Yeahhhh.... I don't think you're allowed to call bands generic when you've got a Metallica avatar.

Metallica is the greatest band in the world, the harbingers of thrash metal. They revived the genre and made heavy metal what it is today. Furthermore, they are most certainly not generic. Their songs are all original, so there are definitely not generic.

What is with all the hate on Nickelback? Their music is generic and samey but hardly as bad as this current wave of anger seems to suggest. I actually enjoy their bland rock sound now and again, it's still good music. Although "Rockstar" was overplayed to the point of no return..

The same goes to Linkin Park, their first 2 albums are freaking awesome. A little angsty to listen to for any length of time but damn Numb is good.

And you don't like Red? The hell is wrong with you man? No. Just no. This won't do at all. Innocence and Instinct was just eargasmic and your hatred for them is unjustified and wrong. There will be no arguing.

For the worst things to happen to music, feel free to look at pretty much anything played on Radio 1. Especially Ke$ha. And the obligatory Justin Bieber mention.

Dead serious, they're one of the worst bands I've heard to date, they are poser metal.

Wow. We should really thank Metallica for reviving the genre. The genre that has given us such incredible gems like Chelsea Grin, Seether, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Killswitch Engage.
Yeah, they all revere Metallica.

Nirvana - Just my least favourite massive band in the genre ever. Cannot stand any of their albums. I've tried, I really have.

There's not a whole lot wrong with it, it's just a lot more generic and a lot softer. Either they were running low on ideas or they tried to go for the really mainstream crowd. Even more so than previously. I do like the 3rd album but a lot less than the first 2, so I tend to stick up for those 2 more if LP is getting some stick.

Killswitch Engage and Seether aren't bad, and I've never heard of this "Chelsea Grin" person. Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park have nothing to do with the thrash metal genre, and therefore could not have been influenced that much, if at all, by Metallica.
