>Rich: It was established on page 1 that imaginary monsters like Grues don't exist. Really now, who do you think you're kidding?

As you venture deeper into the mine, you continue to hear loud moaning sounds, ever increasing in volume. You think you can make out a few words here and there, something along the lines of, "Go back," "leave this place," or, "Return the slab." Wait, no, probably not that last one. That's just silly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Dirk: You're mostly ignored by the four workers. One of them mutters something about needing to record this, and avoiding distractions, before returning to his work.

Doesn't look like these guys are very good conversationalists.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Greg: WQ says that she's trying to call Jack Noir on her Third Wall. Typically she would use her Fourth Wall, but it's apparently been missing for a while.

It seems to be taking Jack a while to pick up.

>Greg:Ask if you should leave

You nod to yourself at her answer.Interesting to say the least.

You look back at the Third Wall, atleast thats what she called it anyway, then back at the Queen. You ask her if she wants you to stay for this or would rather you leave. Not that you are in a rush or anything to leave. It just seems like this is official matters and your not sure if the Queen would prefer to handle it herself or not.And you don't want to get in the way or anything.

>Rich: Leave this place.

Yeah. Right.

>Rich: Listen to voices.

You attempt to listen more closely to the voices; you're rather interested to know whether they sound mechanical, perhaps like the voices of CLOCKWORK CROCODILES.

>Rich: Search for Scooby-Doo villains.

>Dirk: Pull hero card

"Well, all right then. Listen, I'm kinda the fucking Mentor of Time over here, so waiting's no big deal. Could one of you just let me know what time period you'll be a bit more chatty so I can go ahead and pop over to it?"

You figure either one is going to answer you, or being a Hero will get their attention, like it did DEADALUS'.

>Greg: WQ responds, saying that you can stay if you wish. It just seems that Jack is being rather difficult. His refusing to pick up is probably some psychological ploy to weaken

The ringing suddenly stops, and a man dressed all in black appears on the screen before you, who you assume is probably Jack Noir. Part of his black carapace is stained candy-red by a liquid that looks suspiciously like blood.

Before WQ has a chance to say anything, Jack snatches control of the conversation. He points a finger at you, asking who the runt is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Rich:... yeah, I was going for a Scooby-Doo joke. Way to go, ruining a perfectly good punchline. Well, might as well try and salvage this.

You suddenly bump into a group of CLOCKWORK CROCODILES. There's four of them, each wearing a different fashion accessory (An ascot, a pair of glasses, high heels, and an over-sized green shirt), and they're accompanied by a lone IMP.

After a comical scene where they attempt to decapitate you with a rusty pickax, they explain that they're trying to find the ghost of the dead miner that haunts these tunnels. Since you seem like a particularly hard-boiled sleuth, they ask you to help out.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Dirk: Pulling the Hero card fails to garner any attention from the group. They seem fully obsessed with their work; it's going to take a lot to get them away from it.

>MetroidNut: Ruin GM's punchlines.

8)

>Rich: Disregard murder attempt.

A hard-boiled fellow like you knows that in this city, you can't hold grudges for very long...but he also knows that when someone barely misses your think pan with a pickaxe, you don't ever turn your back on them.

You were already sleuthing this cave, and they've unwittingly given you valuable information; you agree to help them in their search.

You start by not turning your back to them.

That accomplished, you begin scouring the caves, poking various rocks. Honestly, you'd be more surprised if one didn't open a secret passage.

>Greg:Respond

You have to admit that you are surprised by the fact that Jack looks somewhat like a Prospitian, save for being solid black instead of white. You notice that he seems to be stained with what looks like blood, from killing Connor's dreamself you would guess, but decide not to focus on that.To much is at stake.

You bow to the image on the screen and reply "Greg Markos,Knight of Space, and Prince of Prospit,at your service." Looks like he has made you the center of attention here.Might as well keep the ball rolling. You motion to the Queen, hoping she will understand. "You have told the Queen that you wish to ally with Prospit against the Black Queen and King and I have advised her that this is a good idea." You fold your arms in front of you and give the image of Jack a stern look, hoping this works, "Do you still wish to do so?Do you wish to see the Black Queen brought to ruin? To pay for what she has done?" You nod your head to the White Queen "Then Prospit is willing to help." You sigh to yourself and give another stern look "That is if you're still up to it."

Now to see if your gamble pays off.

>Dirk: Get a closer look

You lean in over one of the the little WORKER'S shoulders, hoping to get a good look at what he is working on. You start forming a SCHEME in your head. Not necessarily an EVIL SCHEME, but certainly a MALICIOUS one. With good intent, though. You suspect that whatever they are doing is similar to CODING THE GAME, since DAEDALUS was up to a similar activity. You're hoping that a little gratuitous CHEATING is what you need to tip the odds in your side's favor.

>Xavier: Use your deduction/ video game knowledge to prediction what's behind the door
Most likely a mini-boss, i.e. ORGE(S), BASISILK(S), or SOME WEIRD DEMONIC THING that will be forced ti defeat. Most likely, once you do, you'll get a NEW ITEM, or in this case a NOTCH ON YOUR MAGE OF LIFE BELT seeing how you make your own weapons, that is nessecary to pass this dungeon and beat the boss.

You have played enough Zelda to figure this fucking game out.

>Xavier: Stop analyzing and run into the room with reckless abandon for the safety of you and C-Diddy
Fuck yeah!

>Rich: Your reckless poking of various rocks fails to open any secret passages. It does, however, cause a cave-in.

Although you think everyone's okay (At least, you can't spot any broken gears or bodies), it seems that your party has been split up by the falling rocks. You find yourself on one side of the cave-in, alongside the CROCODILE with the over-sized shirt and the IMP. You can hear voices on the other side of the rocks, talking about splitting up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Greg: After hearing your questions, Jack facepalms. You can hear him muttering something about stupid kids, and how he really needs to kill them all.

Look, Jack doesn't care about your moronic sense of morals. He's here to %% the Black Queen; that's it. And as much as he hates to admit it (Which is a whole lot, actually. He's got a lot of hate) WQ is probably his best bet for doing so.

Do you have a deal, or don't you?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Dirk: Cheating commence!

The GM assumes that you use your MAGNIFYING GLASS to read the carvings. Because that's still important.

(Plot relevant information will be up later)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Xavier: Oh, oh yeah? You think you can just predict what happens next, do ya? Well, uh, well...

The next room is empty. Just, empty. Like, nothing's there. At all. Except for the door leading WEST, to the next room.

>Greg:Answer Jack

You look to the White Queen for a brief moment, again really hoping she understands what you are trying for,the turn back to the image of Jack Noir and nod,a fierce look in your eyes that would probably have shocked you if you had been looking in a mirror.

"Yes Jack we have a deal". You do a one finger salute and a short bow to the image "To the defeat of the Black King and Queen".

>Rich: Be surprised by cave-in.

Jinkies, that was a close one. Maybe you should stop poking rocks in a geologically-unstable MINE.

>Rich: Resume sleuthing, do not turn back on CROCODILE.

So only one of them ended up on the same side of the cave-in as you. How very...SUSPICIOUS.

You continue making your way through the corridors, this time hoping you might be able to draw out whatever entity may or may not be haunting the MINE. Failing that, you wouldn't mind stumbling across some PHAT LOOT.

Well thanks a lot Pappy GodMonster for proving me wrong. You're sooooooooo just and kind!
(You still know the room will be influential, no matter what he says/does)

>Greg: Jack rolls his eyes at your melodramatic statement. Seriously, what is it with kids these days? Thinking they're so high and mighty... it makes a guy sick.

Jack blandly states that he's sending you a map of Derse; in 18 hours you need to send a fleet of Prospitian ships to the locations he's marked. Doing so will allow them to break through BQ's defenses, and finish her off quite easily.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Rich: As you walk along, you run into another CROCODILE, this one clothed in a ragged uniform and a dust hard-hat. The CROCODILE and IMP accompanying you FLIP THE FUCK OUT, comically leaping into one another's arms at the sight.

The new CROCODILE grumbles that he was trying to scare everyone off so he could steal the treasure that was hidden somewhere in these mines. But, now that you've managed to cause a cave-in, he doesn't know a way back to the surface, and is more concerned with staying alive then getting rich.

He asks if you know a way out of here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Xavier: Muhahaha. I'm so dastardly.

Heading into the next room, you're nearly struck down by a massive bolt of lighting, the crackling electricity just barely grazing you.

After your eyes clear all the dots away, you get a good look at the monster standing, er, floating before you. It possesses a humanoid body, standing about seven feet tall, covered by a brilliantly shining armor. Two massive feathered wings emerge from its shoulders, their continuous beating keeping the creature aloft. Its feet are sharp, three-toed talons, its fists are encased in red armor not unlike a pair of boxing gloves. The creature's head is encased in a featureless helm, a pair of downwards facing horns sprouting from its crest.

C-Diddy begins hyperventilating at the sight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Dirk: It looks like these guys have turned the entire roof of the tower into one big writing tablet, all of it being used for a single poem. It's pretty long, and is total flowery bullshit.

The countless eons will fade away
Till the dark is dispersed by the break of day.
The Chosen Heroes will make their stand
Each one fighting upon their Land.
United by bonds crossing time and space
Their blades will sing as upwards they race
Until they stand, on that field of white
Facing their foe, the King of the Night.

A journey spanning a thousand years
A loss that will shed a thousand tears.
To find and craft, that mighty beast
A task that is almost beyond their reach.
Rivals and adversaries will litter their path
Seeking to stop them, to hold them back.
Can they be halted? Who can say?
They are not yet under Time?s grand sway.

On that golden world, shining bright
Their coming is praised, an end to the night.
On that purple sphere, its ruler feared
Their advent is cursed, their purpose jeered.
The Heroes will come, from a distant place
Crossing unfathomed reaches of time and space.
From that realm, lost to decay and death
They come holding hope for life and breath.

The one who seeks to Light the path
His shadow composed of consuming wrath.
Will he save his Land, return the light?
Or doom his friends to a hopeless fight?
The one who is destined to travel the Ages
His stories filling a thousand pages.
The power to alter fate in his grasp
Will he find himself up to the task?

The one who leaps through Space and back
Who stands on the edge of white and black.
His burden is heavy, his duty is great
His task, that mighty beast, to create.
The one who fights for Hope and peace
The need for his aid will never cease.
To greet the Forger, to wake the Smith
An obligation that is his forthwith.

The one who holds the threads of Life
Who will find himself a master of strife.
His allies face Death?s black grasp
Will he be able to bring them back?
The one who?s Mind has been awakened
His greatest strength, already taken.
To know the future, to see its path
Will be his eternal, and greatest task.

The Glorious Speaker awaits their call
When they need his voice, he will give his all.
A noise that will crush the forces of night
A light that will be forever shining bright.
Their journey complete, a gift he will give
A new home, in which they forever live.
Until the sky grows black, and the worlds decay
He will guard their home, forever and a day.

The Journey will be long, its toils hard
The Heroes will find that they have no guard.
Each of their Denizens they must seek,
To ally with, their powers entreat.
This sacred duty, it must be upheld
Heroes and Denizens, their strengths must meld.
If this task is left unfinished, undone
The quest will be over, its participants gone.

Yeah, it's not quite done yet. Got a couple more verses I need to add, but, again, need food now. And yes, I realize how cheesy it is; shut up, it was fun to write.

>Greg:Take a step back

You nod and bow to the image of Jack once more, then walk over to the White Queen and stand by her side, sporting that stern look again and putting your hands behind your back. You have done enough for now.Time for the White Queen to do the rest. You do hope this whole thing goes well.

>Xavier: Name your enemies
WYVERNS, you think that sounds good.

>Xavier: Calm your factotum
You deliver a slight BACKHANDED PAP to the back C-Diddy's head.

>Xavier: Jump to the fray with reckless abandon for the safety of you and C-Diddy
Fuck yeah!
Actually, you shan't do such a thing. These guys look tough. One false move and you'd EATING LIGHTNING FOR BREAKFAST, which in a sounds way so cool, but will be EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL.

>Xavier: Ponder
Well, you're KNIVES are KINDA USELESS right now, seeing how there CONDUCTORS that'll SHOCK YO ASS IN A YOCTOSECOND, so-

>Wait.
CONDUCTOR! THAT'S IT!
You fly between WYVERNS and start taunting them, ready to TACTICAL DODGE out the way, as soon as they fire at you.

>Rich: Exclaim in surprise!

No.

>Rich: Lie.

Clearly, these CROCODILEs and the IMP don't need the truth right now. No. What they really need...

Is HOPE.

You inform them that you know a way out of the caves, and promptly set off in hope of finding some sort of upward-traveling passage.

>Dirk: Blow own mind

No need, the POEM did that for you. Let's see here, DOOMSDAY shit this, HEROES RISING TO THE OCCASION that, ooh here's where it's talking about you and your friends.

>Dirk: Flip the fuck out

Der FUCK? All your pals get these crazy awesome predictions that hint at their QUEST and all you get is "Don't fuck up"? You always get shafted by FATE. When FATE sees you walking down the street, FATE decrees that some random guy is going to take your face and--

>Denizens?

What the fuck are DENIZENS? You vaguely recall that word being somehow IMPORTANT, even though you don't really know where you heard it before. In fact, you're not certain you have at all. And yet...

Yeah, you really need to be careful with this TIMELINE SHIT, you and your BETA-SELF both. You suspect you've somehow managed to muddy up the timeline and get one of your BETA SELVES' MEMORIES. You are grateful that this time it was beneficial, but you decide to yourself that it likely won't go this well again.

You RECORD the POEM with your COMPUTER/SHADES, for future reference. Or, actually, present reference. You think you're about done here, and you have an idea that might do you and your team some good. You decide to TIME TRAVEL back to the future, but only up to the moment you entered the MEDIUM. Some extra time to get your questing done will be vital, you are certain of it.

So I don't really know if this is acceptable, Pap, so feel free to reject it with your GM powers. But if it's ok I'm not quite sure how you want to handle it. Should I just go over what I do in the spare time with you in PMs/Pesterchum, or play it like normal?
