What type of gamer annoys you most?

Gamers who refuse to even look at a game because its part of the series made by a different studio. I'm looking at you fallout 1 and 2 fans. I could understand if they tried it and hated it (and this isn't aimed at those guys) but a fair few just screamed at it.

The term has been turned upside down, raped then re-raped, slammed on a pop culture bandwagon, slapped on a price sticker and sent crippled into the wild to rake in some cash.

Basically any type of gamer that plays Madden or COD or any one game solely and acts like they are some type of hardcore gaming ponce. It's like when someone claims to be a Film Guru just because they watched Citizen Kane.

Anyone who uses the word "e-sports". Gaming is not a sport. And this push to try to make "e-sports" a thing just strikes me as people desperate to point to it and say to their fathers "See, dad? It is a legitimate pastime!"

get over yourself, not insist that "it's an e-sport". No one is buying that nonsense, except other people who need their fragile egos fluffed.

Are poker and chess really trying to claim that they are sports? Because if so, yeah, they're not sports either.

The term "sport" has lots of different definitions, and what exactly constitutes a "sport" is a difficult question to answer and a subject of debate. If you don't believe gaming or chess are sports then that's all well and dandy, but don't say "Gaming is not a sport" as if that opinion is a fact, and it's incredibly unfair to push negative stereotypes onto other people just because their view of what constitutes a sport is different to yours.

People who complain about kill-steals in a co-op game. I don't care who kills an enemy as long as it's dead.

The ones who ***** about games which aren't running higher than 30-45fps, they're spoiled brats as far as i'm concerned.

I'm one of those people who likes a good framerate. I turn down graphic settings if it gets me a higher framerate up until 60. I noticed my skills increase a lot if I go from 45 to 60 fps in fast-paced action games. I can tolerate 30 fps in sim or strategy games.

I don't ***** about it, though, since I rarely play games that run at 30-45 fps. I did play some console games this generation, but those are mainly Wii games, which despite the dated hardware often run at 60 fps.

Especially PC elitists, because I also exclusively play PC (i'm gonna buy the next-gen xbox when it comes out) and because of this very vocal minority (I hope) ALL PC gamers lose face, for example when discussing consoles with a classmate about a year ago, he asked me what console i play, i replied that i only play PC, and he immediately called me out on it and started to rage about all the "master race" bullshit thats going on. I honestly hope to god you're talking about the people who do this and then brag relentlessly about it. Constantly.

Because playing a game, making it more challenging than it would be under normal conditions, finding new ways to win outside of the intended design, and feeling good about it are not inherently bad. What can I say? It's fun to do things like "no main character runs" all the way up to Baal and Prinny Baal in the Disgaea games.

Just people who differentiate between "hardcore" and "casual" ... and even people who use the term "gamers" in serious discussion. Those are the kind of people who most annoy me.

I wouldn't describe myself as a "film watcher" or "reader", though I'm interested in those pursuits. And in every medium the distinction between high and low art is imaginary; as it is in video gaming.
