Why would you buy Battlefield on a console if you had the option to play it on PC??? Even if you do have to put up with origin, you are getting Battlefield as it was intended, not some watered down console pants.
If i recall correctly they already said Origin will not be needed for ToR, with exception of digital distribution versions which are exclusive to Origin store, which is pretty much normal. ME3, probably yeah, but in the end what's the difference between game requiring Steamworks or Origin? It's same thing in the end.Frost27 said:So what stops one from doing this repeatedly to re-sell the DLC codes from Battlefield?
Also, you may as well get cozy with Origin if you are a die hard PC gamer, I guarantee it's going to be needed for Mass Effect 3 and Old Republic.
There really isn't a difference beyond content. Granted I would rather not have another process running on my PC but I don't see it as a huge problem as some do. I do have to correct my earlier statement, I can't "guarantee" it will be needed for ToR since it isn't needed for the beta.Keava said:If i recall correctly they already said Origin will not be needed for ToR, with exception of digital distribution versions which are exclusive to Origin store, which is pretty much normal. Damn that aint right lol.SL33TBL1ND said:Sorry to disappoint you, Grey, but 99p is actually really cheap for an expansion pack.
Look at it this way: PC gamers can alt tab around other sites while they're waiting for a queue to a specific server and/or while their maps are loading up. I'm actually quite in favour of the Battlelog after trying it out, despite thinking I'd despise it before I saw it in action and realised the prosSoviet Heavy said:Look at it this way: Console gamers don't have to go to a fucking website or download Origin to play. Hah!
Do you not remember Modern Warfare 2 in England?DeadlyYellow said:Google is failing me and saying 99p is roughly 156 USD, which is absurdly expensive for any game.
I can guarantee it isn't:Frost27 said:There really isn't a difference beyond content. Granted I would rather not have another process running on my PC but I don't see it as a huge problem as some do. You will probably need an Origin account, but then again considering everyone who has played an EA game released in the last four years or so online has one, that doesn't seem to be a big problem.Vrach said:I can guarantee it isn't:Frost27 said:There really isn't a difference beyond content. "While Origin will be the exclusive digital retailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic (in other words, if you want to buy it online and download it, you?ll do so through Origin) that does not mean that Origin is required for you to access or play The Old Republic.
You won?t need to launch the Origin application to run The Old Republic, nor will you patch the game via Origin. Once the game is on your hard disk, you?ll be connecting to our servers to patch and launch the game, and Origin does not have to be running to do that." - Stephen Reid, community manager for TOR
Plus I'd wager by that point Battlefield 3 will be £30. After all, it's £35 now.redisforever said:Here's a thought. Buy Battlefield 3, return it, get MW3, you now have all your money back. Then, go buy Battlefield 3 again. So, you got MW3 for 99p, and you already bought Battlefield.
Origin account is just a name for an EA account now as they're merged. The real question is whether the download will be done through Origin or if there will be a website client link like for every other game.Delusibeta said:You will probably need an Origin account, but then again considering everyone who has played an EA game released in the last four years or so online has one, that doesn't seem to be a big problem.
there are people actually trading in BF3 for MW3? and will actually think it's better?Yosharian said:There are people who are going to play BF3 on a console?
