Well, no I was talking abut the defusing the bomb quest, no the Burke thing, god knows he dies there. My main theory was if you could get the quest from his son. Guess I was wrong?
Hwat? How'd Simms get killed if Mr. Burke didn't kill him as a part of the defuse the bomb/blow up Megaton quest? Did you kill him yourself? Before he gave you the quest to defuse the bomb? Why?

If you just randomly killed Simms and you don't even HAVE the "defuse the bomb" quest you are probably el screwed.

the sheriff by no means HAS to die.

you can kill burke at any time before he kills the sheriff and smith will stay alive.

I often VATS him to death just as he's about to shoot the sheriff, but you can just walk in out of the wastelands, walk into the saloon, and shoot burke to death for free Karma, and noone cares, even if burke hasn't said anything to you.

you also don't need to even talk to Burke, or talk to Smith after talking to Burke.

I haven't tested (don't have the game right now) but I'm pretty sure the kid will always reward you for the defusing the bomb quest, even if you kill his dad, but I could be wrong.

I think the developers meant there is 100 hours in replaying quests in order to have different outcomes. A lot of people probably just shot everyone on their first playthrough, careless of the good karma and result of persuading them peacefully.

By the way, do the Super-Duper Mart and other places ever respawn enemies? I think it's been three weeks in-game and I really, really want to raid it again for nostalgia.
I mostly followed the main plot on the first time through, which meant that the game came to a rather abrupt end before I'd gotten a chance to explore much. I was sort of expecting that you'd be able to keep playing after the main quest was done, as in Oblivion. Imagine my surprise.

I know that the *outside* of areas respawn, (I get tired of killing the same three super mutants in this one area over and over) but from what I can tell the indoor areas don't.
Urgh, I did the same. I had an uber-tanked energy weapons specialist with fantastic karma, and all I get is a slideshow with Ron Perlman saying, "Yeah. You killed yourself for the Wasteland. Like your Dad. Sweet... oh, and War. War never changes." Well that sucks, not being able to go back to any Metro for some feral-killin' action.

Wait, Simms getting killed was actually part of the defuse megaton quest? Because as far as I know, you can just defuse the bomb without ever talking to Burke, which would probably end with an alive sheriff.

I'd prefer to tell on burke so he kill simms and then just end up taking Burke up on his offer so I get a free rifle.

Okay, having to die at the end of the Main Quest PISSES ME OFF! I went through the game rather quickly, ending it at level 14, but I was fully anticipating some nice relaxing exploration after I beat the main quest. Fuck that. Game was fun for a playthrough or two, but It's no Fallout 1/2

:(

I've just been doing a ton of exploring on different characters. Even though my first guy didn't get a lot of stuff, fat boy, etc. I really did do what I felt I wanted to do. Feels good man.

I don't even ever role-play properly because I'm always so opportunistic in the wasteland. I steal and kill whenever I can get away with it.

I saw a pic of the little boy from Greyditch with a slave collar on. He looks so sad, when I make my evil character, I can't wait to put it on him. I still haven't found paradise falls yet. I avoided doing that quest through speech back at little lamplight, so no free map marker. :/

Yep, that works fine. You can also talk to Burke and then just not tell Simms about it, in which case Simms still doesn't get killed.

you can also kill burke at any point before he kills simms and simms will still survive.

I was wondering if you could blow up the town before being prompted by Burke so that he dies too :)

no, you can't, and if you kill burke, and then blow up the town, you won't get a house :p

Why does this keep slipping? Are we running out of things to say about the game?
Anyway, I now understand Bulletinmybrain's hate of the Little Lamplight kids, they have to be the most annoying and disrespectful people in the Game.

The Fisto! is apparently somewhere in the MDPL-13 Power Station, wherever that is
Also, my alignment has shifted from Very Evil to Neutral, I NEVER thought I would be neutral
And as long as we're posting char sheets, I'll post mine and mine in the morning
