I just tried to write a comment and post it and the website took so long to that it crashed... In short. The white sucks and makes things look blank/bland, It's slow, and the layout is organized for only for the escapist to make money NOT make it easy for users to browse.
It's obvious that you hired an SEO company to reformat your site to get better organic search engine results and just like every other SEO company it only yields a crappy hard to use website.

I like the overall look though it would be nice to have some sort of optional schemes or templates, even as a PubClub only option (and I'm not even a member).
I'm still getting the error where forums supposedly have no topics though, and this new version of the site is taking forever to load new pages. I'm hoping that these issues will be fixed, particularly the second one, or I may end up spending less time on the site. One of the reasons I like The Escapist is because, other than Wednesday afternoons, it's such a quick and snappy site with almost no load times. :/

I wouldn't go as far as to say I hate it, yeah it's unusual and seems a little unpolished in some ways but I'm sure I'll grow to like it.

Seeing as it's been nearly exactly the same for the three years I've been on the site, I damn near had a heart attack when I loaded it up a few minutes ago. I'm glad you guys are trying to improve things, but, well, it smacks of what I'm calling "Web 3.0", with the two-color scheme, the script-heavy dropdown menus, and the fancy fonts...basically the trend to make everything look more like Facebook. Hell, even Google fell for it.
So I must ask...is all of this really necessary? Sure, it's pretty, but it's a pain in the ass to navigate, the front page is a mess of headlines and images, and the fonts get all choppy in the smaller text boxes. Don't fix what isn't broke, eh?

I preferred the old layout-this one seems to make it more inconvenient to watch my beloved ZPs and such. also, It's slow as balls right now.
Loved the old look this new one is less functional and also looks terrible I really do hope you listen to user feedback on this and revert to the old layout or come up with a new one that's better.

I don't like it as much as the old one: I really liked the sidebar of all the shows. It was quick and convenient and took less clicks than the new drop-downs. Also, it's slow as balls right now.
While I agree I think some mods seem to be a bit heavy handed on the threads about the new look I think they probably gave him a warning because he mentioned using adblocker.Not that that really makes it better seeing as not too long ago they published a news articles telling users how to block ads on the Xbox360.Vanguard_Ex said:

Well, for me its kind of horribly broken with Highly scaled-up bits of images all over the place obscuring the main page articles... can't say I'm a fan.
...wait, now it's fixed. still not really going for it, though... I knew where to find everything in the old layout and I didn't see the need for a new one. It is somewhat sleeker, but the colors manage to clash much more, too :/

It looks too amateurish, like something a web design student would knock up as part of his coursework.
I have seen some dismissive comments saying that the problem is that people just don't like change and need to get over it. No.
See the problem isn't change: it's that you made it worse.
Change is fine if it's better, not when it's worse.
Also if ain't broke don't fix it, because you'll probably not improve something that doesn't need improving.
