All the people saying they don't care, keep it to yourselves.
Yes, people die all the time and you can't be expected to care, and I'm not saying Micheal Jackson is special but he was still a person, and I'm gonna hate myself for saying this but show some respect. You don't have to care but y'know... fuck off. Nobody cares that you don't care.
I myself am still stunned to hell and back... MJ isn't someone who you could imagine dieing.
I have to agree with you. Seeing people that claim they don't give a fuck that he died, the rest of us don't give a damn if you feel apathetic over a cultural icon's death. Yeah, his past was kinda eh, but the man could make some damn good music. Has any album ever topped his "Thriller" album? How many artists are known WORLDWIDE? Not everyone knows or gives a damn about Christian Aguleria. She's not a "household" name. You say the initials "MJ" and 90% of the time, people would know it was Michael Jackson.

Yes, people die everyday. Sucks that everyone's death isn't announced and projected all over the world like a celebrity. But that's the different from the common person and a celebrity. If you want your death publicized, become a celebrity. Til then, STFU and give the man some respect.

Rest in peace the King of Pop.

I literally just heard this not even 5 minutes ago on the news. Why something like this is news I'll never know
Because the man pretty much made Pop what it is today?
Pop today is a shitty prep version of rap, which is shitty in itself so that's not much of an accomplishment.
Yes but thats Pop "today".

Back when MJ ruled supreme, Pop was a completely different animal, and still mattered.

Of course pop today is shit. Almost everthing today is shit.
That makes me feel so bloody old.

Peace be with you, Gloved One. Your music was unprecedented, and you danced like no one else.
For all out there hoping he burns in hell, a brief aside. The man was aquitted of those charges, which means the court couldn't prove that he did those things to children. If you wish to bash Michael Jackson because he ALLEGEDLY did something, then you're excercising your own opinion that you wish to believe the worst about someone. I'm not saying he wasn't strange, and I'm sure it had been a long time since he had heard the word 'no', but criminy, give it a rest, the man is dead. I'm a little older tha the average Escapee, so I remember the time when Michael JAckson was a luminary, when Moonwalker was a cool movie, and that he could star in a videogame where he saved children from drug dealers. I remember when the molestation charges came out, and everybody wanted to believe them, just because Michael was a recluse. Mr.Rogers loved children too, but no one accused him of kid feely. Ronald Regan was a hero to many and he actually commited treason and killed people. Michael Jackson was a strange duck, but it is immoral to take advantage of his death to air bullshit about him. He sang Man in the Mirror, he used his fame to try to bring people together on this planet, what have you done? If you have proof then publish it, everything else is libel.

Yeah, I'm that affected.
Bravo, sir. Very, very well said.

He said that MJ made pop what it is "today". So I needed to mention that making pop what it is "today" isn't an accomplishment. And I don't give a shit who did what and when they did it, death from heart failure is not news. If you don't die from something heart-related, it's cancer that does you in. Unless you like get hit by a bus or something

Too bad he wasn't able to recover from crazyness and struck the world with another masterpiece. How wierd that someone with that much money could get himself that sick beign able to pay a trainer, nutricioner, food, gym equipment or even a personal nurse that could have saved his life by giving him CPR. He just let himself die i gues due to depresion or something like that.

Anyway RIP M.J.

I remember that too. I loved Moonwalker. I remember playing his game on my Genesis too. He's apart of my life, regardless if it's not directly. Everyone we hear and and see of is embedded into our memories and affects us in some way, shape or form. Whether you like it or now. Your post was well said, sir. Well said.

-clap-

So you live near this place?
Yes, I live right next to UCLA Med Center (where they took MJ). It's becoming a madhouse around here. Not even in a fun way anymore, it's getting scary with all the people running around.

I am afraid to say I feel the ban hammer a coming for some, but to be honest he will be missed. He is easily one of the most talented individuals to ever come into the music industry. Great voice, great movies, not so great look as of recent, but still. It just pities me to think that so many people here are revealing how little our generation knew about this man.

I have to say; this might be the most level-headed post in this thread.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Whatever people want to believe about his personal life doesn't matter; the man was a legend in his own time, and revolutionized modern music and popular culture. RIP you crazy, crazy bastard.

Also... the zombie apocalypse just got thrilling.

And all we have to remeber him by is a few mediocre Pop songs, His Neverland ranch, and his lawsuit.Well I'm gonna follow his last wish. *Cracks open a pepsi can.*
