Anyway, something like this doesn't really appeal to me. It's neat for sure, and it's a great buy if you're in to that sort of thing but it's just not for me. I'd rather just buy a game and get the game for the game.

Special Editionshave to be worth it, and alot of them recently have not. The gold weapons in Gears 2 is just a wya to tell who I have 10$ more than, and the Master Chief helmet, well, I mocked my friend when I thought you coudl wear it. I mocked him 10 fold when I learned it is just a big bulky case. This one actualyl seems cool...and expensive, but still.
I however, wont be getting any of them since CoD stopped being fun after 2 for me.

Can't comment on their cost in specific. But I know from my Navy days that good night vision goggles runs a couple grand and the pair I used crossing the Panama Canal were only single mode.

I suspect these night vision goggles are not up to military standards and probably give inferior results to the military hardware. Add to that, maybe the production costs have dropped since then? More efficient designs, etc.

one of either 3 things is going to happen: either its going to be rediclously expensive, activision is going to take a major loss on the package or the nvgs will either NOT be actual workign nvg's or if they are they will be very cheaply made.

i just bought a pair of high quality gen 1 nvg's a few months ago for hunting and they cost me over $800. a pair of gen 2 or gen 3 nvg's cost in the thousands, even for many of the lower quality ones. as i said, if they are real its either gonna be hella expensive or activision is going to take huge losses.

Dang I could use those goggles in paintball...

you really dont want to do that. if someone hits them, even with a paintball your looking at a serious possibility of damage, and at the very least it would be a ***** to clean them up (youd have to be VERY careful).

Some people tie on thin steel plates on the sides and front, and get the actual sticky out bits at the front all armoured as well, if you do that, then its fine

Hardened edition looks great; exactly what I wanted. A cool art book, a download code (the original COD; a game I have not played as well) and the best of the three boxes.

Why waste money on the prestige edition - it'll be cheap, tacky and a waste of money.

This is as outlandish as collector's edition games have ever gotten. But it's stuff like this that catches the interest of collector whores and fanboys. It's just another attempt to include pointless gizmos as means of jacking up the price. I'll probably get the Harden edition without the unnecessary headgear.
