-MOST FRUSTRATING ASSHOLE IN GAMING EVER-
Couldn't agree more, they really don't give you a good chance with that dick head, I pretty much killed him via exploits, and even then it was hard.

As for me the most difficult one I've killed lately is Kai Leng on Insanity Mass Effect 3, damn that was annoyingly hard.

This random desire demon from the end of the Arl of Redcliffe mission in Dragon Age. It wouldn't be too bad normally, except you can only send one person to fight. I picked the blood mage dude, figuring that I could experiment with the specialization. Turns out they're really good at support, kinda crap at combat. Also, he doesn't share inventory, so I had no potions at all. Woulda taken Morrigan about three tries, took him about twenty.

The Tyrant in Resident Evil: Code Veronica X.

Fighting that guy in the cargo hold of a plane isn't very fun.

The actual final boss in Persona 4. It didn't help that I thought the game was over earlier and sold a lot of my stuff for Persona fusing money to finish the Margaret Social Link. But then I was screwing around at the very end and, lo and behold, another boss fight!
So...that was hard.

Oh, and I beat Beyond Good and Evil last night. The final boss is pretty easy, but he gave me fits when the controls get reversed.

Egh...that's a tough one.
It's a toss-up between Mom's Heart, War or Gurdy*.

*(who isn't that tough once you figure out his gimmick. Gurdy Jr. is actually quite a bit tougher since he's much, er, faster)
eugh, try fighting conquest, that guy is an ass.

OT: recently played TBOI, and got to the chest where i fought two of the wretched and 2 bloats at the same time... fucking insane.

Blue Baby in The Binding of Isaac. I 100%'ed this game recently and it was a total pain in the ass.

Tough game, even if luck is more of a factor in deciding success than your skill level.

The second boss in Altered Beast.

Recently been playing some Megadrive games with a friend, one of his favourite games was Altered Beast, which is pretty challenging, the second boss we fluked through our first go but subsequent tries was next to impossible (We now have it down, with correct possitioning we can kill it in under 2 seconds)

Stomped his face in last time I fought. Might have gotten lucky though. I did have Little Maggy and machinegun-like tears at that point.
War was much harder because the room he spawned in had a shitload of rocks.

Ugh..had that room earlier with two Wretched on my last run.
No Bloats, but I had those stupid "Beamos" eyeball turret things instead. (Zelda reference; the statues that shoot lasers)

For me it was The Kraken in The Witcher 2, even after you figure out the trick to trapping the bugger with the right sign it's still a real test of reflexes to kill the damn thing.

Exusia from Armored Core V

Who the hell thought a fast-moving boss with both a homing stunning attack that can be spammed to no end AND a One-Shot kill move was a good idea?!

A massive fire elemental at the end of a dynamic event in GW2... me and a ton of other people took around an hour to defeat it, it kept killing us any time we got anywhere near it XD.

I beat the optional boss Dullahan in Gold Sun: Dark Dawn the other day. He was an absolute *****, took me nearly 45 minutes and countless summons, switches, and revives to finally kill him.

Letho, the main antagonist of the Witcher 2... You can develop a very sound and almost 100% strategy against him, but it TOOK ME A LOT OF TIME to figure it out...
Letho on Dark difficulty was a nightmare the first time i faced him, because I wasn't prepared.

I had to restart the whole game and re-spec myself to get past him.

The Four Kings on New Game+ can scrub my dick, I hate them so much. Took me quite a while to get past them.

Dhaos. it was-bwahahahaaaa!! who am i kidding! it was easy as hell. I fought him again so I could get the final blow and not my wizards lol. Probably Ghirahm final fight I did afew weeks ago in the timed boss challenge. It wasn't even hard until i finally got on the ground and i had trouble stabbing the most under utilized method of attack in the game lol

Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough.

It's my first playthrough of Dark Souls, and I have not once summoned a helper because I don't want to waste humanity to summon one (also I've found you never really need them) and I also haven't used online hints (also because I wish to avoid invasions by douchebags). I didn't understand the way that weapons scale with Dex and Str until a little while before, so I had a Claymore that was decent but could have been better. My best weapon, the Lightning Spear, was amde usless by their resistances to electric damage, which cut off more than a third of the damage it usually dealt. Luckily I had just enough Stamina to block one of each of their regular attacks without losing all of it. Didn't help me against Ornstein's magic, though.

Apart, these two would have been ridiculously easy, both only equating to about mini-boss level, but together they drew out my battle for a while. I had to be constantly backing up with my shield raised as whenever Ornstein would get into strike range Smough would be there to try and shatter my face with his hammer. Eventually I managed to stab Ornstein enough to kill him but then Smough ABSORBS HIM, REGAINS ALL OF HIS HEALTH, BECOMES LARGER, GETS A NEW AOE MAGIC ATTACK, DEALS MORE DAMAGE AND GETS AN ELECTRIC HAMMER.

It took me a few tries before I finally figured I could get Smough stuck in a circling loop around a broken pillar, dodge his swings, and then get in a quick stab every now and again.

Probably the Shadow Mitsuo fight from my master run of Persona 4 a while back (New Game+, highest difficulty, solo run, max all S-links, only use weapons and armour gained from social links or random chests).

Before him, thanks to my broken as hell Yoshitsune, all boss fights had gone Power Charge -> Hassou Tobi -> heal if neccessary - >Power Charge > Hassou Tobi -> DEAD. He actually managed to do enough damage each turn, thanto hsi 2 attacks, that I couldn't use HT after the power charge because I either didn't have enough health period, or it'd put me so low on health that I'd die anyhow when he got his next turn.

After a couple of frustrating goes I remembered that Trumpeter had Debilitate and then combined that with which ever persona (I think it;s Beelzebub?) has Heat Riser. After that it was pretty mcuh plain sailing all the way to the true ending. Give or take an occasional Soma.

Most recent? Fighting the 20 Metal Gear Rays on extreme in Metal Gear Solid 2. It didn't help that the Tengu fights leading up to it had left me pretty haggard, to the point where I had to straight up MASTER that fight in order to beat it. One hit would make me start bleeding. I beat it, though, even though it froze twice for me and I had to start over from before the Tengus because I had no foresight at the time. Fighting Solidus afterwards was cake compared to that.

Most difficult, while less recent (but still recent)? The Forgotten One from the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow on Paladin difficulty. Yeah, GFL with that. Never doing that again. I did it, though.
