Hmm have you tried using the 1, 2, 3 keyboard keys? I didn't knew that those shortcuts existed so I usually had to open up the pipboy to switch from my sniper with my rifle. Then someone pointed out those shortcuts and I never used the menus again.

Oh and to loot bodies you could just press 'A'. Always faster.

I use the number keys obsessively. I still spend a lot of menu time field-repairing equipment and dumping items when I was overburdened, though.

I'm wondering how console players get by without the mouse and 1-2-3 keys... I'm guessing there's something the game does with the two sticks and D-pad to make it all work?

It's really not that bad, VATS helps a lot, and if you're used to playing FPS games on a console then you'll be fine even out of VATS. And you can hotkey stuff in your inventory to the d-pad. I'm getting along splendidly with my Xbox version

Stimpak hotkey is UP. RadAway hotkey is DOWN. So handy when fighting Glowing Ones, I can tell you.

I did get back together with Dogmeat at vault 101, but I'm gonna go check the Citadel to see if I can come across Paladin Cross. Damn man I had that woman armed to the teeth and we just OWNED the waist land together; good times man, she will be missed if I never see her again.

In case you're still looking--after Raven's Rock, I found Paladin Cross in the Armory (part of the Laboratory) at the Citadel.

The annoying part was I just wanted to get the stuff off of her that she had been carrying for me. I had a high sneak and she still noticed when I picked her pocket and went hostile (because I took MY stuff she was carrying for me), so I had to fire Fawkes, rehire Cross, take the stuff, then fire Cross, and then chase Fawkes down before she left the Citadel so I could rehire her. I didn't want to travel with Cross anymore; at least Fawkes came to look for me unlike SOME people....

Anyone heard a guy shouting crazy phrases over a tannoy near the Rangers compound? Any ideas as to who or what that is?

I dragged the alien corpse across the entire wasteland Independance day style so I could put it in my house in megaton. That was when I realised that I can't bring held objects through doors and megaton has front doors. Long story short my alien is chilling with deputy weld.

Great. Well, I'm stuck again, but this time, I'm trapped by a glitch. I just went to the RobCo building for Moira, I installed the widget, then disaster struck... a huge, grey wall jarred across my vision. Like a big sheet of paper. I can't see anything, and there are angry robots after me. Using some cunning, the map and the V.A.T.S system, I killed a roomful, but then I got blasted by a thing I couldn't see, from a room obscured by a graphical glitch. I get these glitches occasionally, I got one very similar while just wandering the wastes, but is there any surefire way to get rid of them?

Pretty sure they're just graphical glitches that occur every so often. A reboot of your xbox/computer should fix that up, but you shouldn't be "stuck" as they are just graphical. You can walk through them, albeit blindly.

I need help in a decision. Recently one of my friends came round and we went on a Fallout 3 marathon, doing quests and killing stuff. In all this, we saved once halfway through and never bothered to do so again. When I was seeing what the ripper could do, I *accidentally* shanked Moira while running around in 3rd person mode, at which point all of megaton ran after me. I killed them all with my alien blaster, but now I"m in a bind, as I've been playing a goody-two-shoes character, and this would be a rather sudden shift... What should I do? (Note, having the MIRV isn't good in terms of resisting temptations either >.>)

Or you could just play through the end of the game the way you are, maybe even becoming more evil and just see how it goes. Although, the funny part is, massacring megaton only sent my karma to neutral... =P Perhaps I should just loot megaton and play a neutral..

There's a couple of the water guys around the map, and yeah, they're a great way to fix your karma. You just need to find enough water. I personally went from being perfectly god to totally evil from robbing people blind while they weren't home.

Eh, after realizing that Moira has a lot of caps, I decided to go neutral, being a good character really got me nothing more that the occasional clip of ammo from some resident. =P

Your only choice for artfully disarming people -- or artfully wounding them in dramatic ways -- is to shoot them.

Bethesda are severely lacking on the animations front. Some people need firing.

One would think so, but I can't see the murderous robots, but they can see me. This makes for a very unfair fight - I tried turning on Stealth Boy, and they still killed me.

Well the game autosaves everytime you enter a new building or section, so use either that or a previous that you've made and leave that building. After that, save again and then try rebooting.

He's mad as a hatter, and I haven't found any way of interacting with him directly. However, if you've got a good "sneak" skill or a few StealthBoys, his alley has four (?) mini-nukes and a bunch of frag mines you can steal. Just don't get spotted; he'll blow the alley, and the half-dozen mini-nukes he has buried that you can't steal or disarm aren't survivable.

Is there any way to stop the talon company mercs appering if you dissarmed the bomb in megaton, i olny just managed to survive a five man spawn. i figured that i could kill Burke and that would stop it but i can't find the bastard anywhere. even looked in tennpeny towers only to find tenpenny on the top floor, but no Burke.

I was able to snipe him with a hunting rifle. Then you can plunder the loot in peace.

Wait a sec, couldn't you just load the autosave from when you walked into Craterside Supply? Or did you delete it or something?

And also, to fish food carl, have you tried going into third-person and then back again? That might fix your graphical glitch.
