That fire pig is just one huge, big disappointment.
(yes I'm aware how bad my english is right there. But this gen of pokemon is just making me sad.)

I take back everything I said about Wotter. He's now officially awesome.

Also, I will hereby refer to Smugleaf's final evolved form as "Smuglord".
And I was really hoping he would evolve in to Grasshole...

still it looks awesome.

Oh come on. The fire evolutions look like shit. And they're always my starters!
Really? I think it looks alright. Sort of reminds me of Magmortar, and he was pretty sweet too.

If they make another Fire/Fighting starter, I'm going to use Mega Kick on Gamefreak's Pokéballs.

Basically, by evolving, it looks like the otter pokemon would be losing out on some moves, something that's never happened in previous pokemon games.
That has happened in EVERY previous Pokémon game.

There are so many many examples I can use, but I'll just pick the first one I thought of, which also happens to be a starter.

Torchic can learn Flamethrower at level 43. However, evolve it into Combusken and it can no longer learn Flamethrower by leveling up. Combusken also learns moves that Torchic can't.

Again, this happens all the time. You can find plenty of examples in each generation if you look.
yeah, that's what I thought you meant. That wasn't what I was trying to say. Yes Torchic can learn flamethrower on it's own and Blaziken can't, but it can be taught flamethrower through a TM. And about the Combusken thing, I'm talking about pre-evolved forms knowing moves that the next evolution couldn't possibly learn.

Basically what I was trying to say is, imagine if Dragonite evolved into Dragonair. Dragonite can learn Ice Punch while Dragonair can't for obvious reasons. If a Dragonite knowing Ice Punch evolved into Dragonair, I can't see how it would still be able to know Ice Punch.

fire/fighting has been seen before, but so has pure water and grass /poison. The new water and grass pokemon are in the same bucket

I'm still hoping these are the real last evolutions. At least the fire type still looks like a pig in this one lol. And the water type stays an otter instead of a water unicorn type thing.
Uh, the "water unicorn" is pretty obviously a sea lion, which is in the otter family.

nope, sea lions are of the Pinniped family, otters are in the Mustelidae family

Aw, no. I wanted a badass fire-boar. I guess if these are the final designs it'll be between the water and the grass...though I think the water one looks better.

Huh, really?

Who knew.

Well, people THINK they're in the same family :p

I'm pretty sure they're fake.

They're just photoshopped versions of other pokemon. Pokabu's evo is reskinned Rhyperior, Smuglord is Milotic, and Wotter is Dialga.

Ken Sugimori don't roll dat way.

Hm. Well, the second-stage Grass and Water starters are almost certainly real, because they've appeared on an almost certainly (e.g featuring unnanounced character and Pokemon designs revealed officially shortly afterwards) genuine anime character sheet. No idea about the Fire ones though. Nor am I particularly excited by the final forms... they look too spontaneous, without enough grounding in the previous forms, particularly the Water-type one.

Grass/Dragon starter? Sign me up! I hope this is how they turn out. I have to agree though I'm sick of the Fire/Fighting starter, perhaps it will be Fire/Ground.
I just want me some interesting pokemon from the less popular types, where are the awesome Poison and Bug types? Ghost pseudo legendary or something. There are plenty of good Fire/Grass/Water pokemon so lets see some inspired other types.

On the off chance these are legitimate, I think they're pretty good looking.

Certainly the guy this comes from seems reliable, as Serebii says.

Still doubting it though, but definitely interesting.

I was picking the grass one anyway but the fire one looks like a perfect time to laugh at chimchar for being the new fire starters.
I dont know whats wrong with making all leaf starters reptiles, I mean its preferable to making a leaf starter fish

Hey I just had an idea! Lets make the new type combinations: grass/flying fire/rock water/electric
I mean that would be awesome

The only starter I would have picked was the grass one and a possibility of the pig Because the water starter looked ridiculous from the start and I don't want to play 3 quarters of a game just to get that narwhal/seal/dragon/wizard/horse thing IF IT IS REAL!!!

I don't know if these are real or not, but either way I am still sticking with the Water type.

So... adorable...

But if these are real. Damn I made the right choice!

I was originally going to go with the grass snake but seeing the final form of the otter makes me thing otherwise. I mean a pokemon with a weapon on its back is pretty much instant win.
I'm going with the otter simply out of the sympathy I have for it after all the hate it was getting for stupid reasons.

The reveal(s?) of what it's likely to turn into only helps me feel more justified in my decision.

I can see different cultures in the way they are portrayed. Grass: China, Water: Japan Fire: Japan/Hungary/Korea/Aztecs?

Or they are all in a Japanese style from different classes or era's.

I used to love coming up with new pokemon when i was like... 7? And I have to say even the shit i could draw then looked better than the stupid otter starter thing. The grass one would be great if the legs/feet were anywhere near proportion.

Here's some of my old ideas:
Fire: A kitten that evolves to become a lion. The lion has licks of flame in place of a mane. Colourscheme red/orange/brown/black

Grass: This ones kind of hard to explain without posting a picture but basically you start of with a little cute baby satyr thing that evolves into a large satyr then a majestic centaur. The starter's stubby horns grow into large branching antlers. Obviously the top halfs of the satyr/centaur aren't too human looking.
Colourscheme white/pale (Skin) brown(branches/fur) and then green (patterns on the skin)

Water: Some kind of crab type thing? Could evolve to be large, armour plated beastie. Pun's for naming it could be, ooh i dunno Crushtacean? Whatever...

We'll see how this game turns out, After playing HG SS I realized my love affair with pokemon games has fizzled out. Grinding pokemon isn't fun anymore, spend 15 minutes with an actionreplay for mad exp, and you'll see why.
