What did you waste your Masterball on?

In Blue I used it on Mewtwo, and I don't think I used it on anything else until White, in which I used it against the black electric dragon... thing because I wanted to destroy N without him ASAP.

I had to catch a mewtwo with a pokéball for a kid who wasted it on a goldeen once.
And a friend used it to catch a shiny Rayquaza. Which she found after 67 soft resets. I resent her greatly.

I didn't waste mine, my big brother was there to explain it's value. I used it to catch Zapdos. I liked Zapdos....but I have a preference of Moltres nowadays.
I also had infinite master balls (and a celebi) because my cousin decided he'd put some cheats on my game for me. Yeah, it was fun for a while, but even then I wasn't without some kind of honour, so I started a new game.

Something I didn't use a master ball on was a shiny swinub. It was purple, and I thought the shiny effect was a move of some kind. I defeated it and then checked to find another swinub with the same move. Then my brother told me about shiny pokemon. This was the second time I had heard this lecture. Meaning with full awareness, I ignored a shiny.
I wanted to gouge my own eyes out.

Oh god. Why did you bring this up. Okay attacked it with a level 100 Feraligatr because I had some freakish compulsion to never use any other pokemon and didn't consider throwing a pokeball at it.
I was the very best like no one ever was.

Funny, i was the same way in Pokemon crystal, i only had 5 other pokemon on me just to be carrying 6 pokemon. I only used my Feraligatr though. Annoying in the Elite 4 though, he got poisoned after battle with a ton of health, (i can't remember how much, maybe around 500 or 600) and with no poison heals, i had to just walk around in circles unil he fainted, then revive him. Somehow i got him to over lvl 100 without using a gameshark... don't know how, glitch i guess. Last i remember he was lvl 146. Going over lvl 100 gave more health, but thats about it.

On topic, i never actually wasted a master ball... i think... maybe in crystal. I always used masterballs on the first legendary, then at the end of the game, use cheats to get more and use them on the extras.

I've never wasted a master ball. although sometimes i wish i had more of them in the game, for versions of the game where there are a crap ton of legendarys to catch. like heart gold.

The first time round I used it on Mewtwo, after trying 50 odd Ultra Balls. Since then, though, I've never used one.

In Red, a Ratticate. It says somewhere that there are some Pokemon you only encounter once, and I'd never seen one in the wild before. I realised my mistake a minute later when I encountered another one, but it never occurred to me to restart. This is after I played through the entire game with Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur as my sole battling Pokemon.

The only other times I've used Masterballs were to catch a Suicune and Rayquaza.

I tend to use it on the Legendary I want the most in that particular game, though it definitely makes catching the others teeth-grindingly hard.
For example, I used my Masterball on Ho-Oh in HeartGold, because fuck yeah, Fire/Flying was exactly what my team needed. I then proceeded to nearly throw my DS out the window trying to catch fucking Suicune. When that pokeball finally stopped rattling though... victory was sweet.

i think i wasted my masterball on Kyogre, instead of Rayquaza. then, some little shithead stole my game out of my backpack when i wasnt around, played it, defeated Rayquaza and saved afterwards. that pissed me off

I used it on whatever the pokemon of time was in pokemon diamond. Finally! My compulsive tendency to say I might need it later that keeps my grenades nigh on constantly stocked in fps and my inventory full of useless junk in fallout paid off!

I have Pokemon Gold (i refuse to play any of the games after except the remake)
and i used it on Ho-Oh, but didn't realize on my first play through that you could also eventually catch Lugia who was at a bloody high level later on. Used the Master on Ho-Oh and about 23 Ultra balls trying to capture Lugia. :/

At some point in yellow you have to wake up a snorlax blocking a path and than fight it. Halfway through the fight I realized this was probably my only chance to get a snorlax. (and I was right) And because he kept healing he was pretty hard to catch so I figured a master ball was in order thinking I could probably just buy them later. (not so right there)
I later caught all the other ones with ultra balls, articuno even with a great ball. Except zapdos, who I killed and than saved before I realized what he was.
