I collect bottle caps. Not alcohol ones, just J2O and Coke.

You never know when. Never.
They laugh at us now, but when the Apocalypse happens we'll be able to buy up all the fancy clothes and Rad-Away we could ever need.

Where I work we sell a lot of bottled beers and Ciders so I've got loads of caps.

You actually made me grin for the first time in a while (in a good way).

Just wondering... have you ever fought against a yari-wielder? Personally, those who are good scared the crap out of me (especially when it's a juumonji-yari), and probably still do at that.
No I haven't, I trained with a spear, it's one of the core weapons of wing chung. I gotta say sword Vs spear is a bit uneven. The spear wielder has a big advantage if he knows what he is doing. As confident as I am in my skills I reckon that would be one rough fight. I'm kinda curious to give it a go now. No scratch that I really want to give it a go. I like the tough fights they make me feel alive.

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum - I keep chickens. In a city.

Although I might have to eat my cockerel this weekend if he keeps going off before 7am. Sod the neighbours - I hate being woken up before 7am.

I design and build lego models. I have a very large collection back at home, but unfortunately, there's not really any room for lego in my dorm room, and I haven't really had time to build in a while. A shame really.

Heh, me too. I've got an almost finished and damn big battlecruiser standing around because all of my stuff is now at my grandparents' house which is a 4 hours drive away so I don't get to build very often.
Aw well, I've got Minecraft to make up for it at least...

And in the future I might have to add "paramedic" to my hobbies seeing as I won't have the time to do it full-time once uni starts in septembre. I hope that hobby's uncommon enough for your needs.

I fence as well, and I get those exact same looks. I find it not only to be a good stress reliever but a great way to stay fit as well.

Other than that, I guess that I like puzzles and word jumbles.

I have a real interest in Magic and secretly watch tricks behind people's backs..but i don't actually do any magic myself, shame though. (don't really have the space, plus parents are letter openers who looks in everyones mail, this has also stopped me from getting, ahem other things aswell >.> <.<)

Other than that, who keeps the gameboxes and/or reciepts when they buy games? i mean i must have over 30 DS game boxes in this weird wooden wall thing that used to be attatched on the bathroom wall, but now its just sitting on my drawers. 0,0

Trampoline. And I don't mean the elegant stuff that will get you into the olympics, no I mean going as high as possible and doing the craziest flips without dying. I used to go to a club for this where they had what can only be described as a pool filled with matrasses: "the pit." Your crazy moves could fail as miserable as you want, as long as you landed inside that thing you would be fine. Even after faceplants from 6 meters high.
I was supposed to be in the competitive devision of the club but instead I always joined the beginner squad. Not to show off but because the trainers there didn't really have much more to teach me so instead I just had to help train the kiddies and other than that I could go nuts on any equipment there. Best. arrangement. ever.

I cook extraordinary dishes from ordinary ingredients.
Think you could rustle me up some tasty recipes using common Chinese ingredients?

I'm gonna be out here a while and want to raise my cuisine stat.

On topic:

I don't play Yugioh competitively anymore, but I still love creating decks for it.

I'm even looking into the possibility of becoming an actual card designer.

I fence.
It's not a common hobby. Not at all.
Most people give you a quizzical look and think "really?"
But hey, I get to have sword fights.

So, what unusual hobbies does the escapist have?

...or am I going to regret asking that question.
Fencing isn't too obscure and uncommon, there are many people with the stigma that it is only for the fancy-pants rich people. Congratulations on a great hobby though. I have also heard of people that practice broadsword and shield fighting.

Myself, I am pretty much a tech nerd, though I prefer work that involves heavy labor and tend to hold more respect for construction workers and such over desk jockeys. With that sort of view I tie fly fishing flies, but absolutely hate catching fish and am in fact allergic to fish. When it comes time for me to retire I intend on spending my days on a small bass boat in a lake with a fishing line in the water and essentially a weight on my line and no hook.

Basically what I do is open my cupboard and chuck a few things together, sometimes they're fantastic others time they're eh, sadly, my location doesn't give me easy access to exotics.

Alright try this, thick egg noodles, stir-fry beef, spare rib sauce, steam some veggies, cook the noodles until soft, cook the beef, add sauce, veggies and noodles into a fry-pan or wok, mix and serve.

If I could get to my fridge, (Which I can't because I'm supposed to be in bed), I can suggest you this fantastic rib sauce that doubles as a stir-fry sauce.
