So you're allowed to play a game where you beat people to death with a hammer, but not this?

Okay.

I've got a feeling this game is horribly broken and aside from a cheap laugh doesn't really spark my interest.

I really don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about this. I mean come on, it's freaking Ubisoft with another shovelware title.

I just want to know who would want to play that game. It didn't seem sexy in the least.

Ha. Hey, hey, American folk- I'm going to buy it, upload a video of me playing it saucily with all of my sexy lady friends (plus one fairly sexy male friend), and then imbed said video to force you all to watch it. You'll be so jealous. Just like I was jealous, America. I was jealous of good L4D2, and all the other things we missed out on. Now we finally have some vengeance.

On a more serious note, it's coming to Australia? Wow, maybe there is some truth to all of the apocalypse paranoia going around.

Couldn't the ESRB just put the game at an AO rating?
That would also effectively ban it in the US, since no store will carry an AO rated game.
Besides, Fox and Friends would still claim it was targeted towards children (the same they do with all the M rated shooters), and many millions of people would sheepishly believe them too.
Not necessarily, I've seen video games carried in Adult stores (Sex shops, etc.) that were AO. It actually makes it a bit easier to ensure kids aren't going to walk in and find them.

While you're quite right, there are some things wrong with that idea.
How common are such stores, and as such, how well would the game sell?

Because in the end, this is still all about money. ^^

It seems less to me that it has nothing to do with being too raunchy, and more that Ubisoft realised how fucking ridiculous it was, and pulled it on those grounds. It's basically the laughing stock of gaming right now, they don't want to be known as the company that released that.

Tis true European and American standards of decency are completely different. In spain for instance, you can have a woman jumping up and down on a bed in nought but a thong at midday, nipples clearly on display so long as she's advertising something.

At the end of the day, isn't that what we all want while we're eating lunch?

Wait wait wait.... A game is being released in Australia... The home of "Video games are bad mmmkay." but not here?

What the hell is this country's deal with sex? You can blow away a thousand people with a machine gun, run over pedestrians in a stolen car, but show a nipple and people are outraged.

This is a lot less a reflection on the US attitudes towards sex in videogames and much more about a french company's OPINION of the US's attitudes towards sex in videogames. Point the finger in the right direction. The only negative press I'm seeing (except about how silly the game/trailer looks) is from a UK newspaper that is appalled the game can be sold to 12 year olds.
