I love how the (sometimes temporarily) unexplainable usually gets stamped with 'alien', 'ghosts' or 'god' . Silly peoples
How can you stamp the unexplainable with an explanation?

Aaaah haaaaaaaa!

looks like a high altitude meteorite coming in wicked shallow. the ending could have been bounce, during the cold war i forget exactly when a 2 mile wide asteroid bounced off of the atmosphere over Colorado, or a burn up.

I refuse to believe this UFO has anything to do with aliens. If aliens ever came to Earth, the most pointless thing they could do would be to hover in the sky for a few hours and then leave. I can't see any species wasting resources on that.
ever thought that they could be scanning the immediate area for resources they could steal? =P
Like I said before, you don't need to hover over a city for several hours to accomplish that.

it cant be a military experiment. that looks EXACTLY like the other ufo in europe ( the laser beam looking one). two countries developing the SAME tech at the SAME TIME? that is unlikely.
I'm pretty sure they said that was a falling satellite, or something human-made falling from space.
I was talking about the one in europe.

It seems like its almost flying. Falling debris would have a much higher velocity than that and it would be pretty obvious in the video.

People spend money going to Africa so they can see monkeys riding hippos...So why not watch monkeys kill a planet?

a falling satilite doesnt move horizontally for that amount of time then some how stop, ACCELERATES, and moves in a completely different direction. no known craft or missle can do that.
Can you provide that video then? I'm sorry, but if you're going to claim there's a video showing this, I would like to see it for comparison.
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/96659-Mysterious-Blue-Spiral-Light-Appears-in-Norwegian-Sky

doesn't it look similar? with a blue spiral added?

EDIT: oh you meant this one. it isn't a video, it was a description by a bus driver who was at the airport. its in the article itself i think. he said it turned and looked like it was running from something. unless china added portal turret personalities to their rockets and/or weather balloons. that's quite impossible.
No, it looks quite different. And wasn't that already put down as a misfired rocket from Russia?

That toatlly has to be a rocket, you can clearly see it enters a second phase of propulsion at exactly 30 seconds into the video. Where most unexplained craft have no visible means of propulsion and can change trajectory instantaneuosly. Totally a rocket of some kind, just one with a huge burn trail. Maybe it's some kind of experiemental fuel they were using.

Looks really neat though.

I don't know man, humans spend tons of money everyday to go to the zoo, they even go to exoctic secluded places to watch animal life. And if they are space travelers and successful at it to the level we believe they are, then wasting energy is probably no longer a real issue for them.

Pure speculation of course.

Either thats a new engine deisgn or china is LOADED with smog...

Given the outward effect from the object as it surges across the sky it seems to have a 3 pointed propulsion system. Interesting.
Jet engines burn up all the fuel what you see there is a water vapor trail
It's still one heck of a huge volume of fuel its using up to cause such a trail.

the way its trailing crap its got to be a meteor, either that or it has an amazingly inefficient jet engine.

Meteor.

Mystery solved.

commercial jet liners going at full speed make a wider trail its just at 35000 feet it looks small. when one flys over your house come back in an hour the trail drops down to the dew point(were you see the clouds normally) the trail shrinks as it drops(the vapor is cooling down and condensing) and the trail is still about 200feet wide when you go look at it

I just hope that whatever it is, it doesn't become sentient and rebel against the human race by destroying Earth slowly.

Which I guess is always a good thing to want.
The video very clearly shows a malevolent purple tentacle hellbent on total domination.

Ever considered that "Aliens" capable of intergalatic flight might not consider humanity much more evolved or a greater threat than our own evolutionary cousins - Apes? Why bother concealing your activities to a technologically inferior race?
That doesn't make sense. If Aliens are observing human activities, they would want to observe us in our "natural habitat". That's how you gather accurate data about the habitats of a species. Humans don't have to do this for all the species we observe because they are not as aware and intelligent as humans. Humans are different, and aliens would probably acknowledge this, just as we acknowledge the difference between species on Earth. It doesn't matter how advanced they are. They would still see the difference between a human and an ape just like we see the difference between a fish and a worm. Aliens would take notice of our ability to observe and record data, and would respond appropriately.

- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_Tehran_UFO_incident as an example
That doesn't prove anything. It's just another case of a UFO of unkown origin.

Also, there's the possiblity that most "Alien" craft or UFOs encountered are similar to our own UAV or remote-controlled spacecraft/rover, and so there's no reason to believe these things will react to our presence/discovery outside of their programming or relayed
instructions.
What does this have to do with anything I've said?

EDIT: Also, considering that we've had ZERO definitive contact with any "Alien" species, I find it highly confusing that anyone could possibly claim to either understand the actions or machinations of an "Alien" species, or be themselves confused when they're not similar to humans. It's all theoretical until it's undeniable.
This is just an educated guess. I'm just using logic to assume that an alien species wouldn't hover over a city for several hours pointlessly.

If it is Aliens, they sure fuck around a lot. Why not just land and get this whole teasing us for 70 years with UFO things over with?

I have a tendency to not believe things like this however it will be awesome if it really is a UFO. As long as they're peaceful.

Joke reply:
Wow, a thread about having found the chupacabra and now a thread about UFOs? I hereby dub this day The Day of the Urban Legends.

Serious reply:
If there truly were aliens or UFOs sophisticated enough to reach this planet from far enough away that they couldn't be detected, they wouldn't come all that way just for a little reconnaissance. I do believe that there is life somewhere else in the Universe that isn't just a bunch of amoebas, and that some of that life is intelligent, but if they're intelligent enough to get to Earth in some kind of spacecraft, they're intelligent enough to only come here if they want to talk to us or carpet bomb the shit out of us.

What else it could be I have no idea. Maybe an airplane attached to a big-ass fountain. It might be a UFO, it might not be. Who knows?

how can something be 'alledgedly' a UFO? It's either unidentified of not.
There's a serious point of contention as to whether or not the object is actually flying. As others have suggested, it may simply be a meteor or other orbital object.
