Probably, Anna thought, because they were men; the ultimate enemy of the nun.

She then thought that that was a bit cruel, but she'd never really liked nuns, even when she was young, because her sister was taken to a convent because she'd gotten a boil, and she'd never seen her again.

"The Saint is farther inside the church, so Sister Fiona will show you inside." The Mother Superior intoned. The sister stepped forwards and motioned for them to go deeper into Saint Michaels, and Anna placed a hand on Zala's back to beckon her forward, like leading a child. She caught herself a moment later, embarrassed. How easy it was to forget the girl was milleniums older than she was!

Still, she reasoned, it made Zala seem younger, which made them seem less suspicious. Still, she couldn't help but feel slightly ashamed at her slip of judgement as they walked together into the shadowy church.

I don't know if I'm being too forward here. This is my first rp, so I'm not sure if I'm stealing people's thunder, moving it along like this.

Gerard had always been fascinated by holy persons and places, and this was no exception. He smiled politely at the Mother Superior, and tried to look peaceful, despite his dirty and partially ruined clothes.

When the nun took Anna and Zala inside the church, he followed, smiling at the irony of their mother-daughter situation.

The church felt very familiar, yet Gerard could not place it in his mind. He kept his eyes open, and scanned every inch of the church with his eyes. This place had awoken his curiosity.

Giorgio, Sachiro, Charles, and Fredrick

Sachiro sighs. "Perhaps you should show me what it is you found. Pardon me if I sound rude, but you two seem rather indecisive about the whole thing...and you barely talk," he motions to Shaun.

"Now, what exactly have you found in there?"

As Charles approaches the group, Sachiro nods, "Ah, another to our group."

When Charles asks the question, Sachiro begins to contemplate, "Hmmm...actually he left a while ago. He didn't say anything really, just something about not being needed or such. I imagine he is outside playing his guitar somewhere for money."

Zala's group

Mother Superior laughs as she watches them go in. It would not matter if they kept the secret of the saint, no one believed the stories, except for those who lived with her, of course.

The church seems a great deal more cramped as they head inside. It would seem that the nuns live a cramped and simple life. The hallways are thin, and some people will find they have to duck through the tunnel. It is a long and twisted way to the Saint, and soon you realize that you may not be able to find your way out on your own. The crumbling edifice is a labyrinth of very old-fashioned and poor design. Soon, the group arrives at the door, where the young nun knocks meekly.

She turns apologetically, "She doesn't usually get visitor's, and only Mother Superior spends much time with her, so this is a warning to make her a bit more comfortable."

There is no response from within, to which the nun nods, and opens the door to the tiny cell. Within is what looks at first like another young nun rocking in a rocking chair. She does not regard the intruders, and continues rocking steadily in her chair. There is only a simple, small bed with wool sheets, a single nightstand and a candle to light the windowless room.

Something about her, especially to the older members of the group, seems distinctly out of place. Her frame is very small, and her skin is a fair deal darker than that of the local people, though not as dark as Zala. She is beautiful, but in a slightly exotic way. Her nose is slightly flattened and her jaw-line is strong. Her eyebrow ridge is curved into deep set, sparkling gray eyes. The suggestion of wispy hairs around her head suggests something lighter than her skin She does not look like any race you have seen before.

The nun begins her genuflection to the saint.

Njord
Njord wakes up in a cell underground...somewhere. The florescent lights blink uncomfortably above his aching head. Several guards mill about outside his cell, chatting idly about their families. You realize you hear a knocking from the next cell over, and you hear someone whisper through a small hole in the right wall, "Oi, you awake?"

"Yeah I'm awake, where the hell are we." He answered groggily then he realized something was missing. "And where the hell is my guitar!"

Paddy stayed at the back of the group doing his best to conceal his presence. He didn't like what was going on and didn't want to draw any attention. This so called saint had thrown him off guard and he was curious as to what had persuaded the nuns that she was a saint. Paddy knew that saints were generally just people glorified by the church, but he could tell there was something different about this person. Forcing himself to sound polite he asked "Could you please tell us what deeds we may attribute to you, saint?".

Zala felt a fond amusement for Anna's reaction, not really surprised as even those who had known her nature all their life often fell to her airs. Although the modern climate toward "teenagers", a thing that was an invention of modern ideas, and in her opinion an idiotic one, had put a significant dent in her feminine allure. She hadn't had a lover in nearly two decades, and a spouse had been out of the question for even longer, although not necessarily for that reason alone. It wasn't merely the mentality of modern men that

When they reached the saint, she let her eyes run over the woman, surprised by the exotic beauty she read there, for there were few forms that remained exotic enough to surprise her. There were similarities to a few races she'd encountered but none of them were definitive enough for her to say there must be some relation, especially as her instincts said no relation existed. That the woman before her was outside of her very extensive experience.

It was an incredibly exciting feeling, like being young again but more potent for all that she could appreciate it. Technology had begun to bore her with its newness of late, but new people would never grow tiring for her.

Anna's eyes widened at the sight of the woman. When they'd said Saint, she'd assumed a statue of some kind, not a living breathing Holy Woman.

Something was wrong with this picture though, she mused. Why was a Saint locked in a cell in the middle of nowhere? that was the place where monsters lived, in the centre of the maze. Why was she here? Come to think of of it, why were they here?

Hopefully someone could provide some answers.

Merry Christmas everyone!

"We found an animate mummy, seemingly trapped in it's coffin by a seal bearing the same marks as that key. There were also some rather unsettling depictions on the walls, that may have brought an alarming new facet of this game to light." Fredrick said to Sachiro. "We left because the walls began to glow, and an ominous moan began to emanate from the center, presumably from the coffin. In my experience those kind of signs usually mean trouble, so we left, and I think it would be wise to find the others, specifically Zala, and see what they think, before pursuing that matter any further." He nodded, smiled, and then started off down the tunnel in the direction Zala's group had gone. "If you don't want to come with me, I advise you to at least not meddle with the coffin room. If my theory is correct, it could be a very dangerous place, even for us Immortals."

"Um, how? What can it do? Fart in our face?" Shaun jutted in on Fedricks comment, completely confused. He needed to get to know all the nanes here, his young, mildly intoxicated mind was swimming with information. He couldn't handle these clever 50 billion year old what-whats.

"I doubt the mummy itself can do anything to harm us." Fredrick said as he continued walking, his legs pushing through the sludgy water. "However, the force that sealed it in that coffin may well be able to. I have reason to believe he mummy is an Immortal, maybe a very important one. The figures carved onto the wall were depicted as being accompanied by the same symbols on the seal and the key, and they were hunting the Immortals." He stopped briefly to consider a side passage, taking the chance to turn and face Shaun head on.

"Basically, I think that there may some kind of power down here that can turn us into mummies and seal us in tombs of glass for all eternity." With that he smiled and turned back to the side passage, regarding it for a moment. "I've got a good feeling about the main tunnel, and that's the way they probably would have gone anyway. Off we go." He began walking again, passing the side passage and continuing on through the gloom.

Does the room Zala's group was in look the same as before, or has it changed? Will Fredrick find that same portal, or is it gone?
