Wow that really was a well fought battle. Congrats to BOTH Valve and Bioware on making it this far!

Oh god, Valve v. Zynga, all the motivational posters it just touched my heart. Seriously it just really shows how much we care about Valve.

I was really happy with Valve and the Escapist, we worked our ass of to make Valve win. Valve, all they did was put up one, "Vote for Valve" thing up on Steam. This had to be the most suspenseful MM yet. They knew that they didn't need to spam their users like Zynga did. And in the end, Valve had won by just a few votes, against both Zynga and Bioware.

Bioware, your awesome, keep making more awesome games.

Valve, you have been a jewel encrusted diamond in the gaming industry for 10 years. With all your classic games. Keep adding more jewels to the diamond.

bioware should have won. valve only released one game last year and bioware released two great games.
Even so, the best company won fair and square. I voted Bioware but am not sore over it, Valve is an excellent developer as well.
im not sore over it either, im just pointing out that people treated it like a greatest developer of all time vote rather than a greatest developer of the year poll. in my opinion, last year bioware was the best.
Well that's the thing, this competition points out what was made past last year so it's accounted for everything each company has made. So yeah, it kinda is an all time thing I guess.

If it were just about last year then I agree, Bioware should have won, but it wasn't.

It was a long and hard fight for both sides. The best developer won fairly. I am rather disappointed that Bioware lost. But I still love both.

But this was clearly a triumph...
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

Whoo! I'm not a big fan of Valve. But I'm glad we all conquered Zynga.

And I can see why others are big fans. Especially why PC gamers love Valve.

I still voted Bioware, despite them dumbing down the game mechanics for Mass Effect 2. But they kept gameplay in Dragon Age deep.

Oh, and post "Still Alive" and you'll feel my wrath.

Ahhh....

...
but....

I'm making a note here...huge success...

I'd agree with what people have been saying: Both good companies. I give valve a little more support, because they have incredible community support. (Although, TF2's random hat drop system is kinda borked)

Valve deserved the win they were the uniting banner that let us save this event and give us a finale we all dreamed of.

Thanks for another good March Mayhem guys. (And for any Mods reading, please no Zynga next year?)

I think it was inevitable that Valve won, after creating Half Life, L4D, Portal and ALL of our other favorites. However, I did vote for Bioware, myself.
Agreed on all points.

Although I still think it should be considered a draw unless there is a clear majority; .6% means nothing in terms of which one is preferred, especially considering factors such as accidentally voting for the wrong team, missing out on the vote for some reasons and so on.

Good job both developers both are well respected and develop amazing games and cater to their customers. I personally was pushing for Valve, they have produced some of the greatest games ever in the gaming world for over a decade and on top of that created an online distribution system that has made a massive impact on the PC. Bioware of course has its own great track record with games like KOTOR, ME, NWN, and DA and it certainly wouldn't have made me upset if they had eeked out a victory. Blizzard needs to be mentioned as well as they are also an amazing company and deserving of respect, I expect to see them in the final showdown next year when they finally start releasing content other than WoW related things. Finally I think I speak for most of the forum here and most game players when I say FUCK ZYNGA, they shouldn't have made it as far as they did let alone win the first round, its sad that they knocked off actual respectable developers

Valve: Give me better customer support and some more interesting games, and I'll agree you deserve the victory. Half Life is garbage in my opinion, and both your AI Director and Physics engine are starting to show their age. Kick it up a notch guys, I think you got away with the victory out of sheer luck and blind devotion.

Bioware: Take time when you're making your games for assured quality, be sure to keep doing what you guys do best, and you'll do fine. But please please PLEASE start (extensively) bug-testing your games and patches before you release them. It's getting problematic.
Obvious troll is obvious.
Either that, or incredibly stupid.
Or I just have an opinion that differs from the general populace. Funny how that works, isn't it?

I'm one of the many people here who would have been happy with either winning. I'm also glad it was so close, not only did it make the last round more interesting but I think it demonstrates just how great both studios are.
