Valve used the same tacitics this year as Turbine did last year, but there has not been one post saying Valve cheated.

Yet there were still members saying Turbine cheated last year and drawing a clear distinction between forum ads and a launcher ad (at the begining of this years MM).

Can some elements of the Escapists finally stop piling the hate on Turbine?

I don't think Valve actually used Steam to rally votes for the final round, unless you're talking about when they were against Zynga. In the case of Zynga then, I don't think anyone would've mind as long as Zynga was going to lose. I agree though, the forum could stop hating on Turbine.

That plan can backfire. What if in the next one we're unable to rally enough support in time to counter Zynga and then they (god forbid) actually win??
Not trying to be pessimistic here....oh, wait, gahh I am being pessimistic, but I'm just trying to show the different possibilities!

OT: I voted for Valve so yay Valve!

bioware should have won. valve only released one game last year and bioware released two great games.

It was pretty obvious valve was going to win. As I said before.

It was FPS ( A large genre)
Vs
RPG (A smaller genre)

at that, it was also
Mostly Multiplayer hits
vs
Mostly Single Player Hits

So it was NO suprise that valve won, the ONLY suprise is that bioware got as many votes as it did.

LOL I was more saying Team Fortress 2 wasn't originally their IP, so they shouldn't get credit for as much making it, as editing it. (Which they did a damn good job of)

I was rooting for BioWare, but Valve was just as deserving, so kudos to them! Things were close, right until the end, so that kept us on the edge of our seats! And thanks to all of the staff for holding this event for us!

The competitive respect was obvious as congratulations from both sides of community were heard on our forums.

And that's what made this final showdown so very awesome.

This was pretty epic. Both are great developers. I have to ask though: what happened with the Twitter votes? When I last visited the match topic, I think the developers were about 180 votes apart, so I can imagine 159 votes happening just with internet votes. So, are the Twitter votes already added (probably yes) and is their a way to see their breakdown?
