I believe you are wrong on this one my good sir, it may be for more than normal ( stupid retards eating WAY TOO MUCH) but hey Americans around here aren't to bad. Also bright news is YOU CAN REALIZE THE STUPIDITY HERE. You should also know that around here we are implementing more sports and PE AND more AP courses even despite the recession. Which, may I remind you is said to be on the upturn last time I checked. Hope that was good enough

Never said that [sub]You sarcastic little... you[/sub]
I just said that I won't be any help at all in this thread.
Because I have no compassion.
And I said that you're such a badass. Why not take the compliment you're so obviously angling for? Or would you prefer silent awe?

[HEADING=2]Oi! Shoushi![/HEADING]

you're speaking as if the world ever HAD sense

What period are you deriving the high point from which we have stooped to today? Seriously, because when I look back on history, all I see is a bloody, competative box of insanely intresting chaos

Yup. In the defense (sic)of France though, they are banning ALL religious symbols in schools, including crosses.

I don't like compliments.
They are never sincere.

And... wow.
You really have a tendency to hate people because they say they won't be of any help?
Ok, ok, I'm done with the sarcasm. Utterly ignoring the first two sentences, why did you even post if not to make a valid point? "OK guys, I can see you're having a discussion here and I'd just like to say: I have nothing to contribute at all, because *ahem* I'm a bit of a badass."

I don't know, I stopped paying attention when Australia banned A-cups and Female ejaculation.

Because I'd already posted in all other threads and it was a boring day.
And, yet again, never said I was badass.

How is being inconsiderate badass?
It's bad.
I can tell we're just going to go round in circles here until this argument dominates the thread. I'll just leave, safe in the knowledge that one day you'll understand what I'm saying here.

Worry not about 2012. The four horsemen are already on their way.

China is nothing new.

I like to listen to something by Spongebob or Phineas and Ferb, primarily "Best Day Ever".

I think the human race is just seeing how fast they can race themselves to non-existence. We've let our children know that it's alright to be stupid as hell because nothing matters at the end. Who cares about how much money you spend, because if it gets bad you can just off yourself, right?

It's going to take more than just one or two people to get this shit to change.

people who spend time there staring into the darkness of the world need learn to light a match, be proactive, raise awareness of issues that are keeping you down, spread the word, people will help change it

good old political correctness in action, eh?

-Warning, very depressing thread -

I can usually deal with this stuff, but today i have finally snapped. This is getting ridiculous!!! Has the world gone mad? Have we lost all shreds of common sense! What on Earth can we do to fix all of this! Is no one else banging their heads against the wall!!!

- France is thinking of banning the Burka in some places, even for people who WANT to wear them
- Certain European countries have banned the little towers on mosques, something akin to banning a cross on the tops of churches if I am not mistaken
- Australia is banning things left right and center, setting their standards like in 198-fucking-4
- In China, the ability to make cheap little plastic toys are more important than workers rights
- Religious nuts in the US are getting ridiculous amounts of attention and air time
- People are scientifically arguing that the world will end in 2012
- China doesn't give two shits what the world thinks of them anymore
- Canada is going frigging insane with its Olympic regulations
- The economy is in the crapper, yet thousands and thousands of people are spending way beyond their means
- The media is filled with more private interests than ever before
- And the cherry on top, this generation is going to live shorter lives than the last one, a trend not seen since the f*cking DARK AGES!!!
I...i just... this is all so..... AAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGG!!!!! *thump*

What can we do? What do you do? How do you cope? What is some light news?
see, all of these are CURRENT issues, in the 1980's there were issues like this, same 1990's. The world will never be perfect, and a lot of these issues you dont need to worry about:

-The media will always be biased, before it was right-wing, now it's left (with one little right wing pimple known as Fox News), what one does is spot out the bias and take in the info that they need
-Don't worry about 2012, a lot people say that the world will end, 2012 is just the thing that tipped the balance and started the craze (kind of the assassination of the archduke to ww1), it won't end don't worry
-I don't see how Olympic regulations affect you :p
-the economy will come back, be patient
i really don't like how a lot of people are cynics and pessimists nowadays, notice the ratio of cynics to pessimists when you look and great people, think about it

These two I have no problem with. Islam has nearly destroyed free speech in Holland. The Burka represents opression of women and a view that the French do not and will not tolerate in their country. Yes, I can see how someone can disagree with me and the French governments position, but it's their country.

Er, not really. I'm in Australia at the moment visiting my grandparents and I've spent years here. The US have more censorship than Australia, alot more. It's just that Australia don't have an R rating for their video games. Speaking as someone who lives in the United States, I can honestly say that Australia is the nicer place to be.

Soushi said:

This has been happening for ages. But yeah, it's horrible.

Soushi said:

Maybe, but the general public doesn't really buy into it. I like the way you are complaining about religious nuts getting air time, but you are against banning the burka. A pretty slight contradiction, but a contradiction none the less.

Soushi said:

Yep, once again this has been happening for ages. This type of stuff was going on before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye.

Soushi said:

They sure don't. But nor does the US. Yes, China is a step further - but I don't think it's a huge big problem.

Soushi said:

So?

Soushi said:

Not entirely true. Countries are slowing climbing out of the recession. The UK is officially out. Yes, it's still hard work - but it's improving.

Soushi said:

This is worrying. Entertainment and information is nearly completely fused in Western culture.

Soushi said:

That's not true at all. Most sources say that we'll live longer than the last. Either way, it's not confirmed.

Soushi said:

It's not really. We live in very good times. Don't believe me? Ask your grandparents about civil rights, the depression and the world wars.
