Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley.
The only reason why I pre-ordered was because shortly before it came out, my laptop had to go to the shop, and even with the laptop, I had way too much free time that was eating away at me. I loved the hell out of
Friends of Mineral Town, so why not? Also, pre-ordering meant getting a free plush dog.
I grew to regret buying it pretty fast. The first year of the game you're stuck with winter (meaning that your crops aren't going to grow very fast or very well), you can never leave your farm (visitors talk of a nearby town though), you can't upgrade your tools, you can't upgrade your stamina/health, you can't plant seeds on multiple squares or water multiple squares, the harvest sprites don't help a whole lot, getting the final season gem requires a ridiculously high number of things to do (whereas the other two it was only a small number of relatively simple tasks), the list goes on and on.
The fact that it's worse than a game that came out over ten years ago in every way is just baffling.
But hey, at least the plush is adorable.
