The people who try to be mlg gamers and fail the mlg's are annoying but nothing to me is worse than someone who could be good if they just played the game but instead are trying to look cool and end up failing then sending angry messages because you stole their tags for the third time while they were trying to no scope someone from across a map.

It's just the arrogance in general if they just admitted that they were a part of a bigger effort I wouldn't care but instead it's either I'm the best and the reason we won or you all suck I can't carry this whole team.

People who won't give games a chance (for example they play a couple of minutes, or look at the basic idea and just hate it. Often I've seen them come back to watch later and be completely engrossed), whiny and rude kids who won't shut up (chek owt mi l33t skillz bro), and sexist (or otherwise bigoted) macho pricks. I think that about covers it.

People who make up their own 'rules' in games. I've done this myself, but I've acknowledged the idiocy of it and nowadays don't do it anymore... hopefully anyway. Sometimes frustrated outbursts may cause it, I guess, but I realise how stupid it is in the end and berate myself too.

I'm of course refering to such things as UGL's (Underbarrel Grenade Launchers) in modern wargames, certain heroes in MOBA's, certain tactics in RTS's. These gamers will ***** that it's 'cheap' or noob, as if making competitive games intentionally harder for yourself is somehow noble or fair. *****, if it's useable by both of us then you need to get off your pedestal and either use it yourself or shut up.

This is especially prominent in FPS's, especially of the modern setting variety. As a trained infantryman, I can't take anyone seriously when they ***** about high explosive infantry weapons. Maybe these people should go play Mount & Blade... although I suppose it'd only end with them complaining about bow noobs or something!

The one thing that sticks in my mind was when I first bought my Kinect and unwittingly left the audio input on when I was playing multiplayer on.. uh Reach I think. Being that I am a girl, it was a bad time... some people can be downright disturbing. I dislike those gamers.

I actually avoid MMOs and stuff like that now because of people's behaviour towards me in that regard. That and grinding, bleh. Much more enjoyable to play games on my own!

Anyone who quickscopes. Anyone. Especially people that call "Hardscoping" (AKA using a sniper how they are realistically) used noob. Luckily this isn't a problem on PC because there is no aim assist but if I'm playing COD on a console (which is one of the only multiplatform games I do play on a console) its basically inevitable.

Pirates - Anyone who illegally plays a game, and then complains about it not being fun or something deserves to shut the fuck up and die

Fanboys - All they can do is think that their favourite game is the best game in the world and all other games suck. They need a good kick in the head

First impression fags - I hate the gamers that play a game for like 10 minutes (i.e. a really short time) and then call it shit and never play it again, without even attempting to stick with it

"Everyone is cheating but me" assholes - I was playing a game of Counter Strike the other day and this guy got headshotted. He then proceeds to call his killer a cheater an aimbot fag and calls a vote to kick him. The kick didn't succeed. The idiot kept on spamming the chat with profanities about this guy and called another vote. The vote succeeded and the guy was kicked. The caller of the vote, never spoke a word again....Until he got headshotted by someone else...

People who buy into the PC vs Console thing, from either side (although the most vocal ones seem to be the PC people).

Who cares which plastic and silicon filled box you play your games on? There are developers that make games for each and for all. Just enjoy the fact that you can afford to play videogames on *any* platform, save up for the one you don't have, and move on with your life.

It's a debate that has absolutely no reason to exist.

Oh and before I forget. Honourable mention goes to the over the shoulder gamers. There is nothing more aggravating and fun-killing than someone watching you and telling you do things. No you are not helpful. Yes you can shut up. Let me play the game MY way because I enjoy playing it MY way...

Nice to meet you captcha :)

I'm finding myself a bit tired of pirates.

Saying they're victims of corporations; acting like problems with publishers may improve if they stop supporting developers while still enjoying their products.

Annoys the most?
I would have to say people that complain endlessly about online interactions with people in games but do nothing but play online games and post in forums about how bad it was all day. Its like jumping in a pool and complaining about getting wet.

The standard noob, really.

Everyone they kill/defeat is a scrub and terrible player who should kill themselves.

Everyone who defeats them is a hacker/cheater.

Any method used to kill them is "cheap", only 'abused' by "bad players". They don't use these methods because they have, um, video game 'honour'.

They have the remarkable ability to play a game for ridiculous lengths of time without improving whatsoever or learning anything.

The people who place an over-importance on graphics, for one. Yes, graphic quality is an important part of a game, but saying that a game is pure garbage simply because of bad, old, or outdated graphics? Then there were the ones who will say that a game is too 'immature' because of cartoony graphics. Yet they will gladly play a game with 'realistic graphics that will be outdated in a year or two, where in the characters swear constantly, do idiotic and irresponsible things, and whine and moan half the time - real mature.

The second type are the ones who take gaming way too seriously. The ones who spend fortunes on gaming machines, spend hours a day playing, join gaming tournaments, and then proceed to loudly insult anyone who they beat. The worst part about it is that a lot of the insults tend to be misogynistic/homophobic.

Ones that don't think the actual gameplay is important compared to story and things. Read a book or watch a movie if you want story. Games need passable gameplay with very few exceptions.

Tourneyfags.
They suck all fun out of anything that can be played competitively.
I have a large number of groups I dislike, but the one i hate, and want gone... yeah
just play the game. I don't care about frame counts and animation cancels. I don't want to glitch through a wall and take potshots at people who can't shoot back. and I don't want you in my god damn hobby

Anyone who uses the word "e-sports". Gaming is not a sport. And this push to try to make "e-sports" a thing just strikes me as people desperate to point to it and say to their fathers "See, dad? It is a legitimate pastime!"
I see you're point but disagree with why people call it that, i follow e-sports and i could care less what my dad or anyone in the world thinks about it and maybe I'm crazy but i think the whole gaming is a sport thing would be less of a common thing to say if Poker wasn't on TSN / ESPN because that associates it with a sport and gaming is just as competitive as Poker so i guess marketers figured ' hey people like sports and people like games so lets call pro gaming an E-Sport!' So its less of us considering it a sport as opposed to us thinking its a really competitive and difficult past time in the same vein as sports (minus the athleticism)

Oops run on sentence.

My roommate is like this i find it funny as opposed to annoying, the kicker his response is ' I'm a programmer i know exactly how this game will play out after the first 20 minutes so if im not immediately entertained i know i never will be' LOL
