Remember kids, psychology is more than saying "I'm a psychologist," then saying your opinion is fact because you're a psychologist.

In other news Karma is a *****
Shes a psychiatrist (med doctor first) not a psychologist. Shes trained in a totally different way.

That being said, your statement still holds true.
Well in that case most of her knowledge should lie in mental medication so what is she doing writing books that seem to be more rooted in the psychology side of mental health rather than psychiatry. That makes her seem even more dumb than she already appeared to be.
I've been looking for published empirical articles from her. So far, only one. And it has nothing to do with media.

If you're going to be an "Expert" you should probably back up your claim with credentials. A doctoral degree does not an expert make.
That one published piece was likely for her doctorate so I'd like to see more than just that; so yes you are correct, having her doctorate does not make her an expert, especially on gaming psychology
Precisely. This is why I'm actually studying media and doing research on its effects. I desire to be a psychologist and a credentialed expert, not just some news-pandering whore.
Amen to that. On that note I also am studying psychology so...*fist pound*

Wait.. so first she blames video games for causing rapes, and then she writes a book about how girls should use their sexuality to "get ahead" in the world? Good thinking right there..

Only 40 reviews, that's not so much, in fact, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were mentioning this story so some of us would contribute to the process.

But I know better than to say it.

I have it on high authority that people reading books with sexy leg outlines tends to lead to a rise in Rape victims. Most of these victims never even saw it coming. They were casually in a store aisle questioning what millions see in Twilight when all the sudden, rape happens. Not even the fancy romantic rape, with months and months of stalking. Nope, just pure sudden rape. Must be those video games.
Best review ever.

I think it's just as much her and her book being discovered due to the frequent use of her quotes, as much as a concious effort to get back at her. Fact is? The book is offensive exploitation. In a book shop, surrounded by other books, it's not a big deal and is a matter of personal choice. Now that she's trying to get famous, it's backfired by having thousands of displeased people looking for revenge stumble upon her shitty book and reviewing it accordingly.

For that reason, most of these can't in good conscience be taken down... they are real reviews based on what people really think, whatever their original motivations might be.

So, while publishing a book that essentially talks women into being sexual bitches to get ahead in life, she has the nerve to say that adult content in games cause a rape escalation.

Ummm...Paradox much?

I've got to say I admire their spirit! Mainly because it is really not the kind of thing I would even dream of doing, but find pretty hilarious when other people do it. Go outraged people!

If she abides by her own rules...I shudder to think what stuff she'd gotten up to go get into the well-known controversy-whore position she currently finds herself.

Just reading the description of the book makes me feel a little nauseous. It sounds like the kind of drivel you find in crappy women's magazines like Glamor - from the sounds of it the title should be "How to Act Like a Manipulative *****". And talk about hypocritical - using sex as a topic to sell her book, while condemning another media for having sexual themes?

Tell me why do people listen to people like this again?

Anyway, i want to take this time to bring up one of the old controversial issues: XXXXXX. XXXXXX really aggravated a considerable amount of people because of the "this game allows you to kill people in violent ways, and then piss all over their corpses" thing. It was crazy, immature, insensitive, poked fun at every existing minority group and was generally just not very friendly. However, the reason im mentioning this is because despite all of the graphic and bizzarre content in XXXXXX, you never HAD to do any of it.

Back to original point: People make their own decisions, games cannot be blamed for them, although im assuming that someone who read this post will try and say otherwise.
That thing is gaming's dirty little secret, and the fact that you didn't have to but could led almost every gamer to do so, on their own volition. This is one example that might even prove some of this fear-mongering tripe. Never mention it again!

She fell victim for one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a flame war with 4Chan, but only slightly less well know is this: never go in against video gamers when rape is on the line!

That smug picture alone is enough to make me hate her. The sad thing is how easily fooled the general public are into thinking this is a real issue. I wonder what the next scape goat for the downfall of society is going to be after the media has finished having their fun pissing off gamers. Human society has never been nor will it ever be a bed of roses, regardless of influence.

Here's the new plan guys. One of us has to become a mildly known book reviewer. Gain some clout, then get on a news channel. Call her book out for increasing the crime rate and leading to rape.

There's no way it can fail!

Ah, when we nerds get pissed off we can do some awesome things every now and then.
Hell yeah. Remember when those people thwarted the Westboro Church's attempt to protest that one convention (forgot which one, but it was California)? That was something.

OT: How can someone who writes a book with a cover like THAT complain about the sex scenes in video games?

I just submitted my review, I wonder if it'll get posted:

This book causes rape:

I have done no research whatsoever into this book but just by the title and my initial dislike of this author I have decided that it is the leading factor in the increase in cases of females raping males.

She looks like a fucking drag queen.

Apart from that, she just learned why one does not fuck with the internet.
