I'd honestly love to see the Legacy of Kain series remade, along with Lunar: Eternal Blue. Come on, we've had quite a few Lunar 1 remakes, why can't Lunar 2 get some much-needed love?

I don't think any game needs a remake just rereleases kinda like what Doom 3 did the same game maybe polish it a bit so it would be easier on the eye and maybe toss some older games in the same series in if they are any good and multi platform.
I wold have said Doom 3 but I lready got my wish.
Also
Metroid Prime trilogy
Silent Hill 1-4
System Shock 2
Resident Evil 4

I say this every thread... the Legacy of Kain series.. Just redo the graphics on them and maybe release a box set of all 5? I miss those games so much and I cant find any of them anymore

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and Majora's Mask are the two remakes I want most. Given Nintendo's interest in remaking Majora and Game Freak's pattern of remaking Pokemon games on their 10th anniversary(which is next year for Ruby/Sapphire) it seems likely that I'll be pretty happy in the next year or two :D

Arcanum definately. Planescape:Torment too maybe... Nah, just Arcanum. That game was damn good, but the fighting system was too uninventive. It could be made a 3d and the fighting could be made a bit more involving. But the story setup is just golden, so it could stay as it is!

I want a remake of COD 4 'cause it's old (2007!) and has outdated graphics *Hurr durr durr*

Seriously though, I don't want remakes of games for the sake of being old. I want to see remakes of games that had potential to be great but ultimately failed. Those games need more fixing than games that are already good.

That being said, I would like to see remakes of the original Metal Gear & Metal Mear 2: Solid Snake, but mainly so Hideo Kojima can really make them fit well in the main series canon. Though, it's still a nice idea to make us play as Solid Snake in 3d with the ''SOLID'' gameplay, sneaking into Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land.

I don't know whether 3D would be necessary, but yeah, fix up the combat and some of the other game breaking problems. Would be amazing.

And another Troika game .. Vampire: The Masquerade ? Bloodlines. If they just finished the game, and got the later sections up to the same quality as the early levels, it would easily be my favorite game.

Totally agree! And a remake of "Bloodlines" would actually benefit from some of the recent trends in modern gaming.

Imagine a game with that "World of Darkness" atmosphere, those true role-playing aspects, an intuitive combat system and a more open-world environment...

That would be truly EPIC!

Ohh bloodlines-and this time properly finished! That would be awesome! Include a level designer...words cannot fully describe the awesomeness of that :)

If the recent Silent HD release wasn't such a debacle, a proper Silent Hill 1-4 (or at least 1-3) would actually sell. You can't trick people like they tried to do though, I can only imagine the higher-ups thinking "well, I guess that means the Silent Hill games as they were have no place in the modern market, oh well". No, they just don't have a place as buggy, heavily molested bullshit.

I'm a sick bastard, so I'd love to see Manhunt 1 and 2 done with "next-gen" graphics and some of the stealth mechanics and patrolling AI done better. Rockstar would have my purchase, they'd have it even if they're working on 3 (can only hope).

Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Great game, great premise, loads of fun with the mod that makes the lightsabers realistic and more realistic dismemberment is hilarious fun. Give us a graphical overhaul and include tons of bonus characters and weapons from the movies and you've got a Star Wars game to end all Star Wars games.

Baldur's Gate/Diablo/Fallout

Great games that modern audiences have trouble getting into due to being spoiled by newer technology. I didn't get into PC gaming until, well, ever. I tried to back and play Baldur's Gate, Fallout, and Diablo recently for the first time and I guess I've been too spoiled by 3D graphics and fully voiced NPCs that it is hard to appreciate the old classics. I do like the modern spiritual sequels like Dragon Age: Origins and Torchlight, so a graphical and audio overhaul would probably go over very well.

If you want games that had potential but didn't really make it, I want a remake of Alpha Protocol. I definitely had fun with it, the dialogue system was cool, the setting and gameplay were interesting and the plot, while a bit convoluted, wasn't that bad. With a fresh coat of paint, fix some glitches and bad AI, and add some more mechanics to make it a better stealth game (like hiding bodies) and you will have a game that could top some charts.

If, and only if it can be done right, Final Fantasy VI.
yes this or legend of dragoon both must be done right.....in fact just update the grphics on LoD and id buy it in a heartbeat.....or just release it on psn.....please!
LoD is on PSN... in America...

Stupid Americans.

I would love a remake of Pokemon Snap involving the first-gen of Pokemon... ALL OF THEM! Not 30, but all 151 of them.

But I do agree FF6 and LoD need to be remade. Properly.

In reply to the OP a new Bloody Roar game would be great, the last real one (4) was not so good.

I think the old lucasarts Star Wars Flight sims (TIE Fighter, X-Wing) could use an update, not that the franchise deserves it but those games were classic and pretty hardcore.

Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital, pretty much everything by Bullfrog.

Carmageddon would be nice, but the iOS port is pretty damn sharp at least.

Biggest one I would like though would be a new Sid Meyers' Civil War, that game remains the only really good wargame above the squad level, even compared to the battles of the Total War series it is superior, better interface, better pacing. Pretty much the only game I've ever seen that could take those large rifle age battles and make them truly tense and interesting.

There was a fan team working on a Chrono Trigger remake a while back, I would have played that.

Thing is in order for a remake to be needed something about the game has to feel dated (mechanics, graphics, etc) in a way that detracts from the game...

So I guess thinking of it that way, I'd love to see a remake of Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth. It's not even that old, doesn't look bad, but the glitches are sort of maddening (heh) and it could be a lot less trial and error.

Really, I'd rather see my favorite series get spiritual successors (not sequels necessarily as those can veer off the point, as we've seen with Resident Evil and Silent Hill, both on my list of old-school favorites that are being raped today) than remakes. I want someone to capture the essence of my old favorites while being original enough not to lean on the old content like a crutch.
