What's the longest your console has ever worked for?

Sega Megadrive: 1992-Present day.
Playstation 1: 1995-Present day.
Playstation 2: 2000-Present day.

That is some stubborn technology.

My current Xbox has been in service the last 4 and a half years, and I'm going to retire it on the 20th, in favor of the new GoW3 Xbox.

OT: My PS3 is still going strong for 3 and a half years now. My NES is going strong since 1985. My buddies Intellivision still works...1979. so yeah....When the current gen gets there then we can talk about console Longevity lol. My ps2 also still works lol.

I geuss it's fair since you own a PS3. GoW on our side of the console fence stands for "Gears of War 3". Sorry for the confusion.

Believe I bought my new PS2, after the first one broke down, around 2003. It should still work. I don't really use it anymore though.

SNES has lasted about twenty years and it still works. Now, just to find that sneaky wee scart... anyway, I've also had my PS2 since early 2000s I think. PS1 a wee bit longer, likewise with my Gameboy Color! Though I haven't tried the former in donkeys.

My first computer that my family got back in '96 is still working. It's got Warcraft 2, Wolfenstein 3D, Civilization and a bunch of NES and gameboy roms. It's collection dust in a closet somewhere, but I used it two years ago just fine. It's outlived every computer I had since. They just don't make em like they used to.

The only console that has broken completly is my Gamecube. It was a fighter, it died a slow, agonising death.
Thank god the wii has backwards-compatibility.

I've got a Commodore 64 in my attic that still works...oldest "console" is probably my PS2, although my PS3 has seen alot more use just as a media server.

I've got a couple of Pentium 4s, Celerons, and a few of the XP AMD chips that still work like they were brand new.

OT : my snes still works since it's release . Still gotta blow on the cartridges some though. Long live Final fantasy III ( I.E 6)

Had a Nintentdo 64 for 10 years before a lightning storm killed it. And I am not ashamed to say I was close to tears when it happened. That thing served me well.

It's probably my sister's Xbox (which I've taken from her but will probably give back since she asked me so nicely). Other than that would be my PS3 probably...I've had it since...2008 or 9, I don't know. Then I got my 360 around 2009 or 10 or so. It's ironic considering I've got a Gamecube, N64 and, SNES. They're new to my collection though so I couldn't count them fairly. My next console is either going to be a PS2 or a Sega Genesis.

I know my grand mother's Atari still works; not sure when she got it through. But that is AT LEAST 20 years old, assuming she got less than a year before I was born ('92). Looking up the 2600, it says it was sold from '80 to '82, so, I have to assume she got it around then. So, around 30 years old and still working?

I've also got a working n64, sega saturn, game boy, etc. that all work. Definitely some truth to the older things being hardier than new consoles.

My Wii is working just fine and has done so since launch day, though it's only forced to work one or twice a season at this point, so...

I got my 360 march of '06 and my ps3 dec of '06, they both stopped working around april '10. I replaced them both and now I'm scared of turning them on (I do but once you get that yellow light of death or red ring of death you never forget it and you always expect it).

These are the only two consoles that have ever stopped working. (That I've owned)

My 360 is still working after getting it a few months after release. Before that, my Xbox is still working after getting it the Christmas after release. And my N64 is still working after getting it the Christmas after release. And my SNES is still working, and my NES is still working... And by Gameboy color and Gameboy Advance are both still working...

I don't have very good luck with computers though. My laptop fried after a year (overheated and killed the HDD), then the screen died a year later and had to be replaced, and now it's on its way to another death.
