Best: The NES controller it has such an awersome classic design and it was really fun to hold and when im playing on my old NES with one of my buddies i don't have to explain to him which button does what. I just say: "If you press this button and it doesn't make you jump it means that it's the other button"

Worst: The first Xbox controller, it was so clunky i hated it.

2 I can point out:

1. The Atari Jaguar had a pretty bulky controller with those multiple numerical values that i don't understand

2. The Atari 5200 Controller....well it never functioned, what more needs to be said about that :p

Best: GC controller, would be the 360 but it's got a terrible D-pad

Worst: N64 hands down

I don't know about worst, but the Dreamcast and N64 controllers are quite awful.

Again, I can't rightly call it the best with my amount of console experience, but I quite like the PS2 controller.

The worst is this http://www.computercloset.org/Magnavox_Odyssey_Controller.jpg with the Nintendo 64 in a close second

The best is the 360 or PS3 duelshock.

Best would be either the Dualshock 2 or the Sega Saturn (there's a reason the latter is what almost every Fightpad style controller rips off design-wise).

Worst would be the Dreamcast. Who thought putting a memory card slot on the controller was a good idea?

The 360 controller has the perfect shape and size, and feels very firm. But the d-pad is just horrendous, but thankfully I think that they fixed it with the new controller. So that would be the best

As for the worst, well I havent really played on that many consoles but I tried the original Xbox at my friends once and the controller was just huge! So probably that one for the worst

Best: My third-party Brooklyn (That's the companys name) PS2 controller. It's light blue, shines in the dark, is see-through, and is slightly larger than the average controller. Something that's good for me, because I have quite large hands.

Worst: Any controller that thought it would be a good idea to move the left joystick slightly higher than the right one. Why is this a good idea? It feels really awkward for me, having to move my left hand higher up than my right hand. I prefer symmetry between the joysticks, thank you very much.

If you find one of those rare Dual Shock 2s with good diagonals on the d-pad, it's that.

I want to say "Razer Onza" but I've yet to try/buy one.

EDIT - Though I hate to hype anything Nintendo these days, the Classic Controller Plus is AMAZING. It's my ideal Cave Story controller.

It depends on what you are doing. The 360 controller is the best controller for shooting games and such, but it has a terrible d-pad and is pretty bad for fighting games.

The PS3 controller is a bit more awkward with it's shoulder buttons and the stick placement is awkward for something like Call of Duty, but it has an awesome d-pad making it amazing for fighting games.

I'd choose the 360 over the PS3 for everything but fighting games though.

The best for me is the Genesis controller. The XBox controller was based off it for damn good reasons! The worst for me was the Super Nintendo and the Dreamcast controller (that thing was bulky as all hell!!)

the best would probably be the 360.

The worst was definitely the n64. Not because it was a weird shape, it was actually fairly comfortable, but it had the worst analog stick ever. Not only could you easily blister your thumb on the top of it, but the calibration was in constant need of attention and the analog would just plain break after a while trying to play Mario Kart. That's the only thing I remember Nintendo making that was just engineered to be a piece of junk.

oddly enough I love te n64 remote I find i am more accurate with the c buttons than a second stick and my hands are so large its fits well I can just hold the joy stick and the extra handle in one hand n the other in my right not to mention the joy stick was nice and stiff I loved it gave great resistance I really wish new remotes had more resistance im always overshooting everything because of it

Best controller for me is the Dual Shock family. The 360 controller could have been up there, but the LB and RB buttons always cause me problems, and the D-pad is horrible.

The worst controller is the Wiimote, I think it is the sole reason I hardly ever play my Wii. I just hate holding a remote in my hand while playing games, and holding it sideways is just ridiculous.
