Yeah, what is with the water starter? It's horrible - the lumps on it make it look like it's diseased or something. It looks like a long-lost cousin of Mr. Mime.
I've grown tired of Pokemon. Ever since Silver and Gold. Not the re-releases, the original Silver and Gold. It's the same damn game, over and over and over and over and over.
1) There's going to be a professor with a tree-related name
2) You will be a plucky young boy or girl starting in a town which also has a tree-related name. You will be living with your mother.
3) You will be called to the professor or you will attempt to foolishly go into the tall grass and get rescued by the professor.
4) You will find another boy or girl who will be your enemy or friendly rival.
5) You will be given a Pokedex
6) You will have the choice of either a fire, water or grass starter. I repeat that they need to change things up a bit - how about NBC starters, you know, Nuclear, Chemical or Biological? (Go, Uranimon or Ebolabra or Mustard-Gastly).
7) There will be eight gyms. They will each only specialize in one type of pokemon. You defeat them to collect badges.
8) There will be physical impediments to your progress which can be overcome by using HMs
9) There will be some sort of criminal gang that is doing shady business, involving a legendary pokemon, usually. You must defeat them.
10) There will be one masterball.
11) There will be a road of the victorious sort. You will fight Cool Trainers along the way
12) You will get to the Elite Four and beat them before meeting the champion
13) After that there's usually some sort of extra challenge like a tower or an area type match.
It's so predictable. I'm not talking about things being generally predictable, like in Uncharted 2, where you know Drake will emerge victorious or like any summer action movie - I'm talking about it being DREADFULLY predictable. As in, the events of the game are pretty much set in stone. I know what will happen even before the game has been released.
I will wait for reviews. If this pokemon game is really different (and I bet it won't be) then I'll consider buying it. Otherwise, why? Why buy the same game that was released back in the 90s?
