Oh, wait...
Wait are you saying that he is bad person because the producer of said product fails to provide something other than what he likes?
Her anger seems more directed at the gaming industry as a whole.

People just don't like talking about it. It makes THEM feel uncomfortable. Most of them wouldn't admit it but they like large breasts too, it's programmed into our brains, the sign of a suitable partner.

And some people may have a disposition on the nun part, which is more understandable because it's a corruption of a religious symbol to catholics. But fetishes can develop early out of the littlest things, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Neurons can get set into random patterns due to early situations, some psychologists would argue you could also be born with certain quirks regardless of interference in brain development.

It's really quite interesting, but I'm starting to ramble.
tl;dr hypocrites and uptight people are the ones with a problem, not you.
Um...no. I find large breasts to be very attractive, but I like large to mean within the realm of physical possibility. I've got quite a folder filled with stuff I'd rather not talk about where everyone can see. I very much enjoy the sight of a naked woman. I still think the Sorceress looks stupid, and for a very simple reason. There is a time and a place for sexualized things. A frontline fighter who is wearing a low cut top isn't one of them, unless it is there for a good reason, like with Bayonetta.

This week I watched the review of Dragon Crown and read the Critical Miss comic about it and there were a lot of people posting about how bad/stupid/disgusting the female body shapes were in the game. And I remember there was a similar uproar awhile ago about that Hitman: Absolution trailer where Agent 47 fights a bunch of stripperiffic nun assassins.

My question is, are you guys saying that if I like women who have large breasts and/or are dress as sexy nuns that I am a bad person?

Its that I do like women with the sort of figure you see in Dragon Crown or Hitman: Absolution, and the feeling I get from these flame wars is that there are a bunch of people out there saying that because I like women with big breasts, or women dressed in sexy outfits that I am bad/evil/immoral. The idea that someone would label me as a bad person just because I have a certain sexual preference makes me angry.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying sexploitation and/or nunsploitation. Hell, I enjoy my blacksploitation and jewsploitation films without shame. They have a market and rightly so. Not everything can be cerebral masterpieces. With that said, if you produce such works, expect them to be treated like trash.

When exploitative works come out, they will be criticized for being exploitative... that's kinda a no-brainer. The reason for this is that exploitation is a cheap form of entertainment and will be called out for being such. Once again, you are not a bad person for enjoying such works, but the designer/developer/producer/game is seen as shallow and will be condescended by anyone who takes the medium seriously. And rightly so.

It's my opinion that no-one's sexual or aesthetic preferences are a problem until it hurts someone else. (This is why pedophilia is bad: by acting on it AT ALL you're harming someone else.) Likewise, a preference for large breasts wasn't an issue until it informed the design of almost every single female character in video games. Dragon's Crown probably wouldn't have gotten the press it did if the guy behind the art hadn't replied to the token level of criticism by pretty much saying "LOL UR GAY". I call it token criticism because it's always there, but it usually doesn't get press. There's always going to be a smallish group of feminists and the like complaining about the sexism in a given game's design. (That's not to say that they don't have a point, just that they're always there.)

No your not a bad person. Lots of people like porn. Because thats what it is. Porn. Most video game contain a good deal of male-oriented porn. And if your okay with the industry being capable of aspiring to nothing more then porn, then you're fine. If you fine with every goddamn action game in the universe trying to throw in porn as a feature, then you are the current ideal demographic. But if you think that there should be a few games that are NOT porn, then maybe theres a problem here. Personally, I'd like to, every once in a while, have female character that I can interact with that I don't feel like the creators want me to masturbate to. For variety sake, if anything.

Personally, even in my porn, I prefer human women, and not creepy, alien, chest-based flesh-mountains.

Then make a game like that? Or get people together and get voices heard you want one made. If one hasn't been made, it's obvious the demand isn't there.
Bullshit - it just means the demand (if there is one) hasn't been filled. You can't go back to the pre-mobile phone days and say "No one's made a mobile phone, so obviously the demand isn't there". I don't know if any "look at my dick" games have even been made, so it's hard to gauge if there's a demand for it or not - we won't know until someone makes the product.

To be fair, there are not many interesting/complex characters...period. Even though there are on average many more male characters, the number of interesting/complex male or female characters are almost the same.

intentional stylization or not, it doesn't stop it from being nightmare material

the whole "my horrible aesthetically unpleasing artwork is my style" sounds like a 16 year old DA user.
Of the Dragon's Crown characters I always found the Amazon to be the most horrible design, she looks even more mind-bendingly weird in three dimensions it would appear. That figurine is just...I shan't sleep for hours!

Liking big boobs doesn't make you a bad person. Big boobs are okay. The whole Dragon's Crown fiasco was a bit blown out of proportion (ironically) I think because the art style used was just so uniquely odd. I have no issue with the witch having massive knockers or that the amazon is scantily clad, I think their tiny heads and the weird muscles-on-muscles-on-muscles thing the amazon has going on below the waist to be more disturbing. But if that's what you like then I have no probalem with that, you aren't hurting anyone by liking them.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with liking the sexy nuns from Hitman. Latex is sexy (nuns not so much) but obviously isn't to everyones tastes. The only issue I have with the offending trailer is that the Saints are apparently a bit shit at their job, although maybe it's just that Agent 47 is a super badass. Plus you'd expect a hitsquad sent to take out a highly skilled assassin might have tried to be a bit more inconspicuous and not all stand together. But I digress. Again, your preference for sexy outfits doesn't make you a bad person unless you stole the outfit for a woman to wear or got one that is two sizes too small deliberately and then watch her try and squeeze in to it as you chortle nearby.

Think that the fact that you're even wondering if you're a bad person because you like tits is the real problem OP.

Yeah, that's kind of the problem overall. The writing in video games, on average, is kind of shit. This is just one of the many MANY symptoms, and it's a bit of a sore spot for many people.

The reason people don't like Dragon's Crown sorceress's figure is because it's bloody stupid.

They're not hating you because you enjoy that body shape. But seeing how that's all her body shape is good for - pandering - then it's not hard to see why they're annoyed that YET ANOTHER game offers little in the way of realistic females and spends EVEN MORE time trying to titillate an increasingly jaded audience.

Why do people tell me to stop being so uptight because I'm annoyed by the lack of another Jade? Or Alyx? Hell, I'd even take another New Lara Croft at this point.

And before the comparison to "buff guys" comes up. Giant breasts don't convey physical power.
They might convey sexual power though, which could be something which female members of the audience desire.
Yes some female gamers may want bigger breasts to fulfill some sort of insecurity they have but it doesn't change the fact that boobs in no way empower you physically when you're supposed to be fighting monsters. If anything they would just get in the way.
It's not necessarily an insecurity issue. Could just be a desire to be sexually intimidating. Think Bayonetta, or catwoman from Tim Burtons batman, where sexuality is simultaniously used to control or influence the actions of others, particularly individuals that would be otherwise unassailable, and convey a sort of confident danger.

I take the designs as cartoonish overblown ideals of what A and B will look like. Men are ridiculous. Women are ridiculous. All of it is gross and misshapen. Like the knight. Wearing all that armor and carrying around all the time... that's a freaking load on your legs. They will be bigger than those pretzels he's walking on, especially with all that swinging. I mean, if we're going to talk about all the inconsistencies, let's do it.

Nor should the Elf be so lithe. Has anyone ever used a Bow? I mean, really used it? There's a reason why these people have such cut arms.

The designs are all grossly laughable, from start to finish. The Amazon... I don't even know where to go in with that. It's all wrong. It's a weird mix of fat and muscle but it's there. The Knight should have some type of legs carrying all that stuff around. The Elf should be cut to shit. Hell, I can see the Sorcess still having those things because... she's not really fighting. She's throwing around magic. It would make sense that she has those things even if she does fight monsters all day. Because she's not doing it with a sword. Just will and magic.

It's all cartoonish. People, let it go.

I find the Sorceress aesthetically pleasing and in no way stupid at all, and the Elf is realistically proportioned, the reason a lot of media has women with huge tracks of land is because a lot of men (my self included) find that hot, we all have our own sexual quirks like I can not find tanned women sexy at all but a lot of people do. So just life with the fact that a good number of people do in fact like that something you do not about a particular character.

You're not a bad person. I like big breasts, too! Men and women like breasts!

I like Dragon's Crown art, too.

As for the AssassiNuns it might be offensive on a religious level more than anything. I'm not that religious to be bothered, personally, but I know people who might be.

People should leave artists be. If you don't like some peice of art go look for something else and if you can't find what you want then become an artist and make the art yourself. It's not the responsibility of the artist to try and improve society.

I just wish people, in general, would get over the childish shame and embarrassment they seem to feel about this stuff. I mean, I bet everyone who posts in this thread is a consumer of pornography, I am, and yet those same people will act - in public - like anything sexualised is some heinous crime.

Cartoony muscley men with flailing dicks that grapple eachother in an effort to come out on top.
I won't feel bad if it's not sufficient to change anything, but it seems worth mentioning since you brought it up. For the comedy if anything. :p

Wait, isn't that a false comparison? Genitalia and mammary glands are two completely different entities. Wouldn't the proper comparison be between male genitalia and female genitalia or female breasts and male breasts? Of the former, I've only seen one example in games (male nudity in GTA IV) and of the latter I've seen considerable more exposed male pectorals than I've seen exposed female breasts in games.

If sexy stripper nuns in itself was the problem, people would have lost their shit over Saints Row the Third. They didn't. It has to do with the context of the characters just randomly stripping their habits.

And even that evil Anita Sarkeesian says that enjoying questionable material doesn't make someone bad, so obviously it's okay.

If my avatar is any indication, I find women with overly large breasts to be attractive. I believe that they are perfectly fine in video games and in anime because those things aren't real and are just fantasy.
But by that logic, I find green-haired men who look like women to be attra....Okay, bad example.

Anyway, plenty of reasons you could have that avatar. So it's cool you explained, as it's not a given.

As one of the few men who will admit to buying Rumble Roses XX (it's actually a good game for the most part) it's normal. To me sexualization in games (women with unrealistic proportions or doing things in outfits that don't cover much) is just another reason to enjoy the game. On one hand I enjoy games like Empire Total War for the deep strategic enjoyment, then I might play Rumble Roses XX because it makes another part of me feel good.

As for that muscle woman figurine, I'm a fan of women with muscle and they did a horrible job on that. There are women like Monica Mowi (my personal fave) and they look nothing like that, they have the muscle but those hip bones look like they're gonna break through her skin. Also due to the fact that breasts are largely fat those would have to be fake due to the low amount of fat present in her body.

I was more comparing it to how women s breasts poke out and are grossly exaggerated, dicks literally poking out of thier pants is more like porn :p But keen!

Thank you! i was going to say that's like saying "I want a decent meal" to a take out resturont, and them telling you "well, go make it yourself!" They should be trying to fulfill my desires, therefore take my money!
